The judging was a bit tough this year, but the clear winner now stands tall.
If your AOTY isn't Lupin III, then you are literally retarded.
I thought it was already decided with the survey results
OWARANAI UTA WO UTAUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Yeah I agree.
Rokka was clearly AOTY.
dem backgrounds tho
>The Rolling Girls
>Rokka no Yuusha
All average at best, Rolling Girls OST was top tier enough that I did buyfag it.
It's just one fucking troll
And rightfully so.
Did rolling girls get better? I thought it was going to be a wacky adventure with colorful art, but the first arc just totally destroyed any interest I had in the show and turned it into a bland SoL with colorful art.
Individual story is pretty mediocre that painted a pretty messy overall experience.
It could've been a very interesting anime otherwise since there's way too much shit that can be explored with just the base premise.
Winter: Death Parade
Spring: Hibike Euphonium
Summer: NNB: R
Fall: Nothing but OPM if I had to choose one thing
AOTY: NNB: Repeat
Technically, there's nothing wrong with having such kinds of shows as one's personal favorite anime of the past year.
What is more annoying is however that they always use bait-meme thread titles.
I always get triggered so hard by these threads.
there was only one good tv show this year and it gets memed on pretty badly
no one ever mentions movies
no one ever mentions the animator expo
everyone has bad taste except for me
We had a Monogatari this year. Anyone that chose anything else is either a gigantic hipster or a plebeian.
That and the OST were the only good things about this shit show. The threads were pretty much dead halfway into the season too, I don't understand where the fanwank for this show keeps coming from.
The only good thing to come out of Euphoshit was that one Takeda Hiromitsu doujin.
People just can't fathom that an anime can be so fun and entertaining that everyone likes it, so instead they want to pick something campy with little girls so westerners feel awkward watching it. Fucking get over yourselves, people just dont want to pick this anime because it raises the bar.
It was a good show, but I don't think it really sets or even meets the bar. Outside of a few cuts it felt a bit lacking. I liked it quite a bit, but I'm already a fan so it'd be super hard to make me hate it. What do you see in it that was so special?
Are you implying the majority of posts about OPM aren't made by underages? I'm not even saying anything about the quality of the show, just that "everyone likes it" is a really ridiculous claim.
This is supposed to apply to Hibike.
There's just something about nano.RAPE
But he's right, it had way too much exposition, an unrewarding climax and not nearly enough spooky ougi. The only really great thing in the second half was Kanbaru confronting Shinobu.
If anything, Rokka was just forgettable. The glacial pacing really crippled it. It wasn't the kind of story that benefited from that. It just felt like everything was being dragged out for one absurdly long whodunnit. The entire premise never even got off the ground. All you're left with is another adaptation that doesn't go anywhere and only serves as an advertisement for the source.
Personally, I had a hard time even caring about any of the characters beyond maybe Fremy, and that was entirely on the strength of Aoi Yuuki's performance.
Sodachi was mainly just Hana with Hanekawa and Ougi spoonfeeding subtext to people who were too retarded to grasp the plot on their own. Mail addressed questions and conflicts that have existed since Kizu and is overall and did it while relating it to other characters and relationships in the story that wouldn't normally be thought of otherwise.
Simply put, anyone that prefers the former has an incredibly shallow appreciation for Monogatari in general.
>people don't think that 12 episodes was good pacing
You guys need to take your ADD pills. It's the one show with good pacing, one that is actually faithful to damn book it's based on. They set out to animate the book and that's exactly what they did. No butchering, no bullshit.
Non Non Biyori is AOTY and a better anime than Neon Genesis Evangelion.
It doesn't matter how great the story is if the execution falls short. And yes, you are pretentious for thinking you "get it" and people who prefer another arc don't, as if gatari wasn't always subtle as a nail to the forehead.
>he thinks monogatari is so complex that only he knows what's happening
I thought OPM was only for tasteless autists?
>hilario0us slapstick gagaroonies!1
>look at the pretty lights
>next level satire so deep and original
>seconds upon seconds of character development
How is this even a contest?
The Rolling Girls is really good too.
Non Non Biyori Repeat, no question for me.
