I was re-reading the next fight scene and this came up

People on /a/ led me to believe Shirou had mind's eye before he trained, as a passive ability. But according to this, Shirou wouldn't have that unless he had traced kansyou/bakuya out to gain archer's training knowledge.

All those people who complained that ufotable messed up properly conveying Shirou's mind's eye true skill were wrong because he never had it.

I wouldn't say that the fights in Stay Night are more flashy but they're missing the "strategic" elements from some of the fights. (Fate Zero Ep 5) Archer vs Berserker wasn't any less flashy than the stuff from Stay Night but so far there's nothing like (Fate Zero Ep4) Saber vs Lancer or (Fate Zero Ep 7+8) Kiritsugu vs Kayneth.
