Tatsumaki is extra moe this chapter, damn.
>H-City is already half destroyed
>Tatsumaki continues to destroy the other half
Wow rehashing the same old gag.
Amazing this chapter was so hilarious!
I'M FUCKING KIDDING.
Does this guy even have any original ideas or is he going to rehash the same shit over and over until you retards realize whats happening.
The interaction between tatsu and saitama was funny as hell. Especially seeing him talking casually to her as his face is being slid through concrete. You're just mad at the last page so fuck off.
Man, what's with this art style?
It looks like "dog shit"
>It'll still take about a month to update the rest of the chapter.
just let him fuck her already (one).
I'm pretty sure ONE confirmed that Dragon level threats weren't a problem to him. He also said that things would have gone a bit differently if he was with the rest of the heroes in the fight against the monster association.
He's always known he was stronger than everyone (as the recent sparring episode with Genos brought up), and he did have a side of him that taunted his opponents a bit (the giant from one of the earlier chapters). I assume that's what you're referring to?
Nobody he 'crippled' actually stayed crippled, even Charanko was shown fine afterwards, if I recall right. And Tatsumaki is causing more collateral damage than Garou did right now, does she deserve to die too?
>Destroyed Saitama's house
Put that bitch in the ground
Actually at this point of time, why is she still trying to beat down Saitama? She no longer cares about disciplining Fubuki, Saitama isn't even baring his fangs, is she just trying to pound respect into his skull?
I never really had a problem with it. I found most pages funny thanks to his art
He said that he thinks ONE's art is charming and he doesn't know why people hate it
Because he called her a midget and its pretty much a childish squabble between the both of them. The problem is Tatsumaki is pretty used to making everybody kneel before her so it's going to take some time before she realise she can't force Saitama to kneel.
She's lived her life as the untouchable, undisputed strongest, and then Psykos gets a good hit into her. Then, while she's trying to get revenge on Psykos/discipline her sister, some baldy gets in her way and she realizes that she can barely even faze the guy. It's really a pride thing.
Are we even reading the same webcomic? Garou doesn't attack people for no reason, he hunts cocky heroes and defeats them to prove his superiority. He doesn't attack innocents, he only kills monsters, and he idolizes the concept of actual heroes, but in his mind nobody can live up to that ideal.
He's a hero who's in denial about wanting to be a hero by pretending to be a monster instead.
Actually is she really considered spoilt? Didn't they show her getting abandoned and locked up in a cellar when a monster broke out in the lab she was in? Nobody came to save her, it was probably the turning point for her current personality. I just wonder if spoilt is the right word for her personality.
Most people in the show just call her a shitty brat or a shit-faced brat
oh my fucking god. I hate it when authors do this.
>I'm actually the villains woman
>I'm joining this villain to save you (but the villain doesn't know)
>I never really liked you (she's lying), so I'll join the Villain
Along with stupid plots like companions betraying or joining the boss villain. Reminds of Nami joining Along...or Nami AGAIN joining Shiki to save the crew (from that one movie).
Saitama's and Tatsumaki's interactions are brilliant. They're pretty much a perfect fit for each other.
I know people here hate shipping, but if Saitama were to get together with anyone by the end of the series, it'd probably be Tatsumaki.
She's just angry. She's a spoiled brat coddled by her power that has no impulse control. She's never faced someone that didn't either back down in terror or break immediately when faced with her power.
Imagine if Saitama finally found someone he couldn't one-shot with a serious punch. That's what she's going through right now, even if she doesn't realize it yet.
>Actually is she really considered spoilt?
She is not spoiled in sense of materialism. She is spoiled by authority.
If you grow up with nobody saying no to you, and if they do say no, you can just disagree, you get a rather fucked personality.
No. I am actually very curious how ONE is going to resolve this fight between Saitama and Tornado.
Since the teaser where Tornado almost used her powers on Saitama during the UFO aftermath, I was waiting for this fight to happen, and it finally did.
Yeah. If you hadn't noticed by now, she's loving every second of this. Why do you think she's just throwing Saitama round buildings like a punching bag and not just trying to crush him with absolute overwhelming psionic might? Even though she's pissed she's still holding back because she's loving the fact that she's finally found a toy that won't break.
Saitama's thing is that he wants that to happen since that's what he trained for.
What differentiates him from Tatsumaki is that he didn't grow up super, he was an average human until he broke his limiter. Tatsumaki has always been a cut above the rest and it's given her a massive ego.
