Is Shinobu referring to her first servant?
Back when the 6 titles for Second Season was announced, I think Nisio probably had Oni planned as being the book for the story about Kiss-Shot's first servant (mentioned in Kizu) reincarnating, so laid the foreshadowing in Neko White and Kabuki, but then presumably changed plans after writing Kabuki and ended up expanding the series.
>Ararago and Monkey exchanging hoodies
My dick. Why did she have to be a lesbian?
No, while he originally didn't plan to write Second Season at all, I'm pretty sure he had the whole overarching plot of Second Season and Final Season mapped out from the start of SS.
I know some people will prefer to think that Nisio is a master of ruses and anything that differs from what was announced was actually just as planned, but personally I'm more inclined to believe Nisio himself.
Kabuki afterword: he talks a bit about having rough time with it and it ended up being very different from what it was announced to be.
Otori afterword: he mentions Oni would be about the cram school incident.
Oni afterword: prays that he's misremembering having written that.
Owari 2 afterword: says its content (along with Oni) was supposed to be in Kabuki and had given up on it.
So I was wrong: the plans for this story changed even while he was trying to write Kabuki.
That's the individual arcs. I said overarching plot. He had an overall idea of where he was going and what he was building up to, but hadn't decided on the specific content of each arc. But that's why there's so much foreshadowing of events that come like 7 volumes later.
Nobody plans their whole stories out down to the letter. I never said that.
No, you are completely retarded. "Overarching plot" is exactly what it means. You sounded like you were implying that Nisio didn't mean to extend the series for as long as he did, which would be silly because he clearly had to whole plot with Ougi going, too.
Her mom was right all along. It was all her fault.
>You sounded like you were implying that Nisio didn't mean to extend the series for as long as he did
If what was planned to be in Kabuki ended up taking 3 books to finally tell, and apparently for a time he had given up on writing what came in Owari 2, and originally Final Season was announced as being just Tsuki (Yotsugi Doll), Owari (Ougi Dark), Zoku Owari (Koyomi Book), there's no good reason for believing he didn't.
>which would be silly because he clearly had to whole plot with Ougi going, too.
No, it's silly to think that follows. You don't know plans for Ougi didn't change, like plans for Kabuki did.
I think you're confused. Zoku Owari wasn't originally part of the plan at all.
They clearly didn't change completely, because the foreshadowing is all clear and lined up. He may have changed what came between, but he knew where he was taking it.
>I didn't go to math school
>I went to domestic abuse
Reminder that monkey is a phony
>she's a self-proclaimed exhibitionist.
>constantly hits on Araragi.
>when they're swapping sweat shirts, she zips up his and takes off hers from under it so he doesn't see her boobs again.
Mayoi Hell 001
>“I’d gladly die just to see Mayoi Hachikuji one more time.” Would it be surprising if I said that the thought had crossed my mind? The truth of the matter, however, is that it’s no exaggeration. There was a time when I truly thought that in order to see that cheerful girl one more time, I’d happily throw away both my life and my immortality—which, of course, raises the question of why I never did just that.
>That’s because as much as I was willing to die—or perhaps even more strongly than that—I also felt that I wanted to live, and that there were things I still had to accomplish while alive. That feeling was rooted in the presence of my family and my lover, of my saviors and my friends. Of course, you could claim that trying to calculate human feelings in terms of addition and subtraction, or even ratios, is misguided and indiscreet, and you’d be right. I wouldn’t be able to argue with that. However, it’s just as true that people—or at least I—don’t have enough self-discipline to sacrifice themselves for just one feeling. As hopelessly narrow as my field of vision is, and as inclined as I am to brood and agonize, I’m just as easily distracted. I can easily go back on my word, and I twist my convictions at the drop of a hat. He who grasps all and loses all—that’s me. That’s Koyomi Araragi.
>“I won’t make friends, because my strength as a human will decrease.”
>The way that phrase feels almost nostalgic now speaks to how weak I’ve become. I’ve become weak as a human. Hopelessly, desperately weak. And weakest of all is that I don’t even hate how weak I’ve become—I can’t bring myself to despise my weak self. How very spineless. I can’t say that it doesn’t aggravate me, but I can firmly declare that this is who I am. I can assert that this is Koyomi Araragi. Not without shame—but with shame, I can proclaim that.
