So is this the fastest some series got an anime adaptation?
No. World Trigger was faster. HxH too (the anime was announced in chapter 45, if I remember well). And with the same age as BnHA, Rurouni Kenshin had already an anime being shown on TV.
WSJD time. Boku no Hero Academia. Dumping the viz chapter here.
They also translated the first chapter of the spinoff.
Is it just me, or is this cover not great looking? Something about the faces.
Nope. Some rumors have said Bones, but if it was true (and it would be a big if) they'll have to actually try and not give it an anime-original ending.
Me? I'm hoping Madhouse.
So the things on Bakugou's belt aren't actually grenades, but a refill to his bracer.
nothing is particulary bad about this series, /a/ just hate the fact jump has something decent that doesnt have a completely dogshit art style and, and due to it gaining a steady pace of popularity and with the anime announcement, they'll just bandwagon on the hate train. just read it and form your own opinion
The /a/ hivemind doesn't like things getting too popular because people outside the secret treehouse club where no girls are allowed come in and go "wow, this is pretty good" and also get into it.
Just ignore people and enjoy whatever you want.
There's nothing bad about it. Its a shounen show with an endearing main character who gets an amazing power that makes him special, but he can't use it too much or it destroys his body.
/a/ will now shit post on it non stop due to the anime. So ignore /a/ autism and give it a read to make your own decision
If there's a raw floating around there should be no confusion. Seconds and minutes don't look alike in nip.
When he spreads his power throughout all his body, up until the festival arc he had only ever thought of using his power in an explosive manner due to how afraid he was of getting himself fucked over by it. During the mentoring program he understood that the right way to use the power was to try to use it throughout his entire body, at a % he can handle rather than trying to just use it on 1 limb.
That's minutes alright. Viz screwed up, unless I'm missing something.
I don't really like it! But it's neat there's a spinoff, I guess.
I'm glad the official translation cleared up the last page. FA's translation made it sound like Deku was kind of confused as to why he went back to save Kacchan, which felt OOC.
Horikoshi always like to change style for color pages for some reason. I notice this recently that his color pages have no consistency to his style, even the coloring and shading tend to change. This is probably just him having fun.
>yfw a manga based on AMERICAN COMICS got adapted this fast
>yfw people hate here hate on comics
>yfw when you faggots got fucking told after this quick adaptation based on fucking dc comics
Of course I would watch it, I've read this shit and it's pretty good. The tastiest part about all of this is how the author said he was heavily influenced in DC comics which /a/ hates.
Get mad /a/.
No, they have something like around 10 days to translate a chapter. And even in the volumes there are mistakes. In the first volume All Might once called his Quirk 'One For All' wrong, he said 'All For One'.
Since it's airing next year, that will mean it would be roughly two years between serialization and anime premiere.
Three years seems to be the average for Jump titles (Gintama, Toriko, Bleach, and Nisekoi each had 3 year gaps)
Kenshin, Reborn!, and Haikyu are the only other ones I can think of off the top of my head that had two years. HxH had only one.
forgot my pic
They REALLY haven't been bad at all, but alright.
Their Souma team is awful, though, though only because of localization.
>He doesn't know how things work
Retard, listen here. The Viz translator has around 10 days to translate the chapter, he gets the chapter he has to translate on the friday almost two weeks before the official release on monday. They don't do a chapter in just a few days and no manga author writes the chapter for the actual week, they are already drawing the 4th or 5th chapter in advance.
To make it understandable for a retard like you here an example: we and the nips got chapter 65 today, that means Horikoshi is already working on chapter 69 or 70 and the Viz translator should have gotten chapter 66 last friday.

They've been pretty awful. Mostly it's minor mistakes that read awkwardly, but there's more than a few giant errors.
See the first panel. Stain was talking about redeeming the concept of heroes as a whole, which is his entire motivation. Viz totally missed the point.
I don't get it. Why does Viz never include the ending text?
Has anyone translated the volume 6 omake yet? I need to know what Mina is saying about that cucumber.
All I've been bale to find is that Best Jeanist can freely control textiles.
it's just a thing they do
What that is, as far as I know, is an editor's comment. In my experience they're always removed from tankouban. They don't contribute much of anything.