Your face when Sonic is now a professional jobber with Genos?
Spoiled Brat is kinda growing on me. Like I think I like her.
>I knew that deadpan face getting dragged against the ground had to be him/
To be honest, I'm still thinking all this time, his motto is just he is a hero for fun/hobby, yet he registered anyway*. I still think he doesn't care about ranks, despite Genos bringing it up multiple times.
*Probably needs cash allowance/reward
Sonic has literally always been a jobber. And he has only himself to blame since he declared Saitama his rival.
>could also be taken more literally
No, not really. That's just not how those words are used.
I know ESL people often mix up english phrases. I assume the translator was thinking of 'snot-nosed brat' and 'shitty brat' and just mixed things up.
I assume the original was something like くそガキ? You could translate that any number of ways, 'shitty brat' being probably the most literal.
She's not willing to admit it yet though. Maybe next chapter but I doubt it. After this I have a feeling she's going react to his power just like Sonic has been doing never admitting defeat
ONE did say his living conditions have improved since becoming a professional hero. Hell, now he's got a bunch of contacts, he's starting to get more fame, and he's getting paid for his hobby now.
I don't know about that, anyone who just blames others for their mistakes or levels a city just to prove a point doesn't exactly say "good personality. Also this >>133079402
Best onee-san or greatest onee-san?
waiting for Saitama to defeat Tatsumaki in the only appropriate way to deal with a brat
Context is key, anon. Just like "wasted" can mean "drunk off their ass" or "gunned down in the prime of their life" in addition to its typical meaning of "Pointlessly thrown away."
ONE already blown fujoshits the fuck out, hopefully shipperfags are next
>dresses in sexy black
>reveals her naked butt to people in range
She's a thirsty christmas cake who's longing for a big strong man (me).
Some tweet he posted a couple of weeks ago, I forgot what it said, maybe someone can translate it.
When Saitama said he doesn't swing that way to Armored Gorilla.
No, that was someone lying. ONE said something about not being interested in that or something. It was a typical diplomatic refusal.
It'd be easier to count whom among the S class can't defeat a Dragon level threat. Pri Pri comes to mind. Zombie Man too, unless it's someone like Homeless Emperor who can be harmed by conventional methods. Evil Water and Black Sperm were especially strong, so let's give Child Emperor the benefit of the doubt? Maybe Tank Top Master, I don't know. He lost to Garou, but maybe if he had to face off purely on brute strength, he could win against a Dragon level threat? I kind of doubt it.
I know this isn't a harem manga, but it'll be hilarious if Fubuki and Tatsumaki start competing with each other over Saitama. Especially since he doesn't really care about either of them.
It's easy to see Tatsumaki developing a complex towards Saitama the same way Sonic has. As for Fubuki, she already showed her desire to get close to Saitama (which has been covered up by her recruitment campaign for him). That's about all that can be said with certainty.
Fubuki's barrier could block Rover's breath attack, which is probably even stronger than Genos' heat rays. Sonic probably wouldn't be able to harm Fubuki at all, but the moment Fubuki shifts to attacking, he'd be able to take her down. She's not like Tatsumaki who can use pure psychic force to strangle a person, after all. She'd need to rely on physical objects such as dust and pebbles to attack.
Characters who don't get along produce the most entertaining dynamics if the writer knows how to handle it.
I dunno why people care whether a character is an asshole or not. Tatsumaki and Saitama's banter is more fun to read than Fubuki has been at any point.
It seems like Fubuki has been the only one to use techniques while the other espers just focus on raw power. Tatsumaki tried to attack Saitama's aura but that's about the only technique she uses.
What's really spooky about Tatsumaki is how she can just crush you or snap your neck at a distance.
Everyone else has to close the distance or actually hit you with a projectile.
>A WHOLE NEW WORLD
Disneyfags know what I'm talking about.
I'm really loving how this is going on, it's this strange back and forth between the two of them that is making this so entertaining. Saitama is more than fine with being thrown through shit, and is more worried about the collateral damage, while Tatsumaki both seems to have adjusted to the fact that Saitama is taking literally everything shes got and isn't even scratched in stride, while also getting frustrated that he isn't flinching
Fubuki should have other tricks. Tatsumaki referred to Psykos' skills during her fight against the latter's meat doll as being rather methodical? Something like that. Fubuki has used her power to crack the pavement into pieces to crush people with them, and she's also thought up other tricks for dealing with psychics while teaching them to her underlings, so Fubuki might have a wider repertoire than what she's shown so far.
