After Bake the harem and fanservice went up a lot. I still like the franchise but I feel like it had a lot more going for it back in the Bake days.

The first half of second season didn't have "lots of harem stuff." There were only two arcs with Araragi in them. The only one that comes close in Shinobu Time, where he was surrounded by lolis.
