the beginning of the end

The last good thing to come out of Anime.
>>
It's good but I have to pretend to hate it because only losers like Studio Ghibli productions
>>
They showed that shit in my class in like 3rd grade.

First anime film I ever watched (not counting Little Nemo). Still my favorite Miyazaki film.
>>
this is /a/ so even if they know it's good they'll say it's shit
>>
>>133826026
overrated like most of his work.
>>
>>133826142
Spirited Away is better.
>>
>>133826167
Princess Mononoke is better.
>>
>>133826026
Not as good as Porco Rosso.

Saw the dub version of Kiki first when I was younger, didn't realise how badly they fucked up the ending with Gigi until I watched a subbed version when I was older.
>>
>>133826192
Nausicaa is better
>>
>>133826142
Also I've seen this shit several times since and I'm not nostalgiafagging

>>133826167
Has better production values and more plot but Kiki's had a far better and more immersive atmosphere.

>>133826192
Princess Mononoke is really fucking good, but not better than either of those films. Probably the most well rounded of the three counting art, story, and atmosphere though.
>>
>>133826210
The Castle of Cagliostro is better.
>>
>>133826210
Still waiting on good Nausicaa doujins...

Feel free, Japan. Anytime.

What is people asking about Ghibli films so much recently.
>>
>>133826272
they're just beginning to realize that anime will be just weeb shit all the way now that ghibli is no more
>>
>>133826235
Cagliostro is his best film.
>>
>>133826026
Loved it as a kid, thought it should have had a sequel. The story didn't feel done to me.
>>
>>133826272
A state-owned kid's networks is broadcasting quite a bunch of Miyazaki films.
>>
>>133826235
Porco Rosso is the best.
>>
>>133827142
Arrietty is better.
>>
>>133826026
It was a mistake.
>>
>>133827173
Miyazaki didn't even direct Arrietty.

Also Kiki was my first anime crush when i was a kid
>>
>>133827234
Shit, well, then Ponyo is better.

It's a pity than Disney didn't include their Latin American Spanish dub of Kiki in their Blu-ray. It was so GOAT.
>>
>>133827438
Not the anon you're replying but
I know right, really loved the songs and Kiki's dub voice
>>
>>133827717
Yeah, it doesn't helps than the Zima redub sucks. The cast isn't that good and has lots of technical errors.

There are also other Ghibli dubs by Disney that aren't available anywhere of Princess Mononoke and Arriety.
>>
I can't watch anything but the original English cut, the one with Sydney Forest, because that's what I watched a million times as a kid. My favorite Ghibli movie based on nostalgia, but Princess Mononoke is my favorite disregarding that.

>>133826208
What'd they do wrong with Gigi? The ambiguous "meow" thing after the blimp?
>>
>>133827852
>What'd they do wrong with Gigi? The ambiguous "meow" thing after the blimp?
>In the original Japanese script, Kiki loses her ability to communicate with Jiji permanently, but the American version adds a line that implies that she is once again able to understand him at the end of the film. Miyazaki has said that Jiji is the immature side of Kiki, and this implies that Kiki, by the end of the original Japanese version, has matured beyond talking to her cat.

>paka paka
>>
>>133827991
There is nothing wrong with them. They rescued the Disney dub.

>Defending a propaganda channel that indoctrinates kids.
>>
>>133828133
Nice meme.
>>
>>133827952
Oh yeah, I remember reading that. I guess they were going for a more Hollywood feelgood ending. Doesn't bother me, but again, nostalgia.
>>
>>133828145
What the fuck are you talking about?
>>
contender for Top 3 Ghibli films
>>
>>133826026
I loved it when I was a kid, haven't seen it since. I'm a little scared that I'd ruin my memories.