Murata's Tatsumaki can't wear the same plain style, though. Her dress is simply slit too high.
Whatever it is, it's going to be different. We'll find out in... oh, seven years or so.
I want to be humiliated by Tatsumaki.
>new opm chapter oh boy
>its not the murata version
I think both of them are having fun
As rivals in a fight, not as a couple
>quality of visuals should not matter in a visual medium
>Hurry up and finish eating you bald worm!
>A-Ah but it's best to savor every bi
>I've already paid the bill, get up, were continuing!
>W-Wait let me finish my AH!
And then she drags him off again through another building
Guys I'm scared for King , what if tats drags Saitama to King's lair at HQ and let them go at it to decide if Saitama is really strong(even tho he is) and this leads to King being exposed as a weak neet?
Why would she do that? She can tell Saitama is strong, since the guy has been getting thrown around like a rag doll and doesn't have a scratch. She even mentioned she could crank her power up and he might not die, which means she perceives him no longer as fodder, but as someone who can seriously take what she throws at him
>King being exposed as a weak neet
Never gonna happen
>Somethings chasing us
I love how at this point even Tatsu knows they aren't really fighting anymore. To the point where shes informing him about pursuers. She must not really be trying to seriously hurt Saitama anymore.
Honestly, the only way I see that happening is if immediately afterwards he gains some S-Rank power so that no one realizes he'd been faking the whole time and they just think he temporarily lost his powers.
I'll pay triple to make this happen.
Seems he really went out of his way for Fubuki. Nearly every panel she's in is pure sex. Also this >>133082119
No she is, she just realizes something to this degree isn't enough. Most likely shes going to crank it up even more next few pages and either get more frustrated that he isn't even phased, or expect as much from the pattern so far.
I thought because she was just casually referring to saitama that something was following them. That's not something that you would do to someone you were fighting to the death.
Well the problem is they aren't fighting to the death. Saitama hasn't swung once at her, it's basically just a battle of endurance at this point. Tatsumaki is trying to break Saitama, and Saitama is just trying to keep her occupied until maybe she calms down or tires herself out. So even if they are having casual conversation Tatsumaki is trying to hurt Saitama
It's rare to find someone moving that fast I guess. A dragon level monster is something the two deal with every week. The number of people moving Sonic Speed can be counted on one hand.
It was just an obstacle to run through. They probably didn't even notice it wasn't a building. But for someone to actually be chasing them, Tatsumaki probably detected around them to make sure no other S-Class heroes were coming to put a stop to this.
Why are you guys so overly defensive when shipping is involved? I can understand other series, but this is OPM, a shounen parody series, and we're talking about ONE here, cant you guys imagine all the romance shenanigans ONE would make?
Chances are, ONE is going to parody romance in this series one way or another.
unless the romance parody is that there is no romance at all
>someone goes to confess to Saitama while he is sleeping
>he wakes up at that exact moment and hears everything perfectly
>"no, not now, I just wanna sleep"
>yfw ONE makes her fall in love with Saitama
>instead of her going your normal tsundere route from tsun to dere she actually gets development and becomes an actual mature human being
"I am startled by the rumor going about that I hate and despise the fujoshi culture. I've never said anything to allude such, and frankly I'm just grateful that they read my work.
I wouldn't reject them, nor would I research the culture or be influenced by it.
I really don't have any opinion on the matter. "
>his motto is just he is a hero for fun/hobby, yet he registered anyway*. I still think he doesn't care about ranks, despite Genos bringing it up multiple times.
He only registered once Genos mentioned it's the reason nobody knows who the fuck he is.
The entire association thing (and him rising through the ranks) is literally just him doing it for recognition and other selfish reasons. Still it's all done with a passing interest that never goes beyond the whole hobby thing.
You have people like Fubuki and Sweet Mask who treat the rankings and their standings within the Hero Association as a life and death trial. Then you have Saitama who is honestly trying to reach the top and be famous but it's still him doing it with a passing interest to the point where if you gave him something interest to kill time with he'd probably go do something else.
Everyone else treats their rankings and hero work like an actual job or has this deep motivation to be the "strongest" or "greatest". Meanwhile Saitama, sticking with the hobby shit, acts like he's ranking up in a videogame. Sure he wants to be the top but him getting rank one would probably feel just as good as him being rank one in one of King's shitty videogames he steals.
