The same or better that I would expect from someone named after a woodwind instrument
>Vegeta confirmed for maximum tsundere
>Goku confirmed for loving his wife
Piccolo's reaction is great
Hm... even though Piccolo popped up alongside Goku and Vegeta right after the talk about the tournament, Buu wasn't there. I guess this supports the speculation that he won't actually join them. He might end up reproved by the writing test and replaced by someone else.
I love that reaction as well but mostly because I would guess anyone in the world that aren't Goku or Vegeta will wonder why both ended up with Chichi and Bulma, I mean Goku is a functional retard and Vegeta was a mass murder maniac with some rampant Napoleon complex.
nah, the animated adaption was always shit compared to the manga, just see the pacing in the manga with the clusterfuck done by Toei
>but muh fgood filler chapters
There's a reason why some retards believe Garlick Jr, Maron or Yamcha defeating Recoome in afterworld are canon
The pacing in the manga is awful too though. It's going way too fast.
DBS' problem is just that they chose to retell the movies, but at least they're going through Revival of F quicker than they were with Battle of Gods. They dragged BoG out for ages for some reason.
The manga is meant to just be a summary of the anime anyway iirc, so it's probably going to speed through the actual tournament while the anime will go more in depth.
Episode 21 Frieza's goons vs everyone
Episode 22 Tagoma curbstomps everyone
So since Gohan is gonna job to Tagoma, I hope Piccolo is the one to defeat him. It would be a prelude to his participation in the next arc.
>Gohan acts like gohan
>Gohanfags mad because he isn't the badass mary sue they want him to be
I'm convinced the majority of the Gohan fanbase doesn't like Gohan, just his haircut and his bullshit powerups.
Oh jesus. I only watched the Buu Saga when I was but a wee boy. But didn't Gohan fucking destroy Perfect Cell when he was just a kid? I know after thay he became kinda lame but I still remember him doing shit to Buu. Man Goku ur2savage4me.
Gohan only destroyed cell because he was handheld-trained by Goku and then dragged kicking and screaming into SSJ2.
Basically, the only times Gohan does shit is if he has no alternative whatsoever and gets powerups handed to him.
Anyone else dislike Toyotaro's art? It's too soft.
I wish we still got pages like this.
>Piccolo confirmed as the straight man.
Let's hope Toriyama doesn't kek him too hard in the tournament. I want to see based Piccolo arm extension and giant size like in Dragon Ball.
>Piccolo and Buu
I don't understand how they're supposed to be useful when Goku and Vegeta now have god level ki and the last person is stronger than both according to Beerus. Are they going to get power ups or are they going to be fighting against the weakest of the bunch?
>Turned out better than his dead beat retard dad.
How so? Goku at least can protect his family when shit goes down.
What is Gohan gonna do, pull the same embarassing shit he pulled in Resurrection of F, hide with the rest of failures like Yamcha?
Goku isn't the one who would worry about getting his wife raped in front on him, that's for sure.
well they need 5 people and beerus and whis can't compete because of the tournament's rules and gohan is too busy studying
buu and piccolo are then the strongest characters after goku and vegeta who can enter the tournament
>Piccolo never once stopped training, he is strong.
Huh? Now that's some strong headcanon.
Piccolo stopped training by the time fused with Kami, after that any sparring he had was to train Gotenks, he pretty much became the voice of reason instead of a dude who uses his fists.
Still strong though, after Goku and Vegeta.
Gohan's hybrid rage powers occasionally assisting the main heros was always a great dynamic. Raditz fight, 2nd form Frieza, Cell, Mystic vs Buu
Just sucks that it's not a thing anymore
>Goku says he loves Chi-Chi in this page
>Chi-Chi's face is the first one he sees when he's about to die in BoG
I would say that if you read the manga Goku loving his family is plainly obvious, but there's a contingent of idiots out there that think Goku doesn't love his family.
>if you read the manga
I'm not disputing the fact Goku loves his family, but care to point what scene other than Goku promissing to take Gohan to go fishing together shows more of that?
Most scenes with Goku being loving is all Anime filler (the longing look between Goku and Chi-chi after he convinced her to let Gohan train for the Cell Games being a classic), not that it's a bad thing, it was a cool expansion, but still filler.
Mentors Dende on being the Kami.
It's not toriyama drawing, it's girl slave, I mean his disciple.
Toriyama now only draws a few promos for Dragonball and Dragon Quest, nothing taxing like having to draw a whole manga again.
Also you are understimating mangakas, some oldtimers even older than Toriyama still work, Akimoto from Kochikame for one, he was making Kochikame before Toriyama even got in WSJ's office and still does so decades after Dragonball ended.
