New jobbing king
Threadly reminder not to sexualize Takeru and Hikari's friendship
She'll spend most of the movie/series without a digimon but still clutching her digivice, until the final part where her determination
lets her temporarily biomerge with Leomon's data within the digivice into BanchoLeomon.
Threadly reminder to not sexualize their mons either.
Reminder to sexualize their brothers' friendship.
fuck this noise
Well I'm not stopping.
You can blame the character designer for giving them such sexy bodies.
>Imperialdramon is called "he King of Jobbers"
>not this guy
Looking forward to his next death in Tri.
Reminder to not sexualize Palmon or any of her evolved forms.
No. That ship doesn't have any sense.
The only thing that could help Taichi get over cellphone-chan's death was the memory of holding hands with Yamato. They're 2romanchikku.
We're actually going much slower than before. Our threads should be dead by next week
>Sexualizing any mon is disgusting Anon.
WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULD TELL THAT TO TOEI
>Seriously though what is the deal with Joe's girlfriend?
It's a thing he has. People do tend to have those at 18. It's to show he's grown up
>Is she gonna be relevant to the plot in the slightest.
>Will we even see her on screen?
Maybe for a scene or two
>Jou already has a girlfriend
Tulpas don't count.
Wormmon should have BanchoStingmon now, rather than the GranKuwagumons. Armadillomon should have Stegomon, although I think Shakamon acts as an overall much better Ultimate for Shakkoumon.
So, I just rewatched Adventure and Adventure 02.
I have to say, that for Adventure, I love the characters. I might have gotten frustrated with some, but overall I love them all. Even Yamato. I remember I found him annoying when little, so was Taichi with his reckessness or Takeru and Mimi with their whining.
Loved their development.
And then I watched Adventure 02...
Why the hell couldn't Toei move on with another universe? And leave the Adventure one alone? Damn it, I ended up disliking Takeru and Miyako. Sora was bland as fuck, Iori was almost unexistant, Hikari was wasted potential (as well as Takeru) and Daisuke had no development at all.
The first children got shat.
The new quartet of main digimon were ok enough. I liked Hawkmon the best of them. And Wormon evolution to Stingmon was cool.
But man, it was worse than I remember and now remember why I lost interest as a kid. It doesn't have the charm as the previous one.
I couldn't even finish 02 about halfway through during the rew/a/tch. I just skipped to Tamers
>That's just mervamon being mervamon
But Toei is the still the one sexualizing it. Everything about girls in Xros was sexual
Most of humanity.
The only one's that would push for that be allowed are sick furries/otherkin, snowflakes too special for tumblr, the clinically retarded/insane, and the digimon themselves.
>I couldn't even finish 02 about halfway through during the rew/a/tch. I just skipped to Tamers
Didn't want to suffer with the rest of us, huh?
I just couldn't deal with it
If she wasn't in this first movie, I doubt we'll see her in the next one. I think it was just to be a shock and indicate "yes these kids are all grown up now and have lives". Of course I could be wrong
>They both wear glasses, clearly they must be together
>even though she's from a country that's basically the fucking boonies of Japan and clearly has never met a single person in a public setting to be able to have a boyfriend
Seriously nig, it doesn't make sense
I just watched the second episode and what was with everyone's reaction to a giant hand coming out of a portal and dragging the Kuwagamon inside? They didn't seem shocked in the slightest. I get that they've seen a lot of crazy shit before but they seemed way too chill about that.
Things would be a lot less complicated if Yamato was a girl.
He and Mimi are getting laid, then Joe's digimon girlfriend will show up to get revenge. They almost defeat her with their megas but then Imperialdramon shows up and kill both of them.
Oh, Ken was alright. I would consider him on the same level as the Adventure children.
I don't understand why they dropped the ball hard with the rest of the 02 kids. Or Takeru and Hikari, I mean, as characters they still have room to improve and sans that weird ass episode with the Dark Lake they never did anything with them.
Just two boring ass kids joined by the hip like siamese, acting like they have "matured" enough.
When Takeru ended up beating up Ken, I though his character was going somewhere but they dropped that too.
Then they push him to be with Iori to create thetea pot, but I wished they could do more.
And is like they suddenly forgot the kind of stuff Hikari was capable to do or at least the potential.
And don't remind me of Miyako and the cake.
I'm going to get on to Tamers one of these days once I make some actual free time.
I was aware of the general consensus, but I wasn't imagining you guys were accurate enough.
