When I was 16 I used to lock myself in my room and watch anime the whole fucking week over Christmas holiday free time.

Back in 2005 I played Ragnarok and watched anime I did nothing else the whole 1 month of Christmas break.

I remember my DVD-Rom broke down becaue I watched 40 episodes of it from the DVD thats 13 hours of constant DVD playback from a single DVD.

The laser just gave up and it got so hot when I ejected the DVD it had an air bubble

From then on I copy to HDD. Not that it's relevant anymore my 600 DVD collection is sitting in the attic never to be watched because I watched it all. Pirated naturally.

Now I watched depending on season 1-7 or 15-30 per week.

lets see, I watch about an average of 3.5 episodes of anime/day, so 3.5*7 is about 24 episodes/week

Yeah there was a point where I was doing 20 episodes a day for a while but I decided to get into some games and read some manga to get some variety in there. This is my manga list.

I have at least 3~5 cheaters to read a day.

It's actually frustrating how little there is to read.

I've been in the anime mango shit for well over 15 years now. I started with a 56k modem downloading .rm format anime that was 320×240 and blurry as fuck with horrid hard coded subtitles...

Then came the 64k Cable Modem but it had Flatrate and from onwards there were milestones like, it takes me less then 12 hours to download a 250 MB "Full Quality" episode, it takes me only 6 hours to download it.

The biggest milestone I remember by far was when I realized it takes me as long to download an anime episode as it takes to watch it! That was revolutionary holy fuck only 30 minutes for one episode!

I tried to learn Japanese it was too boring. Not the language it's the writing system. I don't care for 1500 kanji. I write latin like I'm using my foot. I can also understand quite a lot while just watching Raw anime but reading I can't do no thank you.

I boast. I speak all of them pretty damn well. But honestly I don't care about Japanese enough. Theres no one to interact with the reason I know the above is because I can visit these countries, I can play online games with people I can chat.

Japan is 600 Ping away so I can't ever play any real games, I can play Tenhou mahjong at most and I did that it got boring, there no one to talk to about my interests because most Japanese people that want to learn English or German are big normies and I don't do well with sports or any kind of normal things.

So why do I mention it? I think I'm trying to tell you look at all the things I've done and they're done it's easy. Japanese is simply too hard.

I live 70 kilometers from the Hungarian border, I get hungarian TV, my grandfather speaks hungarian, but I never learned it. Why? It's too hard and has very little uses.
