Most western voice actors just don't give a shit. It's a job where they just go in, sit in a chair and read lines all at once with little to no input from staff and then they leave and collect their check.

Video games are a different animal. Cartoons are one thing, but video games a multi billion dollar industry. You get great voice acting or you don't put out a game, because your shit's going to be a $15 million turd if you don't.
