I never got why people are mad about this.
When I read Mx0 I didn't know about it's reputation and I just read it as mediocre series that was sort of entertaining. It was a generic shounen battle manga with the same joke repeated indefinitely.
To be honest I think it deserved to be cancelled. It was an okay read, but it was going nowhere and nothing really going for it.
