Would have you liked Umaru-chan if people didn't use this show for shitposting?
No, because the main character is an unlikable cunt, the plot is non-existent (which is a problem since the characters can't grow out of their shit state), and the animation was mediocre.
I hate to be that faggot who says it, but this is as close to a 'meme' show as it gets.
I'm immune to insufferable fanbases so I enjoyed it quite a lot. There's also how the threads about the actual show that were created when a new episode got released were about as normal as it gets for /a/, if you checked any of the threads about best girl, hamsterposting and other crossboarder shit then it's your own fault that you hate Umaru now.
>chilling out with friends in a chatroom
>suddenly, X bursts in
>X: OMG I HATE THAT STUPID ANIME BEAR GIRL
>X: SHE'S MISREPRESENTING ALL THE ARTISTS
>what the fuck are you talking about
>X: I DONT KNOW HER NAME BUT SHE TURNS INTO A LITTLE BEAR WHEN SHE WEARS HER HOODIE
>sounds like umaru, but thats not a bear
>X: WHO CARES I HATE HER NOT ALL ARTISTS ARE LIKE HER
after much "what the fuck are you talking about", she finally explains why
>X: ALL SHE DOES IS DRAW ONCE AND BE LAZY ALL DAY
>X: SHE'S SUCH A HUGE BURDEN TO HER BROTHER
>X: ARTISTS ARE NOT LIKE THAT. ARTISTS =/= NEET
And we go back to "what the fuck are you talking about" with the added "she's not an artist at all"
>Did you even watch the show
>X: NO, I HAVE A FRIEND WHO WATCHES IT RELIGIOUSLY AND HE TOLD ME HOW SHE'S A NEET ARTIST
>we already told you, she's not an artist. She didnt even draw anything during the entire show
>are you gonna watch it now?
>X: NO I HATE CUTE SHIT LIKE THAT
And this person draws fat robots on tumblr
Talk about random hate

I haven't watched an anime since the final last episode of AoT and I was going to get back into watching anime with this series since people were posting it everywhere. During though, I didn't like the jokes, the mannerisms, the writing, it honestly felt too childish... I imagine it's the same feeling a father would feel if he saw his son watching mlp or some shit. I really felt too old at 23 to be watching this series and none of the comedy was getting across to me. I haven't tried getting back onto watching a new series since and it's been months since that attempt, and maybe a year and a half now since I've seen a new series. I've been sticking to manga.
Is growing up supposed to feel this scary guys?
Taihei falls in love with Umaru.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl's PSN code. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately MPs her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with Taihei's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of INCEST.
it had the best op
I really wanted to like it, the oreimo-esque character was appealing. However the fact that she was a selfish brat with no character progression made me weep. The shitposting couldn't make me more dissapointed in this show than I already was.
I like the manga and it was animated by Dogakobo so i was going to enjoy it regardless. I was actually surprised how much attention the show attracted.
Shitposting is a necessary evil for shows like these. At first glance I didn't gave two thoughts about Umaru but grew curious after all the spam and shitposting so I got to watch this good show.
Nah. It was garbage even without the shitposting. The Ebina-chan spinoff might be decent.
I enjoyed all the side characters more than the main characters.
I also love shitposting with Umaru.
Same here, I was reading the manga way before the anime was announced, sadly it becomes a "shit-meme" anime on /a/ but it was faithful to the manga so everthing is good, if only /a/ could forget it and the manga fags were to only ones remaining.
I'd even go as far as to say this show's potential for shitposting is it's ONLY redeeming value.
So good work anon, you manged to make a shit show suck less. That's an accomplishment to be proud of. And no I'm not being ironic here.
What show has the most potential for shitposting?
>Would have you liked Umaru-chan if people didn't use this show for shitposting?
I still liked the show because I am not some autist that lets a shitty fanbase or shitposting ruin my enjoyment of a show
