why the fuck is this show so popular? why do i see images from it everywhere?
its so fucking boring holy shit
Self-insertion male power fantasy otaku pandering gary stu harem protagonist, but this time it has lots of dialogue, stupid non-sequiturs, and pretentious philosophical non-sense, that allows the fans to pretend that it's DEEP. The retarded visuals that some faggot fresh from art college could come up with also helps.
>Self-insertion male power fantasy otaku pandering gary stu harem protagonist
A subjective, meaningless term like "boring" is not a legitimate criticism. By that kind of logic the following sentence is a legitimate criticism "every single anime released after the year 1975 is boring and you can't prove me wrong."
you're 2underaged and got shit taste. Nothing special.
I like it FOR the words.
I want crab to verbally abuse me and then make 180-turn and dere me up lovingly.
This, i'm so fucking tired of people who screamed "MONOGATARI IS SO DEEP GUYZ, YOU'RE JUST TOO STUPID TO REALIZE IT OLOLOLOL. THE FANSERVICE SCENE? NAH BRAH, THAT SCENE HAS SO MUCH SYMBOLISM THAT IT'S NOT FANSERVICE AT ALL!!!!!111". Those retard are dellusional faggot who won't admit that the show have a lot of fanservice scene and harem elements.
An anime adapted from a dialogue-centric novel by an author renowned for dialogue has a lot of dialogue, how unexpected! One would think from your post that you're implying dialogue and fanservice are bad things.
>will be viewed as nothing as bait by obnoxious monogatarifags
>"WAHHH! Y U LIEK THIS SRSS?? IT'S BORING!"
>gets given points
>"HURR YOURE ALL JUST FAGS!"
Is this satire? Sarcasm doesn't come across too strongly on the internet. No one pretends Monogatari doesn't have fanservice, some people argue it isn't a harem but that's on the basis of a technicality, everyone accepts it has the character of a harem. The point people make is that there's nothing inherently wrong with those two things, a meaningful criticism would be arguing how those elements are in anyway to its detriment in terms of plot or character development, although I doubt anyone in this friend is honestly intelligent enough to think of it in that advanced a way.
Except nobody says that. You are the delusional one here, The show is 60% comedy and fanservice, and everyone knows that.
The only points given by OP:
>BAWW IT'S SO SHIT!
Nah i'm serious. I met some dude who literally screamed at me because i said that monogatari have too much fanservice. And he went on and on about how those scene have a lot of "symbolism" "deep meaning" and i'm just an uneducated faggot who is too stupid to realize it. And that happens not just once, several times in fact. Also i don't like harem so yeah.
it has WAY too little of it, according to my penis
*close up smile*
*wide angle landscape shot*
*cut to people standing still*
*zoom into random body part*
a pretty cool
*fast zoom into eyes*
*back to standing still*
*background becomes sepia tone*
*zoom into pelvis*
*zoom into mouth*
>talking about anime in real life
Found your problem.
>waaaah I met a very bad person who screamed at me and therefore I feel obliged to make a thread about how shit this show because I'm so mad waaaaaaaah
Underage, go back to fucking tumblr.
Nope, the thing it's that in this animé every detail matters, the way they put it with images and mixed stuff just makes this anime be different from a lot of the same type. Listen, if you don't like it, it´s ok, but don't say stupid things about a great show that many of us enjoy.
when i first watched bakemonogatari season 1 i thought it was boring too. then i enjoyed nisemonogatari far more due to the ramped up fanservervice and silliness.
now it's one of my favourite shows of all time and i should definitely rewatch season 1
Even someone like me who wasn't used to anime with a lot of dialogue found Bake to be genuinely interesting. Between a nice use of Japanese mythology with a very dark approach (Bake is very brutal and crude, just look at Araragi vs. Kanbaru), an atmosphere very reminiscent of occultism, some good sakuga, some banter and genuinely funny gimmicks, good character presentation development and an awesome direction, it's pretty much one of the pillars of the series right now. No other show feels like Bakemonogatari, and only Second Season managed to surpass it inside the series but for different reasons.
people only like it because of the girls.. anime has fallen pretty damn hard. This cancerous show is terrible and highly overrated. Anyone who likes it is literally inexperienced on what a great anime should be about.
i think my expectations were too high. i waited after it first aired, until the blurays came out to watch it for the first time.
this was 5 years ago, maybe I'd enjoy it a lot more in a rewatch.
There is no such thing as an anime genre I don't like. It's just when noobs start spreading cancerous shit, praising it with no real reason, that is when I have to put my foot down.
You are a dumbass.
Yes people like this show only because he girls. Why is that a bad thing? Every single girl in this show is fantastically fleshed out character with a believable and unique personality. The whole fucking reason Monogatari threads have such huge Waifu fights is because all the girls are so fucking well designed that absolutely no one can agree which girl they all feel is the best.
This is the most perfected Harem anime ever made
I wasn't implying that you didn't like it because of its genre, I was implying it doesn't appeal to you because your subjective preferences in storytelling. Some people prefer character interactions, word play, and comedic value over other things which other anime tend to focus on. Your entire premise that people only watch it for the fanservice and the girls is easily dismissed just by noting how popular the novels are.
Same with everyone else in the thread
Because it ruins what separates good anime from bad fool!
Are you kidding? go check out the LN sales! before coming at me bro! waifu tards are what's literally making the show popular as stated by that guy >>134074791
Do you two not speak English as your first language or something? Because you guys literally sound like 12 year olds and it is making it less and less obvious what your point is. Is your point that anime that have harem elements are objectively, inherently bad? Because that's an extremely stupid position to take.
>literally inexperienced on what a great anime should be about
I thought Bake was alright, A certainly interesting twist on the usual harem shenanigans.
Can't really be bothered to follow the rest of the series up yet.
Snail best girl, (In Bake anyway.)
This show became 200% better when I found out Araragi gets a boner thinking of his delijuicy sisters.
Good shows always have traces of wincest
Well, it's totally okay if you don't like it.
I think that the board's creation is a die hard opinion that no one really gives a shit about. All this board is saying is"wah, why do people like this show" "oh you're a faggot for not liking this show" "wah you're a faggot for liking the show" Honestly this board was just created because some douchebag couldn't accept that some people enjoy things that he/she doesn't enjoy
Seriously, from what I've seen/read about the show honestly isn't that bad. A little fanservice never hurt anyone
I think we need to save this thread by posting monkey
Have you been living under a heavy object?
As a fan of the series, I actually agree with this. I couldn't get into the series for a long time because of this, particularly because a lot of the meandering dialogue has zero impact on character development or anything else happening.
At the end of the day, though, Nisio is a pretty good writer who comes up with good characters and development and generally has something of substance to say.
