The manga is popular.
But I agree, its vastly underrated. Its easily my favorite love story. I find it funny how one of the main criticisms is that it wasn't melodramatic.
The manga's one the more well known in japan.
As for here, or the west in general, it's due to >>134085190. Shoujo anime's just not popular with the western anime crowd. Western shoujofags tend to lean towards manga.
I'm GAR for Takeo
I loved Ore Monogatari.
Maybe I should start reading the manga.
When it was running there were tons of threads on /a/
>big guy is a weirdo and I hate him
>Oh big guy saved us from a fire/falling scaffold/car crash - I guess he's ok after all.
Too much of this shit. Would have been better as a one cour series.
I liked it a lot for the first few episodes.
The characters are enjoyable and I think the production quality is good.
My problem with it was the plot.
After Takeo and Rinko get together it felt like there was no more conflict or character development to be had.
Because Takeo is a giant(figuratively) gary stu, and once the show springs it's only surprise then the remaining 20 or so episodes were all predictable as shit. It's good for what it is, but anyone with taste is going to get tired of it sooner or later.
Both the OP and the ED were comfy as fuck. The series was comfy as fuck, I'm glad to had lived to see this.
Have the scans caught up to Japan?