Man can fuck robots, aliens, pocket monsters, demons, digital devils, non-humanoid animals, plants, other humans, tools, food, corpses, the personification of things we cannot even begin to comprehend, but digimon are not one of them.
Not if Sora was still a grill.
There's a lot of miscommunication between the Adventure and 02 staff and too many ideas that left others behind
>When Takeru ended up beating up Ken, I though his character was going somewhere but they dropped that too.
Of all things dropped in 02, this one hurt the most
>Dark Emperor Ken
>Turns good again through the power of getting the darkness beat out of him
>Turns into the Crusader-King through the power of beating the darkness out of others
game involving theadventures of the future kids when?
All that darkness has to go somewhere.
Yeah the dark sea episode had enormous potential with that frightening Cthulhu-like creature but then nothing happened. I was really interested in seeing more of that weird and dark dimension though. 02 was an absolute drop out.
Why the fuck Hikari's son has a plotmon while the others have baby II level digimon? Tailmon was a special case because she was more experienced before the curse of the digivice locked her evolution level, but why her child is higher evolved? Besides, her son is not even the oldest of the kid as to say he and his mon accumulated more experience points
This might explain why people say Mimi emerged from 02 intact.
She was already funny.
Yeah that's probably true. She is best girl after all. I didn't really like her pink hair though. I am glad they did away with that.
Agree. I found Joe, Yamato (despite his constant bitching) and Mimi as the most developed and interesting characters from adventure. Putting them aside the way they did was an absolute disappointment. At least Koushiro and Tai showed more often. Nothing against Sora but she was meh.
>She was put aside as much as Sora and Joe also.
She appeared more than either of those two did... which is an achievement in itself given she was on the other side of the Earth. I agree with both your sentiments though.
>Really the only character to come out of 02 relatively unchanged is Koshiro
I can agree with that.
What? She's got one of the better character arcs in Adventure, she's cute, lively, fun, always steals the show when she's on screen and has a great relationship with her Digimon.
There's a pretty damn good reason she's the most popular girl in Adventure franchise
You mean Taichi. And he found his resolve to fight in the end. It's just that he's got a lot of things to think about and maybe some PTSD
It's actually consistent with his character in Adventure like when he realized he could really die
>There's a pretty damn good reason she's the most popular girl in Adventure franchise
Is she the most popular? Certainly here but overall? I was always under the impression that Sora was the most popular because of all the shipping nonsense.
Even nips think Sora is worst Adventure girl. They sure love Hikari, though.
This. He's perfect for Joe. He's basically what Joe wishes he was. Outgoing, personable, joyful, and never hesitates to help out even if it means he may get hurt. Its funny how the 2 mains are the most lack luster.
>Its funny how the 2 mains are the most lack luster.
Yamato is pretty lackluster. He doesn't really get a lot of shining moments that aren't shared with anyone else.
But Taichi is a pretty good MC for a toyetic shounen. He rises to the occasion but the show doesn't reward him for being reckless (unlike certain other Digimon series) and instead challenge him to be a better person and true leader.
>Yamato and Taichi on top
>Sora worst Adventure kid
They sure have good taste.
>I meant Agu and Gabu, but I agree with you.
Oh. Yeah that's true. I think Gabumon is a little bit interesting in the sense that he literally followed Yamato to hell and back willingly and was the most vocal toward his emotional issues
>someone with a strange way of thinking
It's nice to see someone using my template.
Takeru and Yamato is the better ship.
>it took until Tri for otouto to notice oniichan
Though he could use some pointers from Hikari
I'd Strawberry Choco Bomber Crash into her seasonal hyper Tropical Expresso, if you know what I mean.
Actually no, it's reserved for Taichi
I'd rather Duftmon Leopard Mode received an X-Antibody form instead. Let's be honest, Duftmon's pretty lame-looking no matter what you do to it. At least Leopard Mode's unique among Royal Knights.
>Omegamon Zwart (Dark Knight)
>Dukemon Crimson Mode
>UlfroceV-dramon Future Mode
>Duftmon Leopard Mode
So when are LordKnightmon, Sleipmon, Jesmon, Gankoomon and Craniummon and Examon gonna receive alt forms?
why do people say HolyAngemon is super powerful when he killed Piemon with help (remember WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon's attacks threw him into Heaven's Gate)
but they don't with Zudomon, despite him ALSO killing an Ultimate/Mega with help?
>Senpai Joe will protect me
>Sora protects me
Why does this makes me laugh?
Also, why do I have the feeling that Hikari would have internally laugh at Takeru if she met him before his development from his crybaby self?