Gohan was meant to defeated Super Buu, but Toriyama changed his mind. Until RoF Gohan was handdle good. Hell, even in the SoL episodes Gohan said he was going to train. But in this chapter that plot was dropped. The only thing I am saying is that Gohan training and being a bookworn would add more deep to his character. The same with Videl.
>Gohan was handle good
He never once in the whole series dedicated himself seriously to training unless he had no choice, and during the period of peace after cell he stopped giving a fuck. Gohan beating super buu would have been shit because he'd just be winning with the powerup pulled from Elder Kai's ass, and also you're likely pulling that factoid out of your ass too.
>care to point what scene other than Goku promissing to take Gohan to go fishing together shows more of that?
Pretty much the entirety of the latter half of the Cell Saga is about Goku and Gohan's father/son relationship.
Not to mention that Z starts with Goku sacrificing his life to save Gohan.
You mean the part where Goku trains gohan without telling him anything about his plans and displays a remarkable lack of understanding of Gohan's character that literally SATAN had to point out for him?
The biggest issue seems to be with the abridged crew playing the deadbeat dad card too hard and too often. Then again Goku isn't exactly present for a lot of Z, but when he is he does try and be a good dad.
There are millions of far more effective ways to make money than selling books, but it's not like Gohan needs money and his wife is rich as hell.
Goku farming, now THAT'S retarded and another can of worms. Chichi is ashamed of Goku so she forces him to do pointless work like that. What a cunt.
Goku grew up a farmer. He lived off the land before he met Bulma. It has nothing to do with Chi-Chi.
>Chichi is ashamed of Goku so she forces him to do pointless work like that. What a cunt.
That's not at all how it is. She wishes every day Goku would get used to a normal job instead of fighting and training because she's worried. And she knows a retard like Goku can't do anything too complicated, so she tried farming
You see her get stressed and worried over Goku and Gohan all the time throughout the series, she doesn't like the fighting
After the saiyan saga Gohan trained by his own choice. Nobody forced him, after the Cell saga it was implied he stopped training as everyone because they truly believe Goku's words. In the Buu saga there was a moment where Gohan regreted no training.
In Super this point was brough back for a moment.
If you want to say Gohan doesnt desire to be the strongest, then you are right. But Toriyama has dropped mant plots with Gohan that added deep to his character.
Goku leaving would still have brought the saiyans, the cyborgs and cell to earth.
And honestly that was a dumbshit excuse because Tori wanted to try making Gohan the protagonist.
I don't think you know what "farming" means.
He dropped out of school after like seven YEARS and only because Videl was blackmailing him to enter the Budokai. Try again.
He trained at his leisure and didn't improve noticeably at all.
And I'm not sure that scene isn't anime only either.
>didn't improve noticeably at all.
Are you baiting? Gohan trained with Piccolo and in one year he was able to use ki blast, after that in Namek he was able to make Frieza sweat. In the Cell saga he achieved SSJ2 before Goku and you know what happened in the Buu saga.
Gohan is one who made more improvements. And the anime is closer to Toriyama's script, Toyotaro interprets his script in his own and draw the manga.
Anon, at least you can lurk more before posting. Gohan was number one during the Cell saga, after the Cell saga Toriyama said he was going to be the MC, but in the end (during the time Gohan was facing Buutenk) he changed his mind.
Nope, just Gohan against Cell, but since he only had one arm functional, he couldn't do a full powered kamehameha, and so, daddy helped. Also, Vegeta threw a small ki blast to Cell's face to distract him.
Bra was born the year after Pan was born. So her appearance could be anywhere between 9 and 24 months after Pan was born.
Bulma MIGHT be in her first trimester right now, but if she isn't, that's still ok.
Nah, just going by memory.
Then again, i haven't watched/read that part in a decade or so.
Toriyama changed the ending for some reason (please don't start with the speech: moonies wanted Goku back).
They could had used Kibitoshin to bring Gohan or Gotenks to end Buu, but Toriyama didn't do that.
I fucking love Jaco.
Even on the page where we see Bulma talking to Tights, there's a picture of Jaco on the calendar taking a selfie with Beerus during Resurrection of F.
Also a preemptive fuck you to Toei for not giving Jaco an OVA before Super started, much less skipping out on an opportunity to have Jaco, Ginyu/Tamago and Gohan have a sentai 'pose off'.
Piccolo trains after fusing with kami
Before going to the cell games goku mentions it. Honestly if Dende is the Guardian of earth piccolo really has nothing better to do anyways and he has already trained most his life. I doubt he would just stop.