They might not have it. The ending text is added on by the editors of the WSJ magazine. Viz gets clean digital copies of the manga before it's been composed.
See pic related. Viz got copies of each of the swimsuit images individually them put them together to make a new cover. They didn't get the Japanese cover and have to remove bits of it.
It always makes me somewhat sad when I read manga like this. A good premise with a cool world, but we'll probably never get a fleshed out backstory or a focus on how things are in other countries.
>We did it/Yes!! (やたあ！！！)
How'd I do? Would someone who actually speaks moon correct me?
I actually have no idea what the kanji are that All Might says, I'm just using context clues with the hiragana because my rune game is weak as fuck
Why would All Might be worrying about tying them up if there was only 20 seconds left?
Fuck's sake Viz. Scanlators come up with their translations in a day for free; they have an excuse for the occasional mistake.

Is it bad that until that last sentence I had no idea who he was?
Raws and ishuhui scans say 20 minutes. He's probably talking about when the test is going to be over though.
No, this concept is dying. The last WSJ title that had such a thing was World Trigger and it's anime was shit (is what i heard about it).
It will be handled like AssClass and Shokugeki no Soma, 24 episodes.
THE Abrupt NAME Column
(Trying to Fill in Blank Pages Column)
This is the NAME for the Izuku VS Todoroki fight in Vol. 5 (No.39). Compared to the tankobon you will realize there are some subtle differences in the distribution of panels. (Some changes to the middle left part)
>Since plot demands for the pages to be conjoined, dividing them up into 4 panels will seem unsightly.
>About this page, even though it only shows the distribution of the panels, after the NAME passed inspection, some minor changes were done to the concept art and dialog as well.
>Because I'm always racing against time, so the NAME can only show the overall plot development, and can't show the minor details.
>So when the NAME gets an OK, and when it's drawn into a manuscript, I often make changes to the dialog.

THE I Occupied This Space Because I Can Column
For the first half of the first chapter maybe, but he mans up pretty quickly.
Ok, I exagerated, but he's still that generic weak shonen MC that is "strong inside". That time when he said to the bomb guy "I will defeat you with my own power", man, that was the time when I lost hope with this manga.
>Has the "contaminated" connotation to it.
>Compared to that, the longed hoped for animation is finally decided. So good!!
>Because I forgot to draw an illustration here I decided at the serialization meeting to use shots of Bakugou. Very sorry about that.
I think it's a reference to that as well as All Might's twin antennae.
>At first before serialization I planned on Deku not having a quirk at all for the rest of the series.
>And All Might is just some big shot hero that encouraged Izuku at the beginning. That's the kind of story that I imagined.
>After, I accepted my editor's "it's better if the main character has some sort of special power afterall" suggestion, and thus "ONE FOR ALL " was born, and also all that relations with All Might, thus the story unfolds.
Middle is a bunch of conceptual stuff for the pre-serialization Izuku's character setting.
Squiggly lines are hard to make out for some of them so I'm going to skip these.
Stuff like tools he carries (bandages, bandaids, disinfectants etc).
Basically Batman. Honestly though I wouldn't mind reading a story about this Izuku.
>Next Volume a bunch of small animals Aizawa Sensei's back will emmerge from Aizawa Sensei's back. Look forward to that.
A fully quirkless hero in training should be added to the cast.
I also want Sacred Tears to make an appearance in 1-B. No way something like that should be relegated to the funny pages so easily.
>I changed the entire concept of the manga because an editor told me to be more generic
B-but Barrage was editor written! M-my Hero Academia is Kohei's baby!
Holy fuck I'm messing this up. I'm going to try again.
>Next Volume a bunch of small animals will emerge from Aizawa Sensei's back. Look forward to that.
Also there is no 13th page. I fucked up again.
I like the idea of quirckless hero, but at the same time I can't imagine how this could even work without a propper mentor, thing that All Might isn't.
Deku would be lame if he couldn't pull a Batman or Iron Man, and if he could, this would be too much Gary Stu for a kid.