>Ken was Ryo's friend first
>V-mon was Ryo's partner first
>even the adventure was Ryo's first
I know there's no basis, but the temptation to make everything about Daisuke's life be Ryo's hand-me-downs is too much to resist.
>Nearly all X forms are trash though
Nah nig. Nah
You forgot ChaosDukemon and The Executioner(pic related)
It's less being changed by the x antibody and more the style he's drawn as. See for example >>134017091, it makes Dynasmon look pretty boss despite the toei art makes him look bland
Because Takeru is not Oni-chan and will never be Oni-chan.
But in all seriousness, she wouldn't "laugh" at him, but would be concerned or even slightly annoyed at him and even Yamato on how they were handling their sibling relationship.
did someone call for shitty recolors?
>because it's crazy to believe she was that immature when you look at her now
I was talking about 8 year old Hikari if she wasn't sick and went to the camp with them, though >>134017556 was a bit more on point.
>lost digimon adventure 02 episode with this guy in a tophat tying the girl chosen children to train tracks
Cut in half the human world arc, reduce the forced drama, expand the devas arc so they are more than glorified digimon of the week, introduce Zhuqiaomon earlier and make the other three guys more relevant, expand Ryo's role so he doesn't feel shoehorned and foreshadow the d-reaper instead of being an apocalimon tier superboss that came out of nowhere
Oh, then I completely agree.
Mimi had good development in Adventure.
In my opinion, the glimpses we had of her in 02 were more than enough.
They would have ruined her.
Now on to see how they will handle her in Tri.
Haha, that was a stupid question, wasn't it? I was just afraid of a Frontier situation where after a character arc of the lesser characters, two main ones took the major spotlight.
But Adventure had been pretty good with its cast, I am slightly hopeful that Jou and Mimi won't be almost completely discarded when Movie 2 ends.
That sounds like a perfect Frontier episode.
He said improve. Not completely destroy.
Hmmm, lets see...
Lets start with Ryo. He felt forced as fuck. I would try to expand his background more, even by making the connections to the Adventure universe more blatant. Work in his (and Monodramon's) characterizarion more.
Work on the Devas a bit more as well. Having the low tiers appear earlier and having the others like Zhuqiaomon and the Phoenixmon ro be more relevant.
Expand a bit more on Kazu, Kenta nd Shuichion along with their digimon, more time with Juri and Leomon before he goes Leomon.
>The glimpses we had of her in 02 were more than enough. They would have ruined her.
Even moreso than they did. You get that intro in episode 1 where they say "and Mimi moved to America" and there's a feeling of "...aww, fuck."
Christmas Mimi is still the cutest Mimi in my eyes, so there's that from Zero Two.
>Now on to see how they will handle her in Tri.
Given how she's been received in the first episode, it looks incredibly promising. I don't think I've seen anybody say she was bad. Practically everyone's loved her.
No man, the fusion was the best part and completed the Eva theming. As the digimon advance in stages, their synchronization rate increases, until the tamers were physically feeling damage taken when their partners were in their Perfect forms and could influence in turn. So the two becoming one humanoid entity at 100% synchronization makes perfect sense.
>the fusion was the best part
Turning your partner in a living fursuit is not a good idea and never will be.
Didn't the lore state that the D-Reaper came in contact with an eldritch being from some other dimension deep in the digital world where it resided? Maybe Milleniummon was the one to catalyze its evolution.
>and foreshadow the d-reaper instead of being an apocalimon tier superboss that came out of nowhere
What? Nigga the D-Reaper had an arc to it, along with Juri's development.
It didn't exactly came out of nowhere like Apocalimon did.
Hope so, they're the ones who got less love of all eight, not from the fans but Toei. Even since adventure they were treated like secondary characters. I remember back in the day when adventure was so popular and every shop was plagued with digimon toys, there were action figures of all the digi destined... Except for Joe and Mimi so yeah! Let's hope they didn't vanish them after their glory moment.
>Practically everyone's loved her.
Her and Koushiro. Based on the quality of characters in Movie 1 alone Kou/Mimi would be incredbly worth it.
I hope Jou can reach that level of likability on Movie 2.
>Tri episode 2
>Mimi and Jou are separated from the group to set up their evolution
>they are confronted by an opponent
>"I HAVE REVIVED FROM HELL TO ATTAIN VENGEANCE UPON YOU. NOW, I TRULY AM
THE KING OF DIGIMON"
This is probably the worst genderswap image and design I have ever seen and in all of existence.
Well reason for that is that season 2 was supposed to go in that direection, but a higher up said fuck it we needd to save money let us do this other shit instead.