>Everything after the Cell games is basically fan fic tier. nothing of value lost
Kill yourself, anon.
100 YEARS LATER AND "GOHANFAGS" ARE STILL MAD
And I used to think Noefags were bad, you "Gohanfags" take butthurt to a whole new level.
Who I" don't give a fuck about Gohan being a fighter because he's happy, millonaire, has a hot wife, cute daughter, hits the books and has everything made" here?
MUH GOHAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE SUPER DUPER BEST FIGHTER EVER WHY DID TORIYAMA "KEK" HIM NOW I CAN'T SELF-INSERT ON A SUPER BADASS WHO GETS STRONGER AS HE GET ANGRIES plebs don't need to apply.
fuck you man... thats not even funny... like i actually stopped and thought about it for a minute... not cool
altho it would be funny if they were "ssj4" and totally jobbed to like piccolo, and then they explained it as some BS half weremonkey transformation that was stupid
You seem madder than anyone in this thread anon.
Are the Gohan should be the strongest mememasters the same people who perpetuate the Goku is a deadbeat dad meme too?
I sweat DB fanbase is the worst fanbase ever of anything. Even the most cancerous tumblr ones are better than it.
I'm just saying it's not too far fetched if the writers just wanted to say piccolo kept his training up for convenience purposes, he still shouldn't be stronger than Cell though
>Romance bullshit in my DBZ
Not Muh Toriyama writing. This shit is garbage.
I still don't get why people keep thinking there will be people from U6 Earth when it is explicitely stated that U6 Earth was ravaged by war and there's no one left there.
Do people even read before discussing here?
>posts caps lock - the post
>calls other mad
>Vegeta still believes in Gohan somewhat.
Vegeta doesn't even believe in his own kid, much less Goku's. He was literally stating the obvious. If Vegeta believed in Gohan as much as you fags says he does, in your headcanon, he would have made a point to have Whis train Gohan, since Vegeta, above even Goku, saw first hand how shitty Gohan had gotten after seven years of peace.
But ignoring this you have to understand that Gohan himself has his own life. Even if his dad and Vegeta hog all the special training and new special forms to themselves, it doesn't matter to Gohan at all, since he doesn't care about his natural potential being squandered.
>Do people even read before discussing here?
>who perpetuate the Goku is a deadbeat dad meme too
Except that one is canon.
>As much as Goku didn’t do many fatherly things, Piccolo was Gohan’s surrogate father.
>Goku isn’t interested in child-rearing, probably. He’s completely unqualified to be a father. (laughs) He doesn’t even have a job. Goku wants nothing other than to get stronger, and it feels like he doesn’t have any other instincts. So he shows absolutely no interest in things he’s not interested in. I’d bet he wouldn’t have had any interest in marriage, either.
He says one thing in one interview and then contradicts himself in the next one. Fucker is senile or at least does a good job and pretending to be just to fuck up with people who take Dragon Ball more seriously than what it should be.
>I’d bet he wouldn’t have had any interest in marriage, either.
Toriyama states this, but we get confirmation in this very fucking chapter that Goku loves Chichi, despite all the bullshit Toriyama spat about Goku, being a lower-class Saiyan, being unable to feel genuine love for his family compared to Vegeta.
Modern Dragon Ball is half-SoL and it is amazing. Once the power levels reached a certain point, the only place for the franchise to go was feeding delicious foods to a god of destruction to save the Earth and not ruin Bulma's birthday party.
>/a/nons pissed at Gohan not living up to his potential
>Probably don't even lift, exercise or eat well
>literally mad at a fictional character not training when they themselves don't even reach their potential
>Vegeta doesn't even believe in his own kid
Wait, what? In the Buu saga he was so tundere about Trunks being stronger than Goten.
In Super Vegeta is still a tsundere who's only goal in life in surpass Kakarott. The kid is now a second thing in his priorities, same for Goku and Goten.
Vegeta acknowledges Gohan's power, Goku's comment said the contrary for him.
Gohan has beaten the shit out Vegeta before, Gokau ahs never experieinced that. He always holds Gohan in high regard...that's the reason why he is so dissappointed in Gohan even more than his own fatheris. But that is fine, in Super it's Vegeta and Goku fighting. Which is pretty much how the Toriyama ended Dragonball anyway.
Not him but there is no problem with either interpretation. Saiyans are selfish by nature so women like that are perfect as partners. He likely would have e been alone had Chichi never been interested in him but she fits him as wife.
Both should know better to take what the master says with a grain a salt vs what he actually does.
