It's probably important to realize that Sawa (the main chick, her name's not "Kite") isn't actually this total god-tier action hero assassin like the previews make her out to be. A lot of her kills rely on deception and disguise, although she has some training to compensate. If she survives actual resistance by a competent enemy it's really just a matter of luck. Also, a large part of her conditioning by Kanie and Akai was done with the purpose of preventing her from even considering turning a gun or a knife on either of them. She basically can't even comprehend shooting them until she's pushed to her absolute limit.

tldr; she's what would result if basement-dwelling fedora-tippers had guns and money.

I liked the sequel.

Atmosphere.

I can't describe it fully but it has an atmosphere you don't find in many anime. That kind of comforting numbness of watching someone who only knows how to kill. They have nothing else in their life, no attachments to possessions or loved ones. They don't really fit in with normal society and they don't usually live long enough to be depressed about that fact.
