Together with Evangelion it introduced a new generation to anime.
After all the Shonen in TV, it showed teenagers (like me) that anime is capable of heavy and serious stuff and can be an adult medium.
Doesn't matter that it doesn't hold up and was probably shit in the first place, it served its purpose.
>the reason behind the title
Nozomi was best girl by far.
The beginning, the flashback arc followed by the great revelation, the OVA I guess. The rest was pretty mediocre.
>manga was miles better
And of course there is always this faggot.
The artwork started horrible and ended with mediocre at best. And the story went completely insane.
There is literally no reason to read this.
I've tried to watch this show 4 times now over the course of 4 years, and every time I drop it sometime around when the comically edgy mercenary dude shows up. That combined with the fact that they throw in bad ecchi comedy and make the pink haired psychic girl literally retarded just kills my interest. Do people really like this show that much? Does it really pick up at some point?
This, and the first 10 minutes of the anime. I mean you can call it shit all you want but the first 10 minutes is great.
Compare this with "dark" anime now which rely more on drama bullshit.
