hello /A/ why do gaijins like fate / stay night more than fate zero?
And nips like Fate Zero more as well.
I was under the impression that only 14 year old's and neckbeards who fantasize about Rin liked Stay Night more than Zero.
Don't know how anyone can claim SN is better than Zero. The protagonist in SN is one of the most cringe worthy insert characters I've ever seen.
You've lost me.
STAY NIGHT is a poorly written harem battle shounen self insert hentai ass pull garbage.
ZERO is an avant-garde masterwork packed with thought-provoking conflict, philosophy, and adult mature characters.
I know you're being a comedian but I know that weeaboo trash
like EVA fanboysare wacky enough to believe this kind of thing
Agree. Kiritsugu was a badass and mature character, while Shirou was the geneirc nice guy shounen protagonist harem master.
In the Zero we saw the conflicts of adult, intelligent characters. While Stay Night followed cooking dinner and dates with immature teenagers.
Reminder not to take people who espouse any of these arguments seriously.
>"People die when they are killed."
>"She's like an educated prostitute."
Can't stop the cringe.
It's not just his dialogue but his monologues. He's a bare bones cardboard insert character. Little to no personality with a horrible case of naive idealism.
>Shirou is annoying/insufferable
That's a legitimate criticism though. People tend to dislike obsessive moralfaggotry and Shirou is the epitome of that.
Kiritsugu was annoying as fuck as well.
And how is thinking something is mediocre bad? I thought UBW was pretty mediocre (the VN, dropped the anime).
Unless you are strictly talking about secondaries who prefer Zero, those don't make sense.
This thread it's bad and you should feel bad. The only good Fate is Kalied Liner Prisma Ilya.
Carnival Phantasm gets an honorable mention but strictly speaking it's a crossover.
Yeah, a story that tackles essential nature of heroic ideals; pragmatism and selfless actions for selfish reasons. Emotions and logic. Facades in society. Consequences of our actions. Regret. Nihilism. Meaning of existence and sense of self. Meaning of choice. Perception of people. Perspectives on good/evil. Consent and fate. Societal values and morality. And a shitload of other things.
It is just otaku bait.
>you are illiterate
Brilliant argument my secondary friend.
Shirou has complete disregard to societal rules or even sense of morality. His "morality" is only governed by his ideal - "making people feel good would make me feel happy so making them feel bad is wrong". Did you even read the "bye, Shinji" ending?
Shirou admits that he WANTS people to be in danger so there exists something for him to save others from.
He is not driven by morality or conscience. The clear parallels with Kirei only reinforces this.
How can I be a pedophile when Chlöe is so unsexy? I like her for the character development
>Yeah, a story that tackles essential nature of heroic ideals; pragmatism and selfless actions for selfish reasons. Emotions and logic. Facades in society. Consequences of our actions. Regret. Nihilism. Meaning of existence and sense of self. Meaning of choice. Perception of people. Perspectives on good/evil. Consent and fate. Societal values and morality. And a shitload of other things.
Yes, all that in a medium designed to pander to wish fulfillment and masturbating.
Yeah because the Ilya from fsn is essentially Chlöe and the albino one doesn't have any of the memories our personality traits of the fsn character. It's almost like that's the entire plot of 2wei
>why do gaijins like fate / stay night more than fate zero?
Because better animation, OST and less fuckups in the adaptation. Story doesn't even matter since it's mediocre in both installments.
>That's Shirou's entire character.
Maybe if you're a secondary.
While Shirou is broken and insane with a limited range of emotion, he is also sarcastic and inventive. His relationship with Rin is all about him jabbing at her facades and getting her to open up from her hermit-like existence.
>less fuckups in the adaptation.
>The VN paragraph is very nice headcanon lol
At least Shirou isn't a colossal faggot.
this in all its entirety i have only one friend who likes stay night more than the other series and hes a "muh superior animation" fag who is obsessed with rin and gets off to her fucking bare skin between the skirt and thigh highs.
>statement calls Shirou annoying
>anon claims it's a legitimate criticism
>other anon says it's not a legitimate criticism because Shirou isn't governed by morality
Take a few moments to think about what is wrong with you.
>Medea will never get a route
just fucking kill me.
Shiroufags and Shinjifags are the same kind of people, in my opinion.
Both are characters who are commonly referred to as obnoxious, but they both have really die hard autists who see themselves in each character and take any insult (which are common with these sort of characters) to the character as an insult to themselves.
Evafags are a lot worse though desu
Not speaking on the quality of the characters themselves.
