Be honest, what do you think of the farming arc?
>>
shit
jumped the shark
inoue is bad when he attempts to write deep characters and introspection
>>
When did they make a Roman Reigns manga?
>>
It was fine, not amazing
>>
>>135949863
I think if went out for too long but I liked it, it gives Takezo some crucial development after the Yoshioka's onslaught
>>
From my understanding, the farming is pretty similar to the boat in berserk so i can sympathize. However i read vagabond way after farming hapened and thought it was a nice change of pace and good for character development.
>>
>>135950441
The problem isn't the hiatus, this arc as always been controverted among the fans.
>>
There will always be people who complain over the pacing. These type of manga were made like that. West fan get read the chapter as soon as they come out, while the typical nipps over here would just move on to another manga while waiting for the volume come out so they can just read everything in one swoop.
>>
>>135950603
has*
>>
I wouldn't say it's bad, the problem was the monthly releases plus the long hiatuses.

Which one is objectively the best?
>>
>>135950795
Mugen no Juunin's art
Vagabond's characters
Shigurui's swordplay
>>
>>135949809
I genuinely like that arc. The story is about Musashi's character developing and changing, and that arc delivered in that sense.
To be honest the worst part of Vagabond for me was probably Sasaki's backstory. It appeared out of nowhere, was long, back then we had no reason to care about any of those characters, and I may have been a bit tired after reading nearly the whole thing in a day or two
>>
Farming arc wouldn't be so bad if Otsu was there and he got to fuck around with her. Musashi let her become a Christmas cake.

Also it reminded me of how retarded, depressing, hopeless, and subservient that the peasants were during that time period which was really frustrating.
Reading irrigation for hours objectively never works as a way to force the reader's empathy for the people of the past.

Since we have a 6th grade education we know the general tricks of agriculture. Spending chapters spoonfeeding them to us via trial and error doesn't make the people seem more relatable, it unconsciously infuriates the reader and makes them wish they had a time machine to go back a pummel some sense into those illiterate mudfarmers.
spoonfeedo

It's good.

Only shonenbabies hate it. Those same bunch of brat also hate VS's farming arc.
>>
>>135951760
reading it all at once is probably a thousand times less painful than monthly
>>
Not as good as Vinland Saga's farm arc
>>
>>135952093
vinland saga has been shonen-tier for a while. Don't like it. at least vagabond sticks to its guns
>>
>>135951580
>Since we have a 6th grade education we know the general tricks of agriculture.
California sure as shit doesn't teach that
>>
>>135950795
Never read the manga is it good? shoul I? of Blade of the Immortal, only seen the anime back when I was just starting to get into it.
Shigurui was very climatic, but a bit too absurd at times.
Out of these I definitely like Vagabond the most.
>>
>>135951760
Nah.
VS's farming arc isn't very good. There is whole bunch of stuff I can cite, from sworn brother double cuckold to Thorfinn's new personality being very static, flat, and shouneny. He really relies on the philosophies and actions of others to propel most of his dialogue and choices. He also never tapped ass so that's pretty sad.

I'm a fan of romance so I guess I would have liked some "changed by love" stuff rather than "changed by hairy norsemen slave buddy".

The fact that after the farming arc he still has such huge issues with his past to work through makes it even more irrelevant. All these people are blindly following him even though it appears he truly still lacks to mental strength or charisma to attract their support, yet for some reason he gets it.

But there's a difference between not liking it because of those reasons and not liking it because "where muh edge murder porn go DUURRRR"

>California
I would think you'd learn how to grow plants since grade school. Isn't marijuana cultivating an core curriculum subject now?

Read it only if you don't mind main romances with >sexless romantic resolution and side romances with >gang rape impregnation

The 2nd half of the manga is just pure anatomy porn, where the mangaka took ridiculous weapons and drew incredibly sophisticated and accurate fight scenes.
There's a whole couple chapters where the MC is sword fighting with a giant buff backwards arm and it's all drawn anatomically correct.
>>
>>135952846
He was born like that or what?
>>
>>135953175
Nope, he has incredible regeneration abilities - and his body can even adapt other people's body parts. He never did it as extreme as in this fight, where he lost his arm, but off his opponent's arm and attached it to himself.
>>
>>135953292
I really really liked how the mangaka did the experimentation arc and took his own character's powers and just spent 20+ chapters workshopping it so nobody can claim any obvious exploits that could arise from it.

It's seriously the first time a manga has never had me saying "well why didn't they just ______" when the bad guys are trying to use a power for evil.
>>
>>135953650
Absolutely, that arc could easily have become boring or shitty, but he really nailed it.

Seriously, now that I begin to think about it, there isn't really anything about BotI that was really shit in my memory.

>>135953893
The only thing that was shit about it in my mind was that not a single character had consensual sex. But if you look at the mangaka's other stuff they have a pretty huge rape/ntr fetish so it's understandable I guess/

However I still have hopes for the loli, it seems like he's been the Rin's descendant's fantasy husbando for quite a while >tfw tale of genji loli-rearing sequel
>>
>>135949809
Boring. However, the aspect how Takezo really became the thinking Musashi was interesting read.
>>
>>135949809
It's good. Tertiaries who haven't read the book or seen the films that expected this to be some braindead shounen with constant fighting need to fuck off.
>>
>>135954541
>Tertiaries who haven't read the book or seen the films
That's like 99% of it's readers.
People on /a/ are often surprised when they learn it's not written by Inoue Takehiko.

Don't hold it against them that they came into an adaption without realizing it had companion material. It's art oozes originality and most readers don't live in nippon so it's kinda silly to expect them to know such things going into it.
>>
Completely fine when you read it when its fully finished instead of chapter by chapter.
>>
>>135954297
Huh, never thought about that. That's ... awful, when you think about it.
>>
>>135955150
Yeah this, vinland saga and berserk aren't so bad if you read them after the "tedious" parts are done. I enjoyed all of those moments really.
>>
>>135955238
Sasaki Kojiro's arc was the real torture, I didn't mind the farming.
>>
>>135955280
The old man really grew on me.
>>
>>135952571
The closest thing to growing plants I was taught throughout *all* of mandatory education was in Biology:
>lol seeds grow when you put them in the ground and don't when they're not
>plants die without water so water every plant
that was more-or-less the extent of botanical/agricultural education
>>
>>135956827
In Massachusetts we spent an entire year or 2 learning every single fucking advancement of the agricultural revolution. To this day you could ask me how to make a cotton gin and I'd probably be able to build one.

It's like they were preparing us to timeslip, or get transported to a fantasy world.