You're only setting yourself up for disappointment (see every single Vegetafag, who's been gushing at all the nice shit Toriyama has been saying about Vegeta in interviews, leading up to RoF, only to consistently make him look like shit when it really matters).
It's to the point where I wonder if Toriyama is purposely asking for interviews to feed his fanbase misinformation, just to piss people off.
It's going to be the same for those two or three people who are happy Buu is getting to fight and those handful of real Piccolo fans.
The only thing worse than trusting Toriyama is that he's working with Toei; that's the perfect typhoon for disappointment.
Toriyama also once said years ago if DBZ ever continued, Goku would have left his family only to return every once in a while.
I think Toriyama always believe that even though Goku cares about everyone, he doesn't love anyone. And that is one part of his Saiyan heritage that he always kept.
See, the thing people forget about Toriyama is that he loves subverting fan expectation and going out of his way to give the vocal-minority the opposite of what they want.
It's specially damning when things don't go exactly how he expects for something he didn't want to work on anyway (ie; Dragonball compared to his beloved Dr. Slump).
It's that love for fucking with the fans expectations is what I'll always about Toriyama. Modern authors are too fucking soft.
Vegeta has never made a comment about being salty with Gohan. He treated him well during the buu saga.
Hell, in the buu saga he trained Trunks and in the OP he's showed training him too. Until meeting Beerus he was involved in Trunks' training. I don't know why people said he doesn't believe in Trunks.
>Toriyama also once said years ago if DBZ ever continued, Goku would have left his family only to return every once in a while.
And then he drew the Neko Majin Z chapters which had not only Goku living at home with his family, but with Pan, Goten, Uub and Ox King all under the same roof.
Toriyama is funny like that. I view all this nonsense about Goku not caring about about anyone legitimately in the same light, because it stems from Toriyama still being butthurt by how Toei consistently portrayed Goku in a positive light.
oh man i wish
golden final form cooler when?
Toriyama is subverting everything about the saiyan offspring. Trunk and Goten are kidsand besides the buu saga will never have to face world ending forces like their fathers did, and Gohan just wants to study and have a kid.
>I view all this nonsense about Goku not caring about about anyone legitimately in the same light, because it stems from Toriyama still being butthurt by how Toei consistently portrayed Goku in a positive light.
Which is fucking retarded, considering Toriyama has consistently done the same fucking thing with Goku.
Even when Goku is at his most selfish, during the Cell arc, where he and Vegeta are literally training to surpass Super Saiyan, and making a game out of Earth's safety, Goku goes out of his way to train Gohan up to a Super Saiyan and accepts that Gohan power ultimately eclipses his own.
Really, there is no reason for Goten and Trunks to have to give their lives to training and fighting if Goku and Vegeta are still in their prime and getting stronger every day.
>the buu saga will never have to face world ending forces like their fathers did
>Earth is the prize of Champa and Beerus' bet.
>The rest of Super.
>In the end of DB Toriyama said they were going to face more enemies.
Toriyama just got lazy with the rest of the characters.
can counter all of that by mentioning the fact that goku brings up Piccolo as a serious choice.
Piccolo, who got one-shotted by some random underling and who had trouble fighting the rest of Frieza's army. Gohan meanwhile 1-shot the guy who beat Piccolo and easily had the power to kill ALL the henchmen, but chose to do everything non-lethally. Gohan got instant KO'ed by frieza, but literally anyone not goku or vegeta would have or just flat out died.
and he's a saiyan, so he can actually get to goku and vegeta's levels with only a little amount of time. Piccolo is basically fucked power-wise unless he gets another fusion chance.
Why happen to Vegeta? He use to be so badass. This is disgusting.
From a character-development stance, I'd like to think that Vegeta watching Kid Buu murder an unconscious Piccolo, Gohan, Goten and Trunks, on top of nuking what's left of Earth stuck with him, so he doesn't want to train Trunks to the level he and Goku are at.
Since he's the guy who stated that Earth needs to take care of its own problems and he would rather deal with future challenges himself, instead of deferring to the next generation.
This is what I like to think is going on in Vegeta's head, but the reality is that he's too busy chasing after Goku, who's chasing after Beerus and Whis to care about nurturing the kid's Super Saiyan potential.
He's not an angry young man anymore.
>He use to be so badass.
Yeah, like remember the time Vegeta broke down and wept like a little bitch, when he realized that not only he *wasn't* a Super Saiyan, despite getting gutted by Kuririn and bumming a heal from Dende, but Freeza was about to fuck his boy-pussy raw?