Why are people calling Sonic a jobber after that fight?
Do you faggots even know what a jobber is?
If yes, were you actually stupid enough to think that Sonic had a chance to defeat either Saitama or Tatsumaki?
Just wait for official productions and empty those deep pockets into corporate wallets.
Usually by the age of 20, anyone remotely capable of constructive thought can differentiate a plot meta and in-universe logic in a conversation.
You seem to be a minority case of logic deficiency disorder.
A jobber is a role reserved in a story for a person who's shown to be strong who loses to someone who's stronger to hype up the latter's strength. They're a bigger jobber the more impressive their reputation is.
After watching the Hammerhead part in the anime I remembered that whole part with Saitama saying he's not so different and yada yada
Basically I feel like one of the main throughlines of the early manga was that Saitama was a depressed sack of shit and getting into heroism as a hobby didn't even help since he can't even feel the thrill of heroic deeds as it's essentially chores for him. This kinda gets dropped as side-characters get the spotlight but I feel that when (if) Saitama is gonna get some development it should come back to this idea.
>Jobbing is when you are a strong character who lose to the new guy to make him look strong.
Uh, no. Jobbing is a wrestling term for anyone whose purpose in the match is losing.
Jobber in fictional term derived from that, to mean a character whose plot purpose is to lose.
It is nowhere as restrictive as your head-definition, which likely grew inside of your skull until you were convinced of it.
The major problem with Saitama's lack of enthusiasm for his hobby is that he was alone. When you have a hobby and become so good at it you no longer get any pleasure out of it, one of the ways to keep the pleasure around is to show how good you are to others, not as some egotistic thing, but sharing your efforts with others and having them recognized can really brighten things up for people who are in a rut. Now that Saitama is surrounded by all these people, some of them who recognize what Saitama is capable of, and doing other things than just sitting around or doing hero work, and becoming more social, he's been brought out of his slump somewhat, or at least distracted from his problems. Basically, having an active social life and "friends" around can help you deal with not enjoying a hobby as much anymore.
I don't disagree but I feel like this has to be acknowledged/expanded by the webcomic to really have a character arc. Otherwise I think the last we had of Saitama actually feeling/thinking things other than minor hassle was when the whole Meteor stuff happened.
>Jobber in fictional term derived from that, to mean a character whose plot purpose is to lose.
Now tell me how your definition is better than the brazillion others on the net and I will adopt it.
Fuck the fags who brought this meme word in fiction
Has anyone translated all the drama Murata and ONE had to go through when they were first trying to get OPM published? The one Murata spoke on the Ustream. (details can be found on every 2ch thread in the starting template)
Pretty interesting shit but I've never seen it be a topic here or any other English boards
True. I mean during the Boros fight we see Saitama reminded of how strong he really is, and it still seems to be a sore spot for him. It's just my theory on how the character is being handled, though.
Alrighty then, sleep tight anon
Well, I guess when he gets mad at Garou for not believing in the "hobby" explanation can kinda count too. Saitama actually doesn't have any real motive so he can't answer anything else. Even though the scene starts played as a joke, he does get a bit upset with Garou (telling him to piss off in a way). That's all we have to go on though, snippets.
>Runs a marathon to fight a monster because all of the other s-class heroes are either hospitalized or busy
>Finally find the monster and is ready to take his anger out on it
>It gets killed before he could do anything
>Has to go back home on foot before his cat gives birth
Being Metal Bat is suffering
No like, ONE's family was against him becoming a mangaka and Murata had to convince him and shit.
After five million copies sold I bet that family shut the fuck up.
Or that Murata was hospitalized before the deal was sealed and he thought to himself he really want to do this before he dies (he was fine, but you know how weak your will gets when you're sick as fuck)
Or how ONE already had a deal going with another publisher and Murata couldn't do work for them since he was still contracted to Shuueisha/Jump, so they had to go through hoops to move it to YJ
Shit like that
will post translation in a bit.
>No. I am actually very curious how ONE is going to resolve this fight between Saitama and Tornado.
Tatsu is going to, finally, use every ounce of power she had on Saitama. And as we expect it would have done nothing. She would then get tired.
Tatsu would then, finally, have to face a problem she can't brute force through. She would have to compromise.
This was from UStream when Murata was talking about Bullet Angel Fan Club.
