I use Reclock to make the audio not sound like chipmunks and it sync the video with the subs.

If you have KCP, just enable Reclock, open settings and check "time stretching" and "when speeding up."

Then open an episode of anime, then open Reclock settings from toolbar and set the speed to whatever you want.

Its great for anime that have a lot of downtime and slow exposition dialogue. Makes it much more exciting to be honest, flam.

I watched Non non Biyori recently and I can say that speeding up that show would be missing the point as the slow pace is where it draws a lot of it's comic timing from and general relaxed atmosphere.

I slowly adjusted to 2.5 and 3x over the summer, clearing a long backlog. It has a pretty odd psychological affect if you watch a lot of stuff at high speed for a long time like that. Anything even close to normal speed feels like a kind of overexaggerated, creepy, robotic act. Like, a visual bit that you can grasp at 3x speed instantly, when it drags on at normal speed doesn't even have the same impact anymore. It seems even sort of insulting that the shot has to linger and linger and wait for the very slowest possible audience.

The OP however, is not. It has nothing to do with the plot and nothing to do with what's currently happening in the episode.

And as I said, I only skip OPs I find bland or mediocre or just plain don't like. If an OP stands out as good to me I'll watch it every time. I never once skipped Casshern Sins' OP while watching that, nor do I ever skip Zeta Gundam's OPs when I rewatch that, even if I'm watching several episodes at once.

if I'm marathoning a show however, just being "kinda good" isn't enough for me to want to watch it again every 20 fucking minutes. If it's a currently airing show on the other hand, that's good enough for me to watch it once every week.