>But I’m sure there are others who can’t accept how weak I’ve become. There must be someone who considers me, a person who’s continued to survive in spite of how weak I’ve grown, to be an unforgivable sinner. I’m not one to miss that there’s someone looking at me, who managed to survive that hellish spring break and keep living on, like they wish I’d just die. For example, I’m sure a certain transfer student, the one always gazing at me with pitch black eyes, would say this:
>“Honestly. You’re such a fool, Araragi-senpai.” Honestly. That’s exactly right. Only death can cure stupidity. But then again, if it only takes death to cure it, perhaps stupidity isn’t such a serious disease, after all.
If you do have decent nip I do recommend reading them; they're entertaining novels. But don't expect to be able to do much discussion, there's maybe only like two or three readers who post in these threads.
I've translated bits and pieces here and there, whatever strikes my fancy, for several months. I don't think I've done any Koyomi excerpts. Biggest thing I've done is the second half of Sodachi Riddle 004 (where Sodachi stabs him), last thing I've done is the bit in Zokuowari where
I wonder how much Oshino actually told Shinobu about the exorcist world and how much she came to know on her own.
Yozuru seems to think high enough of herself that Araragi should automatically know who she is from name alone.
I'm wondering if that's because she assumed Oshino would have told Araragi about her or because she would figure that Shinobu would have.
Shinobu does actually have respect for Yozuru so it's not unfathomable Shinobu would know another immortal killer on reputation alone.
I was surprised that Araragi was also wearing a tanktop considering he's half naked during the tiger arc
>tfw didn't realize she had elf ears until a couple of years ago
Araragi is only 5'5"
Tallest girl is Karen at 5'6", but in her true form Shinobu is 5'10" IIRC
Tallest guy should be Meme at 5'9", not sure how he is compared to Kaiki and haven't bothered to check
So yeah, Araragi is a manlet by far. The one thing I don't like about heights in anime with Japanese characters is they keep the Japanese height but look no different from Europeans.
Shinobu is European, I'd assume, so she gets the height but looks exactly like everyone else, basically
Kiss-shot was originally the one got all the shit going there. The first servant absorbed all the Kaii stuff, which he used to power himself up. The reason he is coming back the first was because he seen how well Shinobu and Araragi was getting along. Which made him regret and somewhat jealous. That in itself is hilarious considering the asshole first was.
I want to know Sodachi height. By the anime she is a little shorter than Hanekawa, but I assume there isn't info for her.
>noone yet made gifs of yotsugi pressing her foot against rararagi's face
I want Ougi to put her sleeves close to my erect dick.
Then, I want her sleeves to slowly descend over my erect manhood so that I can feel her soft, pale hand stroke my dick as I ejaculate all over the insides of her sleeves.
I don't want to see her hands though.
>grabbing your woman's crotch from behind with one hand while grabbing her boobs with your other hand and licking her ear all the same time.
That's standard roleplay. I'd give you the one where she's wearing the glasses. Don't know what's supposed to be happening there.
she doesnt have hands and the sleeves are to hide the fact
Don't worry current-year fallacy man, it's STILL 2015 now
>that wasn't just a second sleeve
>implying spooky ougi isn't just one big sleeve
Wait, isn't Ougi actually Araragi's tulpa or something?
Doesn't that mean all the anons that want to sexual the Ougi also by proxy want to sexual the Araragi?
So being able to fuck Araragi and not be gay?...
It seems I'm once more forgotten how high anon's libido is.
I like monster just like any faggot out there but you should fuck off lad.
You got you if you are from /a/. Fucking faggot.
Yotsugi is a tiny bit taller since shes older, but Brononoki is actually fucking small. I think SHAFT just fucked up proportions and went quality in this shot >>134140177. It's noticable when compared to parts where all the budget went. Like the feet scene, where we can clearly see how tiny Yotsugi is compared to even Araragi.
Also reminder that Shinobu was small enough to fit in the basket on Rarararagi's bycicle.
Are you sure horriblesunbs are the best?
I just need owari to complete this life now(unitl kizu).
>someone who actually speaks Japanese
>defending commie memes
nobody believes you. literal weeaboo
Anyone who defends translations that literally just stick the original Japanese word in parentheses instead of making any effort to translate word play is, in fact, the actual weeaboo here.
Will we ever know what Shinobu's real name was?
Her human/birth name.
>all of those obscure shots will never get proper scans
>no art of doll with her hair down
>no art of doll wearing casual clothes
Just drive a railroad spike through my fucking skull.
Why not draw her with her hair down with casual clothes on?
More Shinobu/Ougi would be great.
Is this seriously happening right now? Are we really doing this?
