IS yu-gi-oh still fun to play?
I dug out my old light deck, and gravekeepers deck. I stopped playing shortly after they introduced tuners. I looked at the banned list and it doesn't seem too crazy, unlike Magic and Pokemon.
Is it worth getting back into?
It depends. Do you want a card game with player interaction? Where games last longer then 2, maybe three turns? Where you have to wait for hours just for your opponent to finish a combo? If you do, then yes its very much worth getting back into.
Just play online, it's free and you don't have to deal with as much meta game bullshit. I mean it's still there but you also find more people playing older/more fun decks.
no, wide variety of control decks were a necessary evil, but now they're basically gone
Is that how it is now? The games I used to play varied in times. I have a few friends who I found out are interested in playing with me. I think I can convince two of my other friends to get into it as well.
>sacrifice my card to special summon Summoned Skull
>Attack opponent card faced down
>It's Man Eater Bug
Seriously, why did this fucker exist?
Oh, another grave-keeper brother.
Yeah, it's still fun but only on the casual scene. The current meta is crazy as fuck with pendulums and R4 toolboxes. Grave-keepers are funnier than ever tough.
You can like this archetype based on their design.
Do you hear that?
It's the sound of chaos and confusion.
You had just ONE JOB.
You could have got 134644442, 134644444, OR 134644445, but you got that instead?
Why are you such a huge off by 1 baka?!
HE EVEN GOT :22:22 AND YOU MESSED IT UP
No because it is a money-pit in order to be competitive at all and basically all local events are fairly competitive. Just before tuners came out they started making 50+ dollar cards that were staples in tier 1 decks. That means you'd need to have three in your deck in order to actually get it running smoothly. The cycle is: introduce a 30-200+ dollar staple card that the top decks need 3 of. Ban it or limit it one or two formats later. Introduce new cards. Repeat.
idk I knew a lot of people who made badass decks on the cheap. A lot of people used ebay to their advantage back when I used to play more competitively. I'd never usually get passed round 2, but I'd always have fun playing.
Holy shit a new animated movie with the original characters!
I might actually watch this for nostalgia
