It's not like LN publishers looking for a studio to animate their product promo is some secret arrangement behind the curtain. Every studio must be aware that these 2 nearly identical series were looking to be adapted.

Yet despite knowing this, they both chose to schedule themselves to air in the same season and function as direct competition to one another. It's bewildering. On their own they each could've been a solid 4-6k seller, but with them airing together they'll split the sales and probably end up sub2k each.
