That's an interview with Universal's producer, not Kagami. The "shocking event" is related with the "Seraph of the End" so it's most likely what happened in chapter 39.

By the way, that interview was done in May. This means that if the shocking event really is chapter 39, then they knew what was going to happen in all the chapters up to that one well in advance. They have been animating all of this before the manga chapters were drawn. I wonder if that is why there's a couple of differences here and there, like locations or overall direction.

After I spent 3 hours dissecting and figuring out this initial outfit, it become simple to draw. I've only drawn Mika's hair nice twice. I've hated all others and want to hurt myself from it. It's like.. got two main spike layers, then there's the layer I call the "puppy ears" that are on either side of his face. That weird ohage that the wind cannot bend. the swoosh at the bangs, etc. I hate drawing Mika. His eyes in particular give me pain.

If Crowley dies: Their deaths won't be far apart. It'll at least be in the same series of battles, if not moments away from each other or even simultaneously.

If Crowley lives: I couldn't see both of them dying, if either of them do. As for which one dies, Chess seems like the more disposable of the two, sadly. Horn would get angry at Chess's death and seek revenge, while Chess might cry and then move on. Although, in terms of popularity, while neither have gotten loads of focus from the Japanese fanbase, Chess has gotten a little more than Horn, so maybe that would play to her favor.

This is of course assuming that they stay with Crowley. Like I said before, I can see a third scenario where Crowley abandons them and they get picked up Krul, which would greatly increase their chances of survival.

I thought it was implied Krul was hiding the fact she'd turned Mika, so that it wouldn't be discovered that she'd disobeyed her orders to destroy all the Seraphs. Since Ferid was aware of this and yet was seemingly going along with her plans, he had leverage over her and she couldn't get rid of him without raising suspicions.

Thus Mika couldn't actively disobey him and had to go along with his whims, both because he was outranked and because he had a vested interest in Krul's deception not being found out.

As long as there aren't sparkles and the blood sucking lasts for over 45 seconds, it may not end up too bad. One of the things I enjoyed about the scene was that the event wasn't lingered on. It happened, and it was over. Much like Mila getting his arm ripped off and getting a hole in his chest. It was quick. If it had been in slow-motion, I may have not had the autistic reaction I did.