Every single Horikoshi series has been editor written to some extent. We know for a fact that he was controlled by editors on Oumagadoki Zoo, and now we know that the same is true of MHA. I would be amazed if Barrage wasn't changed in the same ways.
It's not unusual. Authors without popular series always get bullied by editors. Shanks only lost his arm in the first chapter of One Piece because an editor told Oda the chapter was boring, and we know that early Bleach was due to an editor retooling Kubo's original concept.
Side character funtime chapter when
I usually don't find shit like this funny, but this always cracks me up
If he really was a quirkless hero, then this comic would be so much more boring
Not just because the MC not doing any awesome feats, but because everyone elses power would have to be toned down to accommodate
Jirou best girl when>>133067983
I might be wrong, but think this is a case of subject confusion. Japanese can leave the subject of a sentence ambiguous, meaning a translator sometimes has to guess. Viz assumed Stain was talking about himself when he was actually talking about heroism in general.
See also this week's chapter when translators couldn't decide if it was Deku or All Might talking about taking one for step.
You know, there's this thing called, what was it again? Yeah, I think it starts with a g, can't quite remember though, they say you can get access to a virtually infinite amount of information with it. How cool is that?
It's a blood pressure meter
Sphygmomanometer. They measure blood pressure by raising the air pressure around your arm until it balances the pressure from your blood.
From Greek "Sphygmos" meaning "pulse" and "manometer" meaning "pressure measurer".
Another example of Viz fucking up, for similar reasons. They misinterpreted the line and reversed the pronouns, leading to something nonsensical.
>Everyone is giving it their all apart from you.
>That said, I haven't hurt you at all.
>So abandon your clearly effective strategy and come at me!
When it should be:
>Everyone is giving it their all apart from you.
>You haven't got a single hit in.
>If you want to win, give it everything and come at me!
This is one of those rare times I'm glad about an editor's suggestion. The One Shot was kinda like that, and it sorta sounds interesting to have a hero without powers up against heroes with, but it would've gotten annoying. The alternative has also been great because of the nature of his power and what it means for the person who gave it to him.
I had the English volume 1 of BnHA for a little while, but the RIDICULOUSLY MASSIVE image sizes were too much (in a .zip, I think it was about 230mb). Just ran it through photoshop to put all the images in reasonable sizes, connected a page that hadn't been joined, and added color pages/two extra bits that weren't in the viz release. Here's Boku no Hero Academia volume 1:
Yes, the interference of the editors is inevitable in any show (after all, the series needs to sell), but Horikoshi seems to be having fun in MHA (like he said he would do in the commentary of the first volume).
>Shanks only lost his arm in the first chapter of One Piece because an editor told Oda the chapter was boring
I didn't know that!
>B-but Oda plans everything since he was 10 years old.
>the RIDICULOUSLY MASSIVE image sizes were too much
They really were. Every single page was over a MB.
>Anime Original Soul Eater Style boys.
Be ready for Bones.
What are you talking about? Bakugou is actually pretty damn unique.
Usually characters like him can't back up their boasting, are consumed with darkness, or are tsundere to some degree.
IT would have the Index problem where everyone would have to turn into retards in order to actually be beaten by Midoriya
That said, his first fight with Bakugou was hype, but he only 'won' that one because he knew Bakugou inside and out.
Is there an end to your sweeping generalizations?
I never wanted an anime in the first place, let alone BONES. I dunno, I don't care much for anime at all.
At least BONES *can* be good, before it all goes to Hell.
WSJ seires don't need to sell to get S2s. They only need to make the manga sales better. SnS sales were not very good but the manga sales skyrocketed, it's very likely that it'll get a S2, Bakuman was like that as well and BNHA is not an exception.
At least you guys didn't get Toei like World Trigger did.
The key art is definitely Umakoshi's art and the original leak said:
>Kenji Nagasaki (Gundam Build Fighters S1, Classroom Crisis)
>Umakoshi (Casshern Sins, Heartcatch Precure)
It's pretty much all confirmed.
Part of the fun of Touma's fights against Magic is seeing what the fatal error of spells are. The Seven Deadly Sins reversal in NT10 was one of his best, and he didn't even need IB.
