Digimon is only good dubbed. Jap Adventure is horrible but in the dub is great. The jokes they added are what makes it, the original is boring and the music in the dub is good too (Not muh jpop). Also names are easier to say and more realistic and they made it more like what it is, a kids show. Jap version is boring as fuck but dub is high energy and full of fun and goodness, way better. Anyone who watches the Jap version is just a retard and everyone who watches the dub agrees with this.

I feel like the Omnimon scene is always brought up within the first 5 posts every time this kind of thread is made just because a lot of people watched it when they were 6, so the nostalgia goggles have thickness of untold proportions. Same goes for the "The dub is better" widespread opinion that inevitably comes up soon after.

Just as a comparison from the same series, the Wargreymon digivolution or any of the key evolutions for Patamon and Gatomon are way more hype and carry much more weight than the omnimon scene.
But they never come up because a lot of the people who watched the movie at 6 probably just watched the series itself on tv, sporadically, and never even saw its topical points.

The problem is the lack of real voice direction. Things like wooden reading, mispronunciations, and weird intonations or inappropriate emoting could all be corrected by a competent voice director. He'd stop the cut and say "you messed that up, it should be more like this."

Yet you can tell in most English dubs there's no process like this. As long as they read the line word for word and match the lip flaps they go with it.

Funnily enough, even though Funi is infamous for censorship and low quality subs, their dubs are among the best in the current English dubbing scene. You can tell the VAs have put a lot of practice into the characters compared to, say, Sentai dubs.

The only thing that I dont like about the original version is that some of the Digimon when they evolve they still have the same voice. I watched digimon in another country and im glad that the rest of the world get the series straight from the original version except for a few things, I remember that some of the dialogues where really depth and my parents where like ''is this a kids show?''.
