Well it's not as if we didn't expect it, but it still hurts. Nothing separates a cast in power creep scenarios quite as badly as massive speed differences.

To be fair to Horikoshi, it seems that the speed level of even All Might isn't portrayed as too out of this world. He's stupidly fast, but not necessarily to the degree where it would render other top class heroes useless. Also, even characters with no speed buff or strength quirks can clearly become very superhuman in speed and strength, suggesting a higher top level for the characters without such quirks.

All Might/Deku will obviously be the #1, but it doesn't really need to be a stupid jump in level to where he ends up so OP that working with others only slows him down(that would suck since Deku is a great team player).

As far as I know most have had their downsides mentioned:

Kirishima - hardening his skin takes effort/energy, so if he keeps it hardened or keeps repairing it he eventually tires out and it fails (this is how Bakugou beat him).

Momo - Momo has to have a very solid, detailed knowledge of any material she creates top-to-bottom. Atomic structure and everything. Otherwise she can't make the material. She also cannot create life- she can make some organic material, but not life.

As for Jirou, Shouji, and Sero their quirks are pretty much limited because they're exactly what they say on the tin. Sero is a regular human who can make tape like spidey's webs. That's it. No enhanced strength, nada. Just a reasonably useful but not unstoppable quirk.

Shouji is really strong (he had 800 pounds of grip strength which is nuts) and his limbs can duplicate his body parts. That's it. The end.

Jirou hasn't been gone into much. I guess the fact her jacks have to enter stuff to project sound are a drawback.

I used to think OFA worked like that until the origin of it was explained.

OFA is made up of the quirk from AFO's brother (A useless quirk that can only pass itself on), and a quirk that was described as "building its own power".

Basically, OFA's power gathers in the user regardless of what they do or don't do. It's only OP because it can be passed on which means it can grow so long as no one dies while holding it.

Also the quirk has had roughly 100-150 years to build up since it came from the advent of quirks.

The bad thing? On average if you calculate how many bearers there have been each owner only lasts 15 or so years with it. If it's by coincidence or what, OFA seems to be the path to a short life.

Also, it's not clear if passing it on also passes on some sort of essential life force. All Might's sire died of his injuries I guess, and All Might most definitely started dying (by his own admission) the instant he passed it on.

If that's All Might succumbing to his lingering injuries without OFA or OFA having taken his life force with it, who knows. I say the latter because if he dies without it, that obviously means it has some sort of ability to sustain its user.

I don't think OFA passes on outside quirks. OFA came to be because the younger brother's quirk-passing quirk fused with the older brother's power stacking quirk. They're not two quirks anymore, so they can't be used independently of one another. A natural quirk user can't inherit OFA and then just pass off his quirk while keeping the power stacking.