Fuck you niggers complaining about Bones. You fuckers should be thankful. At least you unthankful fucks didn't get Studio Pierrot to adapt your series like Tokyo Ghoul. I'm suffering because while one of my favorite series got a butchered mess and you fucks are complaining about a good Studio.
Fuck you guys.
>tfw i just watch anime for
the fight scenes
Maybe when they have ten different writers writing Saitama, and none of them can agree on how strong he actually is, and one has him job to Blast or something, sure.
Literally a few weeks ago with Kekkai Sensen. The whole extended last episode was so good, even if we had to wait a stupid amount of time for it.
This will only be true when WSJ replaces both the writer and the artist of MHA, resets the universe and forces all WSJ properties to have one shared world despite that not making any sense.
The problem with capeshit is that it's literally fanfiction of decades old characters and that's it's written by idiots managed by morons.
Damn, if this doesn't turn out to be a "BUY THE MANGA" anime, this is gonna be awesome.
FUCK THE HATERS.
I'm far from fluent, but it's true that Japanese has a totally different concept of subjects.
To steal an example: 「今日は忙しい」could be translated as "today is busy" if you mistook "today" as the subject, but it actually means “As for today, [I, he, she, we, they] is/are busy.” In context it could mean "I'm busy today."
>Bones known for anime original endings
>Manga definitely has potential for decent filler
I REALLY doubt that this series will have an original ending. WSJ is setting this up to be one of their big guns for the future since AssClass seem to be ending soon and it can't rely on OP alone so it make no sense for this series to have an original ending. It will most likely get treated the same way SnS and Haikyuu deal with their anime, with absolutely 0 fillers.
This is the first time Bones is handling a WSJ series so I doubt they would go with the original ending, hell I think WSJ won't even give them the option even if the staff wanted too. Shokugeki no Soma ended in mid arc for crying out loud.
At worst case this will be the same situation as Noragami where it get an filler arc instead of an actual ending so anime-only fans won't fell blue balls like SnS anime fans felt.
This is going to be the next Soul Eater isn't?
Will we get any side-character exams this week? I want to how mature Iida manages.
I'm not Sherlock Holmes, but I think that's Invisible Girl under there and that she's headbutting him for some reason.
WT anime doesn't look the best but ehat you faggots don't understand is that WT OP and so on air at a time kids are watching, kids don't sperg out abou muh QUALITY because they watch things for fun and if they're interesting.
World Trigger anime is fairly succesful, gave a huge manga boost and a mobile game that's doing lots of money. Also a Vita game.
Hell Toei is making an entire filler season to give the manga a heads up.
24 ep adaptations are only good for BD sales and a short burst of merchandising sales, long running adaptations is what maked this kind of manga/anime famous since they get exported and so on.
Do they look worse than 24 ep adaptations? Yes of course.
Do they generate less money? No, quite the opposite
>mfw of all the smiles Deku protects, his own won't be one of them
Im fine with BONES, but as most of us, Im afraid of anime original ending and I am kinda worried because they never adapted a WSJ series before so I wonder how they will go with it.
Anyways, Im happy with the studio. Now we need staff and cast.
Nothing, I'm actually hoping they do some good filler instead of shitting up an original ending.
Meh, I guess this isn't the worst choice.
If the rest of the spoilers are on point, the anime has great potential*.
*Provided we don't get BONE'd
/a/ is eternally cursed with teenage kids who think going mainstream and popular makes it turn to shit.
This board is full of people who thinks liking popular shit makes them a sheep.
When in fact, that very attitude is abandonment of thought, and the exact definition of being a "sheep". Just pertains to a different set of peers, or "herd".
BONES should have make
medaka box S3first
Nope. They are listed as childhood friends but after the age of 5 Bakugou start bullying him till they graduated midle school and even now he is hostile towards him. Plus, Izuku has admitted in 2-3 chapters he "hates his guts" (although the translation from ViZ was different so I am not sure about this part). Anyways, my point is they are not friends with the attitude they have towards each other but they can work on it. And the only thing that buffles me about them is Izuku still calling him "Kacchan" which is pretty weird as Bakugou only calls him Deku because of the meaning he gave the nickname.