This man may possibly be the one main character to rule above all the protagonists of any anime I've ever seen.
>Has a hot Servant
>Has a hot partner
>Has a hot kouhai
>Fucks all of them
>Doesn't give a fuck about magic rules
>Or the Grail War rules
>Or the Grail
>Saves the world without killing people
>Succeeds where his loser dad failed
>Beats God-tier servants and his future self like they're shit
>Fuck your Noble Phantasms
>Fuck your utilitarianism
Emiya Shirou: Badass of badasses
You just took 4 sentences to say "I think Shirou and Shinji are self-inserts"
>Not speaking on the quality of the characters themselves
Just because people self-insert a a character, doesn't mean the character is a self-insert character. I go off-roading in a 2000 Buick Le Sabre, that doesn't make it an off-road vehicle.
I will admit that Zero was by no means a terrible anime. It wasn't great but watchable, although it was a LOT of wasted potential. And all the pseudo epic crap made it difficult to take it any way seriously. It takes itself seriously, that much is clear, but if you can really take it seriously then you gotta have some kind of mental deficiency. Zero is probably the best thing in the world if you are 15. It has just the right amount of edge and chuuni delusion fuel that you cannot help but like it. After all, it's a bunch of "badass" heroes from different legends fighting each other.
F/SN doesn't take itself seriously and just for that, I have way less trouble actually enjoying it. It's a fun battle shounen in an interesting setting.
UBW (VN) > HF > Fate > Zero
>There will never be a VN of the first Grail war featuring young idealist Zouken as the protagonist.
>it takes itself far too seriously.
As far as actual self-insert characters, only nukige and really terrible LN battle harems/VNs
Other than that, most try to be relatable to as many people as possible while having some sort of face/personality. They aren't exactly self-inserts but obviously panders to that sort of thing.
Are you sure you read the VN? Because I cannot believe how anyone who read the VN could actually really think this.
Now I am curious. Do you think Zero takes itself less seriously than SN?
>>and no amount of cancerous bait meme images will change that
The admiral from the Kantai Collection anime but holy shit what kind of faggot has Fubuki as a waifu Jesus Fucking Christ.
Also Mutsu a cute but she needs to stop smoking in the docks.
she is the moest
>if I post enough meme images I'll be right without having to argue
Just because a character is a self insert it isn't automaticaly bad, jesus christ
>Zerofags will defend this
>Urobuchifags will defend this
>Emiya Kiritsugu’s right hand continued its work of writing while his left hand mechanically shoveled his nutrition – hamburgers from a fast food restaurant he bought while investigating – into his mouth. For nine years, Emiya Kiritsugu had eaten at the table of the Einsberns, who were merely a hair removed from royalty themselves. He had grown tired of the cuisine. This fast food, filled with the sense of slaughter, was more suited to his tastes. Being able to eat without interrupting one’s words or thoughts was better than anything, no matter how you looked at it.
>Go ahead and dump your whole folder of those autistic images.
>implying he's not right
>Let me ask you this, do Fatefags not take F/SN seriously? Because that's the real question in play here and the answer is pretty obvious.
>They both take themselves too seriously
But F/Z tries really fucking hard to be deep, thought provoking, dark and mature, and it fails misserably. On the other hand, there are not many examples of SN trying to venture into pseudo-philosophical terrain, complex instrospective scenes, symbolism, social criticism, etc, like there are in Zero.

You want me to pull out of examples of Fatefags wanking themselves to the "deep" philosophical analysis of heroism in F/SN?
>all the le ebin fate bait picks
Fate discussions were always terrible opinion pieces and relative powerlevel circlejerk with waifu blended in, but nothing comes even close to being as cancerous as fate bait picks
He's probably a secondary who has never touched the VN.
So are you critizing the material or the fans? You'll find people arguing about the deep and intricate themes of Justin Bieber lyrics if you look hard enough. If you think the quality of the source is to be judged by the way people talk about it, then you've fallen right into a logical fallacy trap.
>Look at me I'm above those cancerous Fate fags with their opinions and discussions!
F/SN never brings up real philosophical and literature references, and the mood and style of the reflective scenes is way lighter.
Zero does have those, since Urobuchi loves sneaking references to other writer's work, sometimes in a less than subtle way.
>F/SN never brings up real philosophical and literature references, and the mood and style of the reflective scenes is way lighter.
It just seems to me that you have never read the VN. The Fate route's church basement scene, trapped in all the world's evil, UBW's blood fort, or pretty much anything in HF are a lot darker than what you see in F/Z.
