So, I just rewatched Adventure and Adventure 02.

I have to say, that for Adventure, I love the characters. I might have gotten frustrated with some, but overall I love them all. Even Yamato. I remember I found him annoying when little, so was Taichi with his reckessness or Takeru and Mimi with their whining.

Loved their development.


And then I watched Adventure 02...

Why the hell couldn't Toei move on with another universe? And leave the Adventure one alone? Damn it, I ended up disliking Takeru and Miyako. Sora was bland as fuck, Iori was almost unexistant, Hikari was wasted potential (as well as Takeru) and Daisuke had no development at all.

The first children got shat.

The new quartet of main digimon were ok enough. I liked Hawkmon the best of them. And Wormon evolution to Stingmon was cool.

But man, it was worse than I remember and now remember why I lost interest as a kid. It doesn't have the charm as the previous one.

Yamato is pretty lackluster. He doesn't really get a lot of shining moments that aren't shared with anyone else.

Lets start with Ryo. He felt forced as fuck. I would try to expand his background more, even by making the connections to the Adventure universe more blatant. Work in his (and Monodramon's) characterizarion more.

Work on the Devas a bit more as well. Having the low tiers appear earlier and having the others like Zhuqiaomon and the Phoenixmon ro be more relevant.

Expand a bit more on Kazu, Kenta nd Shuichion along with their digimon, more time with Juri and Leomon before he goes Leomon.

It is a serious flaw in the case of tamers. I mean, unlike a normal villain, the d-reaper was serious shit and his effect in the digital world should've been noticed since they stepped into the digital world. Also, the whole Zhuqiaomon gang could've simply asked Culumon and the tamers for help and giving impmon power was completely needless if his true goal all along was to gather power to stop the d-reaper, as he could've focused his efforts in stopping the d-reaper instead of sending his agents to die in the hands of the tamers and make of them his enemy.

Hell, we didn't even get a single scene about the devas talking about why retrieving culumon was so important, they simply did it and some of them acted very villainesque despite it was supposed to be a desperate, yet noble goal.
