The benefits of the god themselves, as well as the size of said god's familia. Why join an established guild in an MMO when you could join a medium-large one so you can get easy groups? If you agree with that sort of thinking then you might pick Short Shorts familia, or something similarly large, but if you're the type that prefers starting a guild from scratch then you might pick a god like Hestia. Beyond that, as I said, it comes down to the god's actual skills, like how Hephaestus is a legendary smith, so she can make amazing weapons.