Murata's recollection of events leading up to the redraw publication:
- Murata is recommended One Punch Man by Akiman (yes, THE Akiman)
- Spend a whole night reading all of it
- He wants to team up with ONE but is conflicted
- He learns that ONE's family is against him becoming a mangaka, and Murata becomes worried and rushes to contact ONE
- The duo comes to an agreement to bring the work to a publisher
- The BAFC doujinshi was created as a result of this
- Murata tells ONE he wants to draw One Punch Man. ONE agrees.
- Shuueisha doesn't like the idea, and rejects them.
- OPM was already going to be published in a different publisher, but Murata is still contracted with Jump. He is conflicted on what to do.
- Murata says he almost died in the hospital
- He decided he wants to draw OPM before he dies. He goes to Jump to break his contract (therefore, losing any stable income)
- The duo goes to the publisher that was going to publish OPM, and learns that they were going to print so few copies.
- They take the work and present to various publishers
- They look for a publisher that will print the most copies, and found Young Jump to offer them the most.
- At first they weren't going to be a standard serialization, but Tonarino YJ (the online web Young Jump) was just starting, so they decided to have it serialized there.
In the end all this worked out the best for them, with OPM becoming the most successful web manga in the entire industry.
Murata even breached his contract with Shounen Jump and lost his job because he wanted to pursue doing this.
Just to follow up, the Shuueisha that rejected the idea was likely Shounen Jump editorial.
Funny they ended up with Shuueisha after all because Young Jump editorial actually liked the idea.
It's funny how many of what Shounen Jump rejects ends up being a huge hit in a different magazine. Same shit happened to Shingeki no Kyojin.
Do you think One is even close to finishing OPM?
Wow. Thank fucking god murata went through with it because otherwise we might now have OPM. Reading how he literally quit his job just to gamble on OPM makes me go doki doki
In case anyone is wondering, "Akiman" who is a friend of Murata is a legendary character designer and animator.
He is responsible for creating the Street Fighter II character designs, as well as Final Fight.
And countless other CAPCOM classics.
As for anime he handled the character designs for Turn A Gundam and King Gainer.
>I can draw better than Akiman
THIS is Akiman's level of work.
Who the FUCK are you.
Oh hell yeah.
Arakawa was rejected by WSJ before she went to SQ/EX to publish Full Metal Alchemist.
Which became one of the most successful shounen manga of all time.
Suzuki's Ultra Red was canned in Jump, and was declared out of their line up. After several serialization with other publishers, he finally landed a big hit in Magazine with Seven Great Sins.
And so on.
Does One have another job besides drawing Mob Psycho 100?
anon hes behind the plot for OPM, murata just draws and helps with the anime.
seriously though for all the artfags who atge ONE's art, you should at least read it to continue the plot if nothing else, because though visually its so-so, other parts of it artistically are perfect.
>Mr. Needlemouse was a name given to several prototypes of the character Sonic the Hedgehog on an early concept art sheet by his designer Naoto Ohshima. The name is an alternative translation of "Mr. Hedgehog", as needlemouse is a literal translation of the Japanese word for hedgehog (ハリネズミ, harinezumi).
>Feather seems to be taking this all quite well. Cool.
Regardless of anything else, she was forced to have a relationship with him. He isn't going to get out of his way to get her back as a girlfriend when she has a new life to lead.
Once she has her life sorted out, and if she is still interested, she would have approached him. But it is not up to him to to say "okay, you are MY bitch now", just after she was finally free to do what she wants.
The English translation also gives me the same feeling.
Also, rereading some old chapters. Stinger really improved himself after that ordeal with Sea King, huh? Although it's a 2 on 1, they're still doing way better against a Demon class monster compared to Atomic Samurai's disciples. Well, I guess it's also a matter of compatibility and the fact that the Grizzly Nyah was just a newborn wild animal acting on instinct. Can't really be compared to an intelligent monster.
Here's its sibling, for reference. Also Demon level.
>Murata says he almost died in the hospital
>>Murata says he almost died in the hospital
In general Japanese work culture cause people to work while sick. And this means we only hear about illnesses when they collapsed or was sent to the emergency room.
Demon level seems to have a huge range.
Stinger and other A class couldn't hold a candle against Sea King who was a demon class, but here they're able to tag-team one.
The kings (Sky/Earth/Sea and the Beast) all seem to be the top tier of Demon, just below the lowest Dragons.
