TV: Turn A
>Unicorn by fucking far
>08th MS Team second
Victory, G, and Turn A are the only real contenders.
Unicorn was highly praised universally until later on during its run, where a bunch of contrarians realized Unicorn had become popular and then decided they didn't like it anymore. Those contrarians stayed on /m/ though, but I guess some have spilled over to /a/.
Best to just ignore those types. Unicorn is still universally known as the best Gundam outside of those types of people, aka the people who's opinion you shouldn't take seriously.
>it's popular, therefore it's good
Kamille is the best Gundam protagonist of all time. Others need not apply.
SAO is the best Gundam. It's so damn good it doesn't even need actual Gundam to be the best Gundam.
Someone with a girl name can't be the best Gundam protagonist of all time.
Judau is obviously the best Gundam MC of all time. He even told Wong.
>Ple's best choice
>Haman's best choice
Judau is best.
my nigga, Victory gundam was excellent even with the high amount of wrong it does, seriously i understand how autistic it gets but man the things it does right it does so god damn right.,
also uso best gundam pilot
My top 3 are probably 0079, Turn A and with Victory and Zeta tied for third place. The other ones I really liked were Gundam X,
G-Reco, and Fighter G.
The best movie is CCA
The best OVA is probably 0080
That's not to say the others are bad, I don't think any Gundam series is completely bad (though I only haven't and probably will never watch SEED because of how badly it is received), they all have their own things they do better than others, and I liked all of them.
MS IGLOO if you want mecha porn
0080 if you want the main message Gundam is trying to get across
Igloo is too uncanny valley. Humans are bad enough, but then the MSes (and even ships) are too becuase of the weird animations.
The ghost of the battlefield shit in the last ones were dumb too.
It was fun but it doesn't really qualify as best.
You can't fully enjoy Turn A without watching X, G, and Wing first.
>even when it feels like UC fanfiction.
But that's honestly what made X such a great show, seeing how differently the war could have turned out and how older Char and Amuro could have been.
It's my second favorite AU after G.
Dropped about 20ep in, just lost interest.
>08th MS Team
Was good until the ending.
>War in the Pocket
Overrated, kid was annoying.
Forgettable, didn't finish.
I'm watching Turn A now though and it's easily the most enjoyable so far.
>This whole thread
And here I thought the "/a/ is full of people who got into anime with Kill la Kill" was just a meme.
EXACTLY! G-Reco is only for people who are
3. Attentive, and
Greco rewards people who are intelligent enough ito understand it. It doesn't make it easy to follow because it's not for the average anime fan who need everything fucking explained to them like they're goddamn children.
And that's why it's the probably the best anime in the past 20-30 years, hands down. It's the first real mecha for intellectuals since LoGH...though honestly, I think it might surpass even that.
If you didn't like it, that means you're just not mature enough to really "Get it". In short, grow up, kid. And I'm not joking.
>first real mecha for intellectuals since LoGH
made my day
At least I can tell you that G-Reco is definitely not for the average anime viewer. I don't think anyone between 10-25 could enjoy it.
Judau is really, really handsome. There's no surprised why all the girls that met him wanted his "high mega cannon."
"I'm Judau Ashta" sums it all up perfectly.
G-Reco takes place 500 years AFTER Turn A
>ZZ is shit
>79 and zeta where so much better
I bet you just believe everything /m/ tells you.
Among all the people who watched Reco with the false information that it took place 500 years before Turn A, did you have some doubt that it actually happened after Turn A while while watching the show?
>did you have some doubt that it actually happened after Turn A
Do you mean before?
I could see it as being on either side honestly, maybe tending before, despite what Tomino says--I have a sneaking suspicion he did that just to troll Sunrise.
I mean G-Lucifer has a working Moonlight Butterfly, correct? Perhaps it's a prototype for Turn-A/X. Or perhaps it's a holdover from the Turn-A? I mean we still have ICBMs despite not having used a nuke in a war in 70 years.
Personally, I think it actually makes a bit more sense before Turn-A because of the myriad UC references in G-Reco, and I feel as if they'd be less likely to show up in a post Dark History era, but ultimately Horse's Mouth > anyone's headcanon.
I'm mostly just pleased that his statement pisses off Turn-Afags who are incredibly obnoxious with the Dark History/AU faggotry.
FUCK YEAH SCHOOL OF THE UNDEFEATED OF THE EAST MOTHER FUCKER