Or maybe they just to get stronger and fuck the rest.
Character development, good character development.
To be honest I hope Toriyama go beyond the end of DB and Z and use the half-saiyans again. They are supposed to be Earth's future protectors according to RoF, better start using them.
The thing that bothers me with Goku saying that is that gives the impress Gohan is suffering flanderization, just like Chi Chi and Videl.
No, he said he had a huge power boost but still wasn't enough to beat Cell. It was even with emphasis with the "big boost" part, just to prove that someone that can fight android 17 and get a big power up is still no match for perfect Cell.
Shit like this is why I'm a firm believer in Death of the Author. Even when the creator says one thing the material might say something else entirely, or at least be open to a very different but equally plausible explanation.
What did Cell ever do besides become a stronger asshole?
>Goku and Vegeta are the only saiyans going
>After that it's Buu and Piccolo
>"Finally Tien's time to shine!"
>NOPE GET READY FOR NEW CHARACTER
Didn't make the cut by one spot...
>mfw I realized that Cell did the exact same thing that let him beat Vegeta with Gohan
It's like poetry.
>He thinks Super is better than BoG and RoF
SSJ4 Raditz > SSJG Goku
Everyone was an incredible moron in the Android and Cell Sagas or the plot wouldn't have moved at all.
This asshole needs to be put on leash
Hell even the original Son Goku has that magic crown (tiara? diadem?) that could be used to punish him whenever he went apeshit
I wonder if I was the only one who caught that incredibly stupid shit
Post time chamber Piccolo never fought against semi-perfect Cell.
Cell was already Perfect when Piccolo even got inside.
In fact, we know he got much stronger because Trunks and himself comment on it, but he never, ever again fights anyone after that. Not canonically at least.
But seeing Trunks reaction to Piccolo when he got out the chamber, and knowing that since Vegeta handled semi-perfect Cell like a baby, meaning Trunks could at the very least beat him then, I'd say Piccolo is probably stronger than Semi-perfect Cell.
Also, remember that Vegita and Trunks second visit to the time chamber was a huge waste of time, because all they did was develop that new SSJ form that traded their speed for power, which was useless.
But still, the fact that Piccolo never fought anyone again after training inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber makes it very difficult to gauge his relative strength.
We never see Piccolo exit the chamber in the manga. This is all that's said.
When the cell juniors attacked the Z fighters all the humans and weakend Goku got wrecked instantly but Vegeta, Trunks and Piccolo were somewhat surviving the attack equally so that's evidence that Piccolo was at least similar in power to Vegeta and Trunks at the time of the Cell games
>The guy who wrote the broly movies would probably lose his mind if broly returned
>dude is a major brolyfag
Dude not only wrote the Broly movies, but directly almost every 'DBZ' era film, but the newest ones.
Unfortunately, the dude is too far up his own ass in love with Broly to understand that Toriyama would make a character like Broly a throw-away minion for someone like Beerus, due to his love for making the strongest villains as unassuming as fuck.
>and also the better father.
Bullshit. He doesn't even bring up the fact that Goten and Trunks could fill spots and deserve a chance to get trained.
Goku pointing out Gohan is more concerned with studying rather than fighting is a more realistic view than Vegeta bringing up Gohan's bullshit potential, while ignoring the fact that Gohan completely slacked off to become a scholar.
>Gohan's bullshit potential
Reminder that he slacked 7 fucking years and only took a weird ritual with Old Kaio'Shin to become the strongest living being. Gohan's potential is no joke.
>Reminder that he slacked 7 fucking years and only took a weird ritual with Old Kaio'Shin to become the strongest living being. Gohan's potential is no joke.
Yes. That's why it's bullshit potential. Gohan literally sat on his ass doing nothing for a few hours and became the strongest non-fused character (at the time) in the series.
That anyone thought there was a way Toriyama could have made a satisfying ending after gifting Gohan a power up like that is sad enough, but that there are people who are genuinely salty about a character who practically does nothing (compared to Goku and Vegeta training their asses off) and gets a free power up isn't getting a chance to get rewarded for doing nothing is fucking ridiculous.
The worst part is that the people who supposedly like/love Gohan seemingly can't stand him as a character when he isn't getting freebie power ups, as oppose to Gohan being himself striving to become a scholar and raising a proper family.
I'm totally fine with Gohan being a scholar, but the idea that he can't find time to train on the side bothers me. I'm not asking for him to kick Goku/Vegeta's asses, I'm just asking for him to not show up in a goddamn tracksuit and chumped instantly by Frieza. Let there be a little back and forth, even if it is just Frieza toying with him (again).
