Basically after the two main characters were the only ones with an extra evolution for a while, they introduced a gimmick of having the other characters give up their digimon forms and become completely useless in order for the two maims to get a new form each. Said new forms then proceeded to job to two royal Knights for 10 episodes before defeating them out of nowhere because they got used to fighting them or some shit. It's a shame. What do you think realistically everyone's crest should've been? If I can recall correctly, everyone was scanned like three or four years prior to when they went into the Digimon world so it makes sense that certain things might've changed by then making their strongest ability different. For example the divorce really hit Yamato hard and you have to admit he wasn't a good friend to Taichi and the others until right towards the end so it might've been a better idea to assign the crest to how they were like at the present.