>Demon level seems to have a huge range.
The higher the power level, the greater the range. This applies to both heroes and monsters. This is because the higher you go in power the fewer there are, and it makes no sense to create a scale that would only contain one or two monsters each.
With Demon, the measurement is all about how fast you can destroy shit. What separate Demon from Dragon is how Demons can't annihilate a city and then move to the next one.immediately. Kabuto, having the endurance to fight for 7 days without pause, is a Dragon because he can't get tired. While many Demon threats would generally be exhausted after 1 rampage and need to take a break.
He causes property damage all the time. Although he scolded her for almost hurting some civilians, he doesn't seem to mind it as much as it seems he can keep them relatively safe (and her getting angry at him for having to tell her that probably raised her level of awareness too).
But yeah, his end goal here is to get Tatsumaki to leave Fubuki alone. Beating her up is probably just a last resort kind of thing.
Stinger, Springstache, and Golden Ball have all shown feats deserving of superhero status.
While most other A class haven't shown anything worth shit (excluding Sweet Mask and the three musketeers).
I hope we get to see them actually be badass some day.
It's interesting to see how Atomic's disciples compare to those guys.
Iaian, given his name is a portmanteau of iaia (the quick draw thing) and iron (I think?), probably has the specialty of releasing several heavy slashes in an instant (basically, an inferior version of Atomic Samurai, less slashes and not strong enough to slice completely through). Spring Mustache, during his fight against Garou, released several quick cuts with his sword, but I think Iaian exceeds him in speed and strength. Still, his screen time actopm really hasn't been all that impressive compared to the feats Spring Mustache has shown us.
Then there's Okamaitachi (We're going with this?) who can slash with his sword such that it makes a blade of air (created by vacuum?). Doesn't seem like much considering how powerful Spring Mustache's Tomboy is, huh? Well, it'll probably look a lot more impressive when Murata gets around to drawing it.
And Bushidrill has done nothing at all.
Looking forward to seeing how Murata draws their fight against that demon hair guy. Hopefully he'll have them earn their status as being A heroes technically within the same category as S class heroes.
> cockroach buster reference with even the characters way before the creation of the Oneshot
Magic Man, Blue Fire, and Heavy Tank were no more impressive in the remake than they were in the original though.
They outrank the Spring/Ball duo, but they jobbed hard against Garou while the duo fared really impressively against him.
I still don't get what was the deal with these three, shicchi said they were comparable to S class but they were weak as fuck. We still don't know even how Magic Man fight. Fanbook even put him as "secret" like Engine Knight as if he had some some sort of incredible shit.
What do you think about fanarts portraying Tats blushing? I mean, even some times ago I would have been fine with it as it's cute, but the more I was thinking about it the more that seems out of character considering we never ever saw her blushing in ONE's or Murata's drawings. Wonder if he intend to make that happen at some point.
Heavy Tank was a straight up physical fighter, though, while Spring Mustache used a sword and Golden Ball his bullets. Plus, considering Garou was talking about getting used to fighting against weapon wielders, I don't think you can say he was going all out against them. Just staying on the defensive so he can learn how to deal with weapons.
Those 3 might actually be stronger than Spring and Golden, but just had the misfortune of being there when Garou began his hero hunting and wanted to make a big splash as he announced himself.
Removing the blush to compare.
>What do you think about fanarts portraying Tats blushing?
It makes her more kid-like, which was probably deliberate.
And I live that Saitama showed "look! I bent a 1000 yen note! That total beats your 500 yen coin!"
But of course Saitama would not be intimidated by a bent coin. He could probably bend a coin between his brows.
So, Tats was already confirmed a long time ago to wear normal white panties in the original, but what do you think Murata gave her?
>You can understand the text? What's Genos thinking at the end.
Your usual "Wow, Sensei is so amazing! Defeating Tornado of Terror, the Hero association's Ultimate Weapon, like she was a mere child!".
Is there any actual record on how much stipends heroes are given by the association?
Could a C class hero give up their day job?
There's this, which implies that upper rank C class heroes are probably paid better than those at the bottom of the rankings. Although we don't know at what rank a C class hero's income would become stable enough to live on, plus the rankings probably switch around often in A and C class (B class being mostly under Fubuki's control).