>YFW Future Trunks is the saiyan from Champa's dimension
>He fights against Vegeta
Are you kidding? It'd be a terrible, nonsensical twist. Gohan is Chi Chi and Goku's kid, but Earth doesn't exist in this alternate universe. Any child of alt-Goku's wouldn't be alt-Gohan because of this simple fact. Gohan is just as much Chi Chi's kid as he is Goku's, Gohan's battle rages certainly don't come from his father's side, that's for sure.
So we can finally end the 'DBZ universe only has 4 galaxies' debate
>Yes. That's why it's bullshit potential. Gohan literally sat on his ass doing nothing for a few hours and became the strongest non-fused character (at the time) in the series.
And? Goku drank a magic potion to beat Piccolo Daimou.
>going this far out of the way to shit on Gohan
>We certainly can't do this without Buu, the lazy fatass who slept through the entire invasion!
>We need Piccolo
>Gohan? Despite Vegeta suggesting he'd be a better choice than others, nah, fuck him! Don't even bother asking!
You know what, I'd be happier if they came up with a two species limit, or said Gohan was busy with a current enemy, and that enemy turns out to be taxes or some horseshit like that.
But no, it's just "nah, fuck off with Son Gohan." And I guess if I'm not happy wit another character joining the useless cheerleader squad, then I'm just a buttmad Gohanfag.
Wasn't this supposed to be better than GT?
Gohan got his potential unlocked by doing nothing in the Frieza saga, then became SS2 and got cocky, letting Cell explode and kill his father, and then he got his potential unlocked just by doing nothing again.
I like it better without Gohan, to be honest.
>Buaaa why is Gohan being happy doing what he loves and living with his family instead of being the edgy mary sue I want him to be!!!111
Sometimes I think Gohanfags give a shit about what their "favourite" character really wants
>retarded father and his manlet fuckbuddy let villain power up again
>villain kills them and then proceeds to rape the entire family
Gee, that could never ever happen. If only there was a way to train a little just to maintain your physique while still keeping in touch with your family and not wither away like a 4chan user.
Nope, no one's ever done that before.
>derp, you kids should be happy this character is being pushed off to irrelvancy!
>but hey, he's doing (insert shit that doesn't matter in the series) and is happy, so it's okay!
I suppose if Yamcha won the lottery and got a girlfriend, that would make up for him being uninvited, fuck that DIS-invited to go fight Freeza Goons because it's too much for him even though he's at least 10 times as strong as Master Roshi is.
All of this shit is axularity tidbits and knowledge. If they aren't taking part of the adventure, they're being written out of the story and into uselessness. People like you chomp at the bit as for why everyone should be happy with these excuses.
Let's have Vegeta retired and open an orphanage, and never fight again, and have Yamcha take his spot as the second strongest. But Vegeta's happy now, so it doesn't matter if he's being written out of the story to make room for Yamcha.
Wasn't Goku himself supposed to take a rest? But, everyone was like "no, fuck that, Goku can't do that, he's Goku! and made him main character again?
Why don't you just say "why aren't you guys happy X character is irrelevant like everyone else now! They're happy too!"
DBZ is airing at the local channel right now and they're right at freeza's arc.
How's Gohan and Vegeta's relationship in the current story? It just seems hard to imagine they'd be anything other than mortal enemies considering how much they were killing each other during the saiyan and freeza arcs
Dragon Ball has a lot of side characters and not all of them can be important. Oolong used to be a main character, you know. Gohan had his time, now the story is going to move on to other characters.
Also, Yamcha did get a girlfriend.
> It just seems hard to imagine they'd be anything other than mortal enemies considering how much they were killing each other during the saiyan and freeza arcs
Shit was like 20 years ago and they've both died since then. They've gotten over it.
There you go, point proven. I don't give a shit if X character doesn't want to fight and wants to do something else
Krilin is my favourite and it feels really good that he's married to best girl and having a family. I don't really care if he isn't "strong" anymore because "hurr durr muh fight and serious shit"
I'd be damned if Beerus would actually call that potato head guy as the final entrant
Why does it's matter if he's happy when he's out of the story? Might as well never mention him.
It's entirely possible to be happy and be relevant but nope, you would rather bitch about people bitching than bitch about retarded writing like inviting mother fucking useless Piccolo.
>inviting mother fucking useless Piccolo
Gohanfags having shit taste as always
>more useful in a fight
For fucks sake, even kid Gohan was more useful in fights ever since Radiz died. He's there to make a big bang appearance and then get beaten the crap out of him.
