I thought PsychoPass had a good first season. I just liked Kogami fucking everyone up. Then he left for s2, so yeah it fell apart.

This is correct, think the ending on S1 set up S2 to be mediocre though, it all happened but then it was like they only got permission for S2 during the finale so had to somehow end it with room for S2.

I don't think S2 was THAT bad. If it was a movie a lot of the problematic parts could have been cut, too. The main problem in both sequels anyway is the fact that they are unable to move past from "uhhh sybil is shit but sometimes is useful but still one day the ppl will rek it 4sure ok" conclusion which we got in S1 in the first place.

Not really, the whole thing was nonsensical, sure the first season had its fair share of dumb moments like the whole sibyl system was human the whole time twist, but its ideas and story were easy to get behind and characters like Ginoza and Akane still grew over the course of the narrative. S2 couldn't do that with any of its character. Whilst villains like the lesbian killer were fun, Togane was an over the top edgy teenagers idea of a psychotic antoagonist. And the whole concept of Kirito made no sense. The first season was all about actual worldbuilding, the second was just a clone of the first with all the worst aspects enhanced.
