Are we allowed to talk about SAO here or is it too uncool?
The fact that people ask if we are allowed to talk about anime on /a/ just highlights how far /a/ is from becoming a respectable board.
The post 2006 newshits, reddit and /jp/ edgelords have transformed the glorious original board into an empty husk.
Don't mean to interrupt, but what if we 3 leave at the same time?
Yes. Of course you can talk about SAO, even if it is shit.
I liked the first arc of SAO, even though it was disjointed and full of time skips. The idea of people coming to accept that they're trapped in this mmo world and have to make the best of it is fun, but the way the arc ended was genuinely stupid and everything that came after just continually surpassed my expectations of disappointment.
People will say you have shit taste for basically every anime here on /a/, so yeah, we are allowed.
I liked the first half of s1, the second half just didn't feel like SAO anymore, though it was still fun to watch.
I haven't seen s2 yet, but in my opinion it should have ended with the first one, or, even better, the Aincrad arc. Once they get out of the first game there is really no reason to continue.
I enjoyed SAO, I like the games and Light novels too.
Shh SAO triggers the /a/hivemind. You need to smoke up the drones first then we SAO fags can dicksuck and say how it's cool that Asuna is a MarySue cause MarySue make best waifu breeding material and the glopping was just Reki working out his sexual frustration because his gym teacher took his virginity and told him he would kill his parents if he told anyone.
All of us have moved on to better places. I just lurk here from time to time and soak in the cognitive dissonance and butthurt you faggots emit. Pretending anime is not anime and replying with memes and greentext is pathetic tbf.
i couldn't get through the first LN purely because it was written badly. I can't read nip yet, so I am fully willing to admit that it may have been the translators inept english abilities rather than the author's skill, but either way I could just not make it through. Honestly think it's a bit of both since I was able to stomach season 1, but I had to quit after they were fighting snow giants or some shit.
this makes no sense. hero needs to be full profile due to hero's action-ness. front view is for emoting. heroes don't emote. MCs emote.
your conception of characterization is shit.
The first few episodes were alright. Season 2 was a huge pile of unnecessary shit.
Would have been better if there were more real life segments, instead of "THERE IS ANOTHER GAEM THAT THE BITCH IS IN, GO SAIV HER XD"
try reading the Progresive manga. It focuses less on Kirito, and he comes off more tolerable and replaces some of his angst with amusing smugness. Asuna is treated like an actual main character rather than a decoration.
I had a thing for some of the awesome costumes designs there. Especially Kirito's silver-lined black longcoat...unf. (How he wore the coat over a simple V-neck tee reminded me a bit of Christopher Eccleston's garb in Doctor Who - simple combination yet gives the impression of the wearer being casually tough, at least for me.)