>He has the greatest dormant potential of all of us
>Key word: dormant
How does it matter that he's a total bookworm? Due to timewarp shenanigans he went from high school freshman to university graduate in a year. Why the fuck can't he start training again?
You mean he got one surprise hit in and then got wrecked?
Gohan is the main villain of this story and has been since at least the end of the Cell saga. He took on this sissy bookworm persona because it would attract the least suspicion. Smashing his glasses is a symbolic way of smashing his old persona, as well as revealing his deception in a subtle way (he never needed the glasses, in the same way he never was truly a sissy bookworm).
Screencap this post.
>this faggy, delusional Gohan-fellating bullshit
Jesus anon, save some for the rest of the Gohanfags
>Jesus anon, save some for the rest of the Gohanfags
It is understandable. All of DBZ was building up Gohan where he did nothing but train, get wrecked, and have a one-hit RAGE power up, culminating in a half-hearted fight against Cell. The anti-climax means that people who are particularly devoted to that storyline are under the delusion that it is still going on.
Damn stupid desu
I mean, why even make a small ring for the tournament?
What is this shit?
I have never understood the powerscaling in DBZ.
They could easily destroy the entire planet with a punch/kick at this point.
Their ring should be the entire solar system at this stage.
This has already been explained. Saiyans retain their youth until they die. In other words, they don't visibly age or lose any of their physical ability no matter how old they become (though they do still die of old age, they just don't show it until it happens because they are a warrior race so they need to be able to fight for their entire life span).
Sometimes I think that Gohanfags are (even more) retarded Brolyfags. Their interest in the character begins and ends at "muh hidden potential," but they don't realize that there are better options for such power wank. They don't actually like Gohan's personality.
What about his girlfriend?
Humanity in Universe 6 was wiped out by a foolish war. I don't see it being related to any established universe.
Eh, a hero having to fight and be strong even though he wants peace or whatever isn't really something weird or odd.
DBZ spent 2/3 or its run building up to Gohan's potential, so having it amount to nothing is pretty bad narratively.
In addition to that, now with the movies and Super, threats keep appearing and yet Gohan doesn't seem to worry about them at all until they're right at his doorstep. It all just makes his character come off as stupid or morbidly lazy.
But the story makes him the butt of the joke for choosing that path. I can understand Gohanfags being upset about that.
Wow, Yamcha really is a player. Thanks Toriyama for being possibly the only guy to make people sympathize with an abusive ex.
>I don't want to hear that "Toriyama knows best/better!" shit anymore, considering we're literally having Freeza return as a CANON arc.
Even if Golden Fridge is shit, he was still a hell of a lot more entertaining than a fuck-huge retard like Broly.
wait tagoma got rekt by frieza in just a few shots while he was in his first form, but can defeat gohan? how is that real? did frieza get a power up while he was dead and immobile for multiple years? fucking toriyama
4 months of training together with a natural genius is huge
Goku training for 6 days alone brought him from equal Vegeta to on par with Freeza
Gohan training with Goku for 1 year brought him from below Freeza to above Regenerated Perfect Cell
Plus Gohan is not at buu level anymore
I think is says so here in upcoming episode descriptions but I can't read it
>When I was growing up I projected hard onto Gohan since I was also a kid
>I had followed his journey starting as basically a toddler, through the harsh survival training Piccolo gave him to turn him into a warrior
>Through the entire namek saga where he even managed to briefly give Freiza a hard time, hinting at his future as a badass/strong warrior
>Through cell, where at the end he became the strongest in the manga and had a fantastic final battle scene
>Goku was dead and Gohan ready to become main character as the flame passes on
>Actually Gohan never trained and became a nerd
>Ok fair enough, he's not a full saiyan and doesn't enjoy fighting anywhere near as much as Goku or Vegeta. Plus this Saiyaman shit is awesome and Videl is top waifu although being 12 I didn't have that terminology to describe her. I actually tried to do the flying/ki lessons Gohan gave Videl
>Still expecting Gohan to be a major part of the fight against any bad guy at this point because of Cell
>Buu Saga he gets defeated, accomplishing nothing of note, with a total let down on the ages it took for his "true potential" be unlocked for the 4th time
>Wow that fucking sucks
>This shit happens
>Think back to my 12 year old self's hype for Gohan during the Cell saga
Fucking kill me
The only way he could be substantially stronger is by fusing with Piccolo Sr. to fully unlock his potential and become even stronger than Goku at Super Saiyan 3 (and that's before he even gets serious)
> Saiyans retain their youth until they die.
