Leo is absolutely Based. This dude made more fuckin progress than any other MCs combined this season. No fuckin drama but just a sweet and comfy hug while watching Twins. Based fuckin Bones, fuck even Twins the movie added layer together characters. Matsumoto Rie truly knows how to effectively use everything to her advantage. Just tried it myself. Starting the reverse roll at any speed is a little tricky. Also, the rolling covers more distance than you'd expect from watching at Aligura, so you'd need a long surface.

I don't even think it is the budget, I think it is excellent directing and excellent staff.
Many of those intense, blood pumping moments have frames that don't really look "well drawn", but the sense of movement and cinematic timing is really nice.
Look at the not-chess for example, There were barely any sakuga moments there, but it still managed to show how fucking intense klaus is.

I think I'd rather they did the mushroom chapter than the fighting ring chapter since we already had a "Klaus is so cool" episode and those tended to be the chapters I skimmed through on rereads of the manga anyway, although I'll miss some of the Zapp stuff and little nuggets of character interaction. I might've preferred the butler chapter but I think it would take too much of a budget to do justice to the car scene, maybe if this winds up being successful and recouping enough of the budget they can release a good OVA for it or put it in season 2. I'm kind of glad the next episode isn't going to have a big action scene. But if there's one story from volume 4 that I wish they'd adapt instead it would be the KK one for sure, she needs more screentime and it was super cute and short so it would leave them ample time to put in all their anime original stuff instead of squeezing it into other episodes which already have so much going on.

For many late night series, BDs are a pretty good indicator of how popular it is. Stuff like Log Horizon or Rinne are NHK shows that don't rely on that, TV ratings would be a better indicator for those. Then there's any Sunrise mecha show in which merchandise plays a big role.

However, I want this to be a commercial sucess for the director after the commercial failure that was Kyousougiga and the fact she immediately joined BONES and got to do direct a series.