>zeed is the reson tamers exists
>all of that suffering and bonding was just a side thing to his main goal of being one with Ryo
See it coming. They're both the characters Toei cares less, hope the 02 lads defeat won't be a precedent of what's to come for the digidestined beginning with Mimi and Joe before the two main faggots save them all before last battle.
>2nd movie starts with the American digidestined (yes, all of them. I'm talking as obscure as Black Ash, Tatum, and even Wallace is there) getting killed off in the same way the 02 chosen were
I bet he was responsible for every season as well so they could get power, succeed, and take part in Hunter's crossover where he gets to be with Ryo again.
Not only that but Ken is there and he can torment him further since at this point the Ryo Ken knew is dead as he no longer remembers anything to do with the adventure universe.
>group finally confronts Jou about what's bothering him
>He smiles, evily, and is suddenly voiced by Kikuchi again
>Jou has been possessed by a villain from another dimension, and lets out his battle cry
"ladies and gentlemen... IT'S SHOWTIME"
As long as the Mexican qt is fine, I'm okay with it.
I'll make your last living moments... ABSOLUTELY beautiful!
YES, HE IS MALE. THERE'S MORE THAN ONE LORDKNIGHTMON, AND THE ONE IN CYBER SLEUTH WAS ONLY POSSESSING A HUMAN.
He will once she's through with him.
It came out of nowhere. Before Zhuqiaomon mentioned that d-reaper existed, there was pretty much zero foreshadowing about its existence. And then, suddenly its all about the d-reaper
It's just love between siblings.
>you will never wash your hands with the blood of the foreign chosen children
It is a serious flaw in the case of tamers. I mean, unlike a normal villain, the d-reaper was serious shit and his effect in the digital world should've been noticed since they stepped into the digital world. Also, the whole Zhuqiaomon gang could've simply asked Culumon and the tamers for help and giving impmon power was completely needless if his true goal all along was to gather power to stop the d-reaper, as he could've focused his efforts in stopping the d-reaper instead of sending his agents to die in the hands of the tamers and make of them his enemy.
Hell, we didn't even get a single scene about the devas talking about why retrieving culumon was so important, they simply did it and some of them acted very villainesque despite it was supposed to be a desperate, yet noble goal.
the creature was fucking dormant and was in the process of waking up. why the hell would they be effects on the digital world?
also, Zhuqiaomon was pretty fucking racist and stays that way. He just has no other options at that point
Niggers like fried chicken, and that's a literal bird on fire. Quite crispy
I hate fried chicken. It's too greasy and crunchy.
Why are Toei and Bandai so shit in handling this franchise?
>All the lost potential
I don't even think the Devas themselves knew why they were retrieving Culumon. I think they just adopted their master Zhuqiaomon's racist attitude and were told to get the digimon from the evil despicable humans.
Why does Yamato do this when Takeru talks to Taichi?
I really hope the Movie 2 PV starts with her and the hat in some form. It's a staple of the whole Adventure journey.
>And in 02, it didn't look like Palmon was nice enough to keep it for her.
Didn't it fly away from Palmon after they left?
Besides, Mimi had a cream variant in Our War Game and she got another pink one for the Odaiba Memorial in 02.
I hole-hardedly agree, but allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn't take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It's clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. You might have to come to this conclusion through denial and error but I swear on my mother's mating name that when you put the petal to the medal you will pass with flying carpets like it’s a peach of cake.
Lore. In Tamers they all served Zhuqiaomon, since only he opposed the tamers and the human/digimon bond for evolution. Antylamon was the exception because she didn't adopt Zhuqiaomon's mentality and only acted as a guard.
I think they handle it decently enough. I mean, it's still alive right? It could be dead.
Digimon is whatever the creator of the material wants it to be. Sometimes it hits and sometimes it doesn't. But that's why we like it.
All the Devas will listen to the commands of any of the Four Holy Beasts. However, the Beast that they serve directly will take priority. Since none of the other Beasts apparently objected to Zhuqiaomon's plans, it was free to command the Devas as it willed.
The exception was Andiramon, who had its own duty to fulfill. It was assigned to protect the gate. That order superseded any of Zhuqiaomon's commands.
Conceptually, it's not bad
In practice though, it's irksome as fuck. We spend 54 episodes learning that these 8 kids are the special of special, so special that there were some guys who painstakenly made 8 perfect Digimon for them to bond with and fulfill all these prophecies. They made it a very important point that these kids are the only ones who can do this shit.