Nope, they have a longer youth, but when they hit senior citizen age they age like milk in the sun. We never see Saiyans past 60 anyway, probably because they die before then.
>Saiyans retain their youth until they die.
>when they hit senior citizen age they age like milk in the sun
Neither of those things have been proven true so what are you people talking about
>Do Saiyans stay forever young?
>Saiyans are a warrior race, so their aging slows once they reach an age suitable for fighting, and they maintain great strength for a long time. However, their lifespan is not much different from Earthlings’, and when they reach a certain age, they rapidly grow frail.
>Incidentally, It’s not that their hairstyle never changes; Nappa went bald, after all. The states of Saiyan hair are also the same as Earthlings’; its properties are just a little bit different.
You think I just make this up? That's Toriyama's job.
>I want my character who has been an active part of the cast to continue being an arctive part of the cast
>FUCK OFF GOHANFAGS, CAN'T YOU FUCKS BE HAPPY WITH ANYTHING, HE'S MARRIED NOW
I hate this fanbase so goddamn much.
Pretty much. When Toriyama listed the physical stuff for Saiyans, their only skin color was "yellow". Compare that to the humans, where he wrote down "yellow, brown, white, black, red" or something like that.
Toyotaro fucking loves Gohan, he even made him go SSJ4 in AF, when Gotenks was a complete jobber.
He adds some ideas to the story, but it's mostly written by Toriyama and other artists.
I also don't get why they'd limit their options like this. The cool thing about DB Multiverse was that it had some fucked up creatures in the tournament.
I'm aware of that
What I'm angry about is that if I express my dislike of a character being written out of the story, I'm just an anal-pained Gohanfag, and nobody can come up with a half-decent excuse for why this is a good thing.
Goku was proud of gohan, as someone who loves fighting he wanted to show how strong his son was.
Thats we he stop his training to beat cell and just let gohan do it, his only sin was not knowing how pussy gohan is
>Beerus and Champa destroying planets with living creatures on it while fighting
Do Whis and Vados "repair" those planets with the time travel bullshit? Because it is bullshit Goku hanging around guys like that or look up for them that casually.
Peeping and hearing everything of Gohan's life because that's all he has. Why the fuck do you think Piccolo can now understand the relationship between man and woman when he never did before? He saw Gohan fucking Videl from far while eating popcorns and hears their daily conversations. Hell, he is already taking care of Pan.
Oh, come on. At least say Gohan was a daddy's boy. In the Cell saga Gohan was one of the most serious characters. The thing with him and the error Goku made is not telling him he was the one who was going to kill Cell. The reason Gohan wanted to train after the Saiyan saga was to protect his love ones, but he never thought he was the hero that time.
Okay, I'm going to mark them. Buu is supposed to be wintering in RoF, but Toriyama's a hack. I don't trust the man.
Also mark my words, the last fighter is going to be the Elder Kai.
Will this alternate timeline stuff be in Super, or just this manga?
I predicted this tournament shit would happen...
Hope its as good as the Dragon Ball Tourneys, but with a DBZ twist.
Is it confirmed that its all standard 1vs1 sparring battles.
Maybe have some variety, do challenges, like a Quiz or armwrestling. Heck just do Takeshis Castle.
Wrong, at some point Gohan represented every person who was overlooked. He was the guy who could hang with the big guys despite not getting much love most of the time but could actually assrape everyone he ever looked up to. He was that kid with a bunch of potential but was never played because of his size. When coach finally gave him a shot he was still made fun of. Eventually he released his potential and defeted an even stronger Cell than was first presented showing everyone that he was #1 all along.
Now he's just a faggot who gave in to the criticism that everyone made about him before he showed them he was the best. He gave up on himself and everyone who saw a little bit of themselves in him.
>When coach finally gave him a shot he was still made fun of.
Half the time the coach gave him a shot, he fucked up big time.
Gohan realized that since he's not a fighting junkie he should leave the fighting to those who are.
I mean what would we have if he stayed the focus? Either he'd be some cocky sadistic edgelord every time he had the upper hand (which would be worse than watching Vegeta do that stupid bullshit 4 story arcs in a row), or he'd just swiftly defeat the enemy without batting an eye (which would be boring as fuck).
>Hell, he is already taking care of Pan.
Piccolo is the best grandad.
I wouldn't say gorey but piccolo jr to the end of Namek conveyed a better sense of brutality in fights like when Goku was fighting Raditz or when vegeta was getting wrecked by Recoome and Frieza.
I remember when piccolo shot a hole through goku and attacked that area, seemed much more painful then when Frieza stepped on goku's laser wound hole in Ressurection F.
