What's the worst case of Engrish you've ever heard either in anime or in anime related media?
Why can't nips hire people who can speak non-accented english for english lines? I mean it doesn't have to even be a professional VA. It can't be that hard to find someone who speaks it fluently and normally, right?
I mean I'm certain most of /a/ would do it for free.
Raging Heart is voiced by an Australian ex-pat -- but still got given lines in Engrish like "I can still be shot".
Why do Japanese people talk in that weird pitched voice when speaking English as opposed to their regular voice. Is this how they think it sounds?
This was so cute though.
>tfw you will never introduce your swimming friend to your Aussie parents
>Rin says you only swim free
>Haru, you only swim FREE?
What a fucking hack.
This maybe more exciting than cleavage of your waifu OP
Because most japs don't know any better, it's not worth the effort of finding perfect English speakers for what's usually a handful of lines as very few people would notice anyway.
Eh I only remember HanaKana saying it. That's the only bit of the movie I remember. Fact, that's the only remotely enjoyable part of it.
That and seeing the first nigger in anime since the 90's
The only people in Japan with good English are either foreigners or people who studied at international academies, and neither of those are likely to work as VAs.
I know there are few VAs who do speak English fluently - mainly because they're mixed and lived in some English speaking country for a while - but they are never used to speak English.
I also assume there's a chance the directors think that since the source material used katakana, then that should be kept.
Asians don't seem to care much about realism and accuracy when it comes down to entertainment, unlike Westerners who will bitch at anything that deviates, even slightly, from whatever they deem as correct, accurate and realistic.
The one that comes to my head most, and he's not a VA but an actor, is the guy who played Kabuto in Kamen Rider Kabuto. When he speaks English, it's like he's a completely different person. No accent or anything.
>THE PLACE IS A LOFTY LORD CAN'T MEET NOBODY PUT ON
That's because they chose someone who already did things like PA announcements on the shinkansen.
