The way I see it, the only reason the Sea King invaded to begin with was because he is confident of taking on the Sky King if he needed to. And the Sky King showed up later because he knows the Sea King is dead.

Well the Subterranean King attacked because he was desperate. If what they said in the story was true, they only invaded the surface because they were over-populated and needed to expand.
IMO Sea King couldn't kill both of the others at the same time, but he could take out Sky King if Subterranean King was already out of the way.
