>foreign princess/some sort of female nobility
>immediately starts lusting after japanese male teen dick
>best supporting cast
Even being the worst adapted with the worst animation can't stop it from being the best.
Something went right when you want more plot than fanservice and more art of the male characters.
You know, I do think the girls in Asterisk were cuter than the girls in Rakudai.
But man, I hate them so much. What really pissed me off about them is that even for a light novel adaptation, their relationships with the protagonist was fucking stupid.
Don't get me wrong, Stella jumps the cock faster than I'm comfortable with and I never liked little sister characters, but I can kind of get the excuse they've got going for why they like the dude. But man, Asterisk didn't even try. They don't like the protagonist because he's nice, or because he's cool, or because he's got a huge fucking dick or some shit. All of them except Julis are just kind of introduced wanting to bang him before we even know who the fuck they are, and then Julis decides she wants to bang him when she has reason to not want to bang him at all.
Like fuck, man, does the Asterisk protagonist just sweat date rape or something?
I wish. I prefer dfc, but she has a decent size chest.
Season 2 will introduce the best girl too.
Were light novels always this bad? I swear the old Shana/Index/Tsukaima trio were all way better than the shit we have now.
Am I just being nostalgic here? Were my tastes just shit years ago when I liked that stuff?
The answer is yes.
Especially Zero no Tsukaima. That is definitely not a well written book.
Dont get me wrong though, they're all enjoyable, something doesn't need to be well written or explore new ideas to be fun.
>This thread isn't baited because Asterisk has another season coming
>Rakudai fags haven't already moved on because they like what they like and are in other threads now that the show is over
>Asterisk isn't shit and a 2nd season serves as proof
Left. Asterisk a shit.
Just do some OVAs that re-does volume 5 better then start on a season 2 that covers 6, 7, 8 and 9. End with a cut to black and "Kiseki will do her best!"
There'd be a few inconsistencies and I'd still like to see Takeru's brutal beatdown of Reima followed by Kyouya blasting his face off with his shotgun, but I'd be very okay with this.
What the hell are you talking about? The only one that wanted to bang Ayato is Claudia. Julis only sees Ayato as a comrade and she only started to warm up to him near the end.
Left because Stella is best girl of 2015.
Pink Houki a shit. A SHIT.
I still want the short scene with Kurogane in Volume 2. Ideally of course, but yeah, 3 episodes for 4 volumes sound plausible enough,
nah they are better not saying they're the best LNs ever but they're definitely better, the market is just oversaturated and now we get unoriginal shit like >>135559500 coming out every fucking year
Right. It was more fun and didn't have needless melodrama. Also head pats.
For me, it's more of a balance between the plot of the story and the harem elements. I enjoyed Shana/Index/Zero because they weren't shoving the harem elements down my throat as hard as the stuff you read today. Not to mention, the characters in those older novels had a nostalgic flair that made them distinct unlike the ones you read in current novels.
Left because Stella.
I hated both shows but powered on through finishing them both. If I had to be honest Rakudai was much more better as a collective and had better developed characters. Whereas Asterisk just had me rolling my eyes constantly much more than Rakudai.
The first episode of Asterisk is like the studio dumping every anime cliche in existence into one episode. Horrendous.
Between the two girls, Stella but that isn't saying much.
What would you do to make Kirin blush and smile.
Kirin > Stella
Also I believe that Julis wore it better than Stella did.
Out of curiosity I compared the Volume 5 covers for all three LNs.
I find it kinda interesting how for Asterisk, Ayato isn't even on the cover. For Rakudai, Ikki is there but has his back turned. But for AntiMagic, Takeru is right there, glaring at you and grabbing the attention of the reader.
All the Anti Magic volumes got way more dynamic after Volume 4.
She did the fire tsundere princess better too imo.
>Fire girl with a hothead
>But can't handle spicy food
Yeah, they're more than just "characters on white background".
The first four volumes didn't really convince me the first time I saw them. Glad they changed it up real nice to reflect actual plot taking place.
Right had too many generic female characters and a very herbivore protagonist with a setting that has been seen a million times and is a shitty IS clone. Left was strangely better even though it does not have efficient world building or setting like Asterisk does.
I wanna try some Mabo Tofu...
