Why is Kaneki a good main character?

Last week there was a holiday, so spoilers were early.

There won’t be spoilers on Sunday, because there isn’t delivery service on Sundays, so there won’t be magazines delivered to stores that day.

There won’t be spoilers on Monday, because the raw provider has lessons the whole day. From the shop’s opening hours to closing hours they will be having lessons, and since the shop is at least half an hour away from the school, it’s impossible for them to make it. Plus we can’t make them skip school every week to buy the magazine, so we have no choice but to give up on that.

We used to advertise every week looking for raw providers because we were afraid of situations where raw providers couldn’t get the raws. But no one came forward, or if they did they were unable to scan the raws. It’s not like they could scan it at a shop, that would be like getting caught red-handed.

And there won’t be spoilers on Tuesday too, because at the moment it’s confirmed that one of the stores selling the magazines is closed on Tuesdays.

It's just the logical advantages they would have over one another, like Koukaku being good against Ukakus because the Koukaku's high defenses can shrug off the Ukaku's attacks, and easily win the long-battle against the stamina-weak Ukaku ghouls.
Rinkaku excell at strong, critical strikes, so against the slower Koukaku ghouls they can find an opening, but the Bikaku ghouls are more well-rounded and won't provide such openings, which gives Bikakus the advantage against Rinkakus. And so forth.