In meteor arc Saitama did his best to minimize the extent of the damage. Genos said the meteor and its shock wave were going to blow up everything and it was a miracle how it ended up thanks to Saitama. But right now he's doing nothing and literally gives zero shit when he can stop all the fuck anytime with one finger. That seems strange to me.
Overthinking to the max.
Genos was just fanboying about Saitama being awesome. Baldy simlpy smashed the meteor without thinkin abou shockwaves and physics of colliding objects.
In tank-top shaming arc he said himself he ain't got a fuck to spare, he does hero shit for fun (but still secretly wants recognition).
Saitama cares about other people, he's not a sociopath, but if it's too much effort a "good enough" solution will be chosen.
Naw, I mean Genos is crediting Saitama with things he didn't actually think about or intent to, like always.
Saitama smashing the meteor did save the city, the damage from the chunks is not comparable at all. The initial info was that meteor would raze to the ground not only this city but much more.
Considering ONE created a monster form for the usually shapeless Evil Water when Genos emerged from the rubble after Tatsumaki pulled out the Monster Association's facilities from underground, I wonder if the reason he dropped it was because he couldn't make it look interesting enough to appear beyond that?
Maybe Murata will keep it for the rest of the fight once he gets to that part. I'd be interested in seeing what he does with Evil Water.
Whose fan-club would you join besides Saitama's?
Poor Saitama. He just wants to be recognised for his work and have a fan club with cuties.
Context doesn't change the meaning of words, anon. Wasted means multiple things, and which thing it means can be indicated by context. Shit-faced means one thing. Trying to use a turn of phrase to mean its literal parts is something an ESL person would do, because they don't understand how the language is properly used, or that their are proper alternatives to what they're trying to say.
And if your literal meaning was "this brat has figurative shit on their face," which is also something that english speakers don't use to describe a face, then the proper way of saying that literally would be "shitty-faced brat," which would mean either that their face is shitty in the figurative sense of the word, or that their face is inundated with shit. Shit-faced, taken literally, would mean that their face is made of shit. You never hear people say the phrase "shitty-faced" because it's simply not a description english-speakers find use for.
The irony here, actually, is that shit-faced WAS a correct way of addressing a child contemptuously back in 19th century Scotland. That use of the phrase has been archaic pretty much for the last 300 years, because it's derivative was a corruption of 'cat' and not excrement.
>It's funny how many of what Shounen Jump rejects ends up being a huge hit in a different magazine. Same shit happened to Shingeki no Kyojin.
Except the pilot was absolute dogshit. It's no surprise that it was rejected also SnK would not have lasted in Jump with their system and would have been cancelled after 15 chapters. It was able to survive in Bessatsu because it had a very slim competition and was able t stand out, its success is nothing short of dumb luck considering how the manga has turned out.
>Arakawa was rejected by WSJ before she went to SQ/EX to publish Full Metal Alchemist.
She never went to Jump. she was picked up by as an assistant for Gangan and her debut work Stray Dogs was published there.
>Suzuki's Ultra Red was canned in Jump, and was declared out of their line up. After several serialization with other publishers, he finally landed a big hit in Magazine with Seven Great Sins.
That doesn't actually prove anything especially since he had not even come up with the idea for NnT back then so he couldn't even pitch it to them, so basically after a slew of failures in other publishers he finally had a hit....a decade later that was completely different from Ultra Red.
>Yet they constantly gamble on complete shit artists who fail in 10 weeks.
Because the work is shit, being a bad artist has nothing to do with anything. Jump works on a user based vvoting system and if the readers don't find the works interesting they're given the boot. Almost everything that gets canned just aren't good. Main reason why Jump continues to be on top while other publishers are struggling is because of this very system hell Sunday is going to adapt this system because their lineup is stuffed with titles that are unpopular and titles that should have ended years ago.
>Some editors are just terrible at seeing potential, that's all.
OPM is a hard sell and is only at this position due to years word of the mouth and internet memes
That's just the way Jump does things. They only care about explosive successes that run away and become 700-chapter juggernauts written, planned, and coordinated entirely by the editor while the mangaka and a team of assistants serve as artistic slave labour.
They probably kept Murata on contract just because they recognized his talent and wanted to save him for when some new and popular series came along and they needed a good artist for it. Eyeshield was never popular enough for SJ to give a shit about it, they would have cancelled it the instant they had a good use for his skills.
It's probably a good thing OPM didn't end up there, because both ONE and Murata would've had next to no creative input and it would've transformed into an unironic battleshounen after a few volumes.