But then this other series comes around and then not only is there three new kids but Chosens all over the world is a thing. It's not really a bad idea but it just kind of shits in the face of Adventure's lore. Not to mention the World Tour arc as a whole is complete garbage
I just want Digimon to be more recognized
My problem is, that it's actually quite a good model for the franchise, but Toei and Bandai don't seem to know how to handle it too its full potential. They just totally destroyed they momentum with Digimon 02 and everything after Tamers.
At least we're getting Cyber Sleuth
you do realize
the international children all got their digivices AFTER Adventure and were in response to new threats appearing globally instead of the focused ones that the original 8 dealt with
this is all explained
Anon, I want to tell you a story. It's about a company known as Level 5. Once upon a time in 2008, they made a video game series known as Inazuma Eleven and it was good. So good was Inazuma Eleven that an anime was announced while the game was coming out. And the anime was good.
Inazuma Eleven began to grow and grow as did the anime as it expanded past its limits as a story about super-soccer and started getting absolutely crazy with its plots. Sequels were made, the anime became a long-runner and everything seemed happy. It even became popular enough to have a 02 type sequel series with the main cast older and a new young cast, and, unlike 02, it too was good.
However at a certain point the story became way too fucking convoluted for its own good and started drifting into full retard territory. The games had become repetitive as well. Then in 2013, Level 5 made the genius decision of rebooting the entire sequel series and then adding a whole new cast. The damage had been done and since then there have been no new games, no new anime and the franchise that once took the handheld world by storm and seemed to be a new iconic franchise died with a wimper.
The moral of the story is Digimon could be in a much worse place right now and the fact that Bandai to this day won't give up on it says something about its legacy. (And if you really want a franchise that didn't know where it was going, look up what happened with Danball Senki)
>they have several issues and conflicts if they try to be part of the anime canon.
There were issues and conflicts already with 02, that doesn't mean it's not canon. It's not like Tri is even going to use any of those since the Wonderswan is fucking dead
Ofanimon was the one in the PSP game. It'll be her.
Ofanimon is shit.
If Mastemon were an option, that'd be great, but we all know that's not gonna happen. It's amazing how much better Mastemon is than Ofanimon in every single way possible.
>calling anyone else's taste shit
Nope, sorry, Ofanimon is complete shit. I hated it from the moment I laid eyes on it. Seriously, it took way too long for a properly good female Ultimate-level angel to surface.
Holydramon's great though.
>Angewomon should evolve into Lilithmon
She's fated to if she becomes ophanimon.
Ophanimon has actually held her own against cherubimon vice, something holydramon hasn't been shown to be able to do.
Holydramon just isn't as good an ultimate, your opinions not-withstanding.
Imagine being in the theater for Hurricane Touchdown and you get to that scene when Angemon and Angewomon digivolve to Seraphimon and Holydramon and get taken out in like 10 seconds.
I'd be so fucking confused
I don't care what its battle record is. Ofanimon has a shit design. I'd honestly given up on angel Digimon until Mastemon showed up. Shows that the species isn't COMPLETELY dead in the water.
Highly unlikely. There's no X program to develop an X-antibody against, and the X antibody stuff has been long abandoned since years ago. Nowadays the only thing that survived from its past is Alphamon and maybe we will see one or two of those digimon who by nature possesses it and aren't the x antibody variation of something
What if the epilouge of 02 was also actually a bad end?
Can you imagine it?
>sit through the first half
>sit through the Ojamajo Doremi movie intermission
>it finally happens 20 minutes into the second half
>boring low-key country music plays in the background
>10 minutes later the movie is over
>go home and watch 02 on television
>Daisuke gets Magnamon again, acts like this is the first time it happened
>Seraphimon and Holydramon never appear again
>movie events are never mentioned
>be utterly confused
I think that it should've been a Wargreymon VS Alphamon and Metalgarurumon VS Ouryumon battle and both teams jogress for the next battle. But nooo, let's continue pretending that Ouryumon doesn't exist and that Alphamon is as strong as Omegamon even without the Ouryuken
It looks stupid.
As for the tail, it's bipedal and its primary method of movement is, presumably, flight. It wouldn't benefit from a large lizard tail. And Wargreymon doesn't have one.
Well with Taichi having second doubts he could always go back through the Skullgreymon line, and find some sort of balance to what having true courage means, yada yada new forms.
>let's continue pretending that Ouryumon doesn't exist
They always do nowadays.
>and that Alphamon is as strong as Omegamon even without the Ouryuken
He is. That has always been the case.