>They're the only ones whose translations actually form coherent sentences and believable dialogue.
Are you serious? This is the exact opposite of what Aniplex/HS does. They're the ones with the overly literal translations.
Shush, you know what the fuck I mean. Regardless of how they get their shit it's still better.
I need to watch bake again, whoever I was using for subs then were bad as fuck. Had no clue what the conversation was hardly even about. Crunchy/horriblerips have come a long way.
at the very least i hope you re-watch the series when the BD's come out so you can actually read all the shit you've missed. CR doesn't re-release episodes when they fuck it up.
I don't into moon so I can't speak for the accuracy of the translations, but what I'm very proficient in is ENGLISH, and their ENGLISH syntax is way better than most of the shit I've seen, at least in general. Every sub group fucks up now and again but HS seems to do it less often.
>implying cat wouldn't submit to spooky cock
And I'm talking about English, too. I have no idea what your idea of good English is that you think HS reads at all smoothly. They translate directly from Japanese and make zero effort to make it sound like normal, conversational English.
beheading is essential in foreplay.
How do you not know this?
Cuddling with the rararagi while her breasts gently rub against his chest, all while his dick enjoys the sensation of her soft tummy skin. Also getting to press her face up to his amazing muscles.
There are probably some good pictures of them somewhere else. Don't give up man
>implying it can't just get one if it feels like it
It was about the monty hall problem, so it was obviously in Sodachi Riddle.
Weeaboo here and I defend translations like this. Can confirm.
We don't want to hear the translation group's version of the joke. We want to hear the author's version of the joke. The original. If that means TL Notes or parentheses then so fucking be it.
The author's original intention is more accurately conveyed through a modified version of the joke. A clunky translation devoid of any wit completely robs wordplay of its original purpose.
The author's wit and wordplay is conveyed in the author's native language. No translation will be what the author intended. Which is why a non-translation in the form of parentheses is preferable. In normal circumstances an English translation that gets the idea across is totally fine, but with Nisio-tier wordplay the joke IS the language. And it can only be conveyed as such.
If you want exactly the dialogue the author intended, you literally have no choice but to learn the language and not use a translation.
It's the job of a translator to find a way to adapt dialogue to the target language in a way that keeps the feel of the original. Just leaving half the line untranslated is not translating.
Is this an Ougi thread now? I have no objections.
Seems fair, last thread was a Sodachi and Hanekawa one.
I want there to be an excuse for Shaft to animate her in this dress.
Did you not read my post? I understand the idea behind translation and most of the time it's not a problem at all.
But in certain cases, like the monogatari wordplay, translation actively fucks the joke. It's just better (and easier) to put the words in parentheses.
She could show up wearing in the dress in Araragi's dream in Hitagi Rendezvous. While they're at it, I hope they give her the red dot in her eyes too.
She didn't do anything abnormal to trigger one apparition I guess, in particular involving animals.
Or her oddity is Koyomi, who keeps appearing and ruining her life whenever she has hope for the better.
Only in the class trial, but it was her sense of justice over her common sense there.
No, it was her being stupid spiteful bitch.
And the other situations are her fault too.
>Hurr durr let's give this guy math lessons in an overly-complicated plot to have him notice my shitty life and talk about it to his police parents
>Shit, that didn't work. It was definitely this guy's fault and not mine for not clearly asking him for help.
> Oh, look, it's that guy again. Let's completely antagonize him for not noticing my stupid attempt at having him fix my problems. It's definitely his fault, not mine.
And so on.
She was retarded and conceited as fuck and the only reason Araragi had to put with her shit is because he is a fucking beta.
Sure, an abused 12 years old terrified of her parents can easily sell them out, especially when they got more violent after she was taken by the cops.
The second point makes me think you didn't pay attention to her monologue, and the third doesn't even make sense.
>yfw she probably never wear the dress in the anime adaptation
I'm not saying she can, I'm just saying that expecting a young and stupid kid fearful of doing something he shouldn't because his cops parents would get mad to find out about her shitty life in such a way is stupid. And you can't blame it on her being just a child because she kept believing it 8 years later.
And I heard all of her monologues, and they were all full of shit. That's why I'm saying she is a conceited fuck.
The only thing she was right about was that Araragi was a stupid faglord for forgetting about her and her math lessons, which were key for the succesful life he is having right now, but everything else is pure bullshit, to the point that everyone who wasn't Araragi called her on how stupid her logic was.
>she kept believing it 8 years later
When did she even say that? The only thing she regretted was throwing away her pride there.
