the same say I reacted after I finished NGE and didnt know there was the end of evangelion. So I was watching youtube videos explaining until I occasionally saw a very small spoiler, than I discovered EoE.

I was very confused but happily they made a decent ending after all.

I would have dropped it by the third episode for being the shittiest giant robot anime I'd seen at that point

I envision something similar to the response of the hyouka ending. Not enough substance to call it conclusive but it brings an end to the stories of the characters you were (supposed) to care about.