I don't remember any particular literary references in F/Z. Madoka and PP are chock full of them though
Hol' up. This has to be bait. I don't have an image unfortunately. But what you're saying is that the people who are responsible for the low quality of discussion in these threads are F/SN fans and secondaries.
So, in order to be a valuable contributor to the discussion, you have to like Zero and pretend F/SN doesn't exist but at the same time you have to have read the VN because otherwise you would be considered a secondary.
This is the non-sense I expect of your typical (mentally) 15-year-old Zero fans.
>only secondaries take the VN seriously
Ok, so you are just retarded. By the way, just from the fact that you are not properly capitalizing your posts I can deduce that you are not a frequent visitor of this board. Go back to /v/.
>nasu is and always has been a hack and the length of fate / stay night could have been cut in half without losing any character development
There's no literature references in F/Z, all the literature references spouting by Makishima in PP isn't Urobuchi's doing and the imagery references to faust is Shaft's thing.
I enjoy the chaos between his writing and the varying degrees of catastrophic translation. It's its own manner of poetry. Far-side turkeyhandle was particularly fun. It was a lot of fun deciphering that stuff with /a/.
It just seems to me that you have never read the LN.
Let's make it short, if you can post a single literary or philosophical reference in the VN, I'll admit defeat. Claiming it's "darker" or "deeper" it's useless since that's subjective. I've read both novels and SN's mood is not as dark as Zero's to me, and before you say anything, I'm not equating dark to good.
Nasu is just as "edgy" as Urobuchi, there's just more breaks with other fluff. There is no significant difference between Zero and the VN taken as a whole, it's mostly the contrast in the perspectives of the characters that the story is told through.
>There's no literature references in F/Z
You don't read enough, my friend. Or you are misunderstanding what I mean with literary references, it's not mentioning authors or book titles like in PP, it's homage to their lores or writing styles.
the irony is wonderful
>You don't read enough, my friend. Or you are misunderstanding what I mean with literary references, it's not mentioning authors or book titles like in PP, it's homage to their lores or writing styles.
Ok. The entire Nasuverse is fundamentally Lovecraftian and a homage to the works of H.P Lovecraft.
What the fuck are the mods doing? We've got cross boarding shitposters running rampant, posting retarded textspeak memes and bump-limit threads about how Pixar movies are better than anime and anime has declined since Pokémon, and no one's getting banned.
Assuming that you're the guy that he's replying to, you're the one who claimed that Zero had literary or philosophical references, shouldn't you be the one with the burden of proof to support that claim?
>The entire Nasuverse is fundamentally Lovecraftian
Barely. The more Lovecraftian stuff was added by, surprise surprise, Urobuchi, who has been borrowing stuff from HP since his VN days.
>The more Lovecraftian stuff was added by, surprise surprise, Urobuchi
"I can retort your points and actually respond to your post, but let me just post this picture of Gate of Babylon with hooks instead of swords instead, that'll blow you away!"
>implying I was talking that image specifically
You can't be this stupid, can you?
I liked the fate rout of the VN the best. I thought the romance between Shirou and Saber was well done.
UBW is pretty boring.
F/Z is okay.
>I thought the romance between Shirou and Saber was well done.
Lately I've been noticing a breed of Saberfags that don't support the Shirou x Saber romance.
They either think Saber belongs to them because mai waifu or to Rin because that stupid sex scene, either way they disgust me beyond measure.
To be fair, I only think it works if you turn of the H-scenes, otherwise Shirou's confessions on the bridge come across as stupid.
But I like it, it's functional as star crossed lover stories go, and it's interesting in the sense that Saber comes to represent both Shirou's ideals, and his father. The fact that Shirou thinks Saber, who represents his ideals, lead an unappreciated life, sets up core theme of UBW nicely. It just kinda works for me.
Saber Alter is best Saber, then Nero, then lion costume Saber.
Saber belongs to Rin in ubw good end, but not the other parts of the series.
Fate/Stay Night is a gateway eroge of the worst kind. It's a bad game, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive powerlevel faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the VN itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the Noble Phantasms, ridiculous, color-coded clothes, the whole Servant faggotry and everything about the Fate/Stay Night world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on heroism, and overall chuuni tone of the VN makes it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.
Fate/Stay Night is basically THE franchise to attract the most hated fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this franchise and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Fate/Stay Night threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.
I love it when people take old copypastas and replace a few words.
