The drama ensues and 8man gets cornered by his own club mates.
Meanwhile, it's almost time for
the fire to rise
vol 8 ends with episode 5. So 4 episodes for vol 9 and another 4 for vol 10? or you would like them to take it slowly and end it at vol 9? I prefer they end it at vol 9 since it ends with maximum healing.
Excuse me for asking this, but I'm having a little bit of trouble keeping up with the story, even through the LNs.
8man says that what he does is not self sacrifice, because he doesn't let the opinion of those around him have any effect on him.
Still, from a while now, it seems that a lot of his decisions are coming from a more emotive standpoint, just not from his.
He let himself e swayed by the desire of Hayama's group to stay the same.
Is that the reason he couldn't put his ideals into word for Hayama? Because he's not sure what his ideals are anymore?
Hayato really doesn't know how to be a bro
shit bromance, fujoshi has shit taste pushing that ship.
I watched a young high school couple, maybe 17 or 18 years old, hop out of their car and walk into a cafe earlier today holding hands while laughing and smiling. The dude was an average looking nice guy type and the girl was legit cute. He grabbed the door for her and that was the last I saw. Living the dream.
I kind of laugh at slice of life anime because I say to myself "this shit doesn't happen in real life" but then I see something like this today, as rare as that might be, and think to myself that I might just be letting my own past experience (or lack thereof) cloud my ideas of what could have been possible.
I want to see the race animated so badly.
No, he knows what his ideals are. He just has a difficult time trying to balance the desires of others and their conflicting emotional states WITH the problem at hand and the solution required to fix it.
Majority of cases that come to the service club, requires some form of confrontation with the person who requested it and stripping them down to the bare-bones, so that they understand their critical personal flaws and grow into a better person from there on.
The problem is, in high school, maturity is expensive--and no one wants to be that guy who's the dick, an honest man, but a dick nonetheless. Worse, someone HAS to do it.
The confession to Ebina, followed by that DISTINCT pause, and then the rejection, was the easiest way to resolve the conflicting emotional states walk away with everything still working out okay.
Yukinon got pissed at him, cause she assumed he wanted everything to remain the same. He didn't, but he saw no way out--of the problem given to him to solve, other than being the fall guy in a confession that was going to destroy Hayama's clique.
It's why after the fact, when Ebina goes to meet Hikigaya on the roof, she admits that the two of them are actually perfect for each other--as they're both aware of the consequences of high school life and what maturity actually entails. But because she still has some time left in high school, she'd like to be a hypocrite just a little while longer, and enjoy the low hanging fruit while she can.
It's also why, immediately after, Hikigaya admits that he too is the biggest liar/hypocrite of them all. In a way, it is a self-reflection that he's more ready for the real world than others around him, and that to play ball with their emotional states, sometimes he has to be the hypocrite to get things done.
Hypocrisy isn't wrong when it's the only available option. Hypocrisy IS wrong, when there are other options, but the route is taken out of convenience and callousness.
>“It’s because I realized that there wasn’t anything that I could do that I started wanting to have something that you and nee-san didn’t have… I thought that if I had that, then I can save something.”
What's something that both 8man and Haruno don't have? What exactly is she trying to save?
Am I the only one that loves the Hayama/Hachiman confrontations. Between this line from ep 2, and they snapping at each other, it's just so cool.
Two very different people, with incredibly different sets of skill, ideals and social circles, just arguing. It feels like they hate each other, but also need to balance each other out.
I don't know the number, but I'm among them.
You're going to enjoy the last four or so episodes, then. Especially the final confrontation during the marathon.
Ten bucks says the "I'm in love" scene is actually translated properly and not a direct confession.
It's crazy to think about how different 8man and Yukino are. It started with this undertone that she was mature and he had to rise to her level, but it seems more and more obvious that she's the one bound by norms, unable to deviated from either the path her mother set to her, or the one her sister left behind.
She can't bring herself to throw that confort away. Hachiman on the other hand, wouldn't hesitate to do it, if he had to. People say that Yukinon didn't really have a lot of development, but I think it was very subtlety
The problem with Commie's translation of 'suki' was that her confession came across as too direct, which is why we had a bunch of idiots asking why Hachiman completely ignored it.
Why does everyone think Iroha is like Bane, though?
I get it for all the other characters. Hachiman's self sacrificing, Haruno's sadistic, Hayama holds a facade. But how exactly does Iroha have any of Bane's qualities?
>tte iu ka
>anno onna nan desu ka
>senpai no kanojo san to ka
>demo futari irun janai desuka
>dou iu tsunagari desu ka
If Hikigaya went and became a profiling agent for the government, he'd fucking excel. I mean, if you consider the anime/manga/ln. He just sits in class all day and observes people, understands what makes them tick and figures out how to solve their problems in the most efficient way possible.
Then in the services club, this is more of the same.
Any analyst role that requires understanding a human being, he'd excel in.
who /yumiko/ here?
Iroha wears a mask the entire time to everyone, only exceptions are Hayama and 8man.
She's sly and likes to plan her actions ahead of time using manipulative methods and deception, which makes some anons believe that she will eventually break 8man.
Aside from that, it's just memes about her getting into the club and crashing it, and so on.
Looks like Crunchyroll went with a translation where it's obviously referring to the club.
Well, you should probably just read it yourself to find out who wins.
But what makes the scene so great is that Hayama and Hachiman's tense relationship comes to a boiling point during the race. Their interaction is refreshingly honest, for once.
He'll get his revenge soon though
Volume 10 is all about Hayato cucking him with Yukinoshita, and then about how he might've cucked Yukinoshita with Haruno
Basically, he becomes cuck master
Is this supposed to be a job interview? To be honest, Kodaka would have a lesser chance of succeeding than Tomoko. At least Tomoko would respond crudely. Kodaka would keep saying that he didn't quite catch that.
>autists projecting onto 8man
Bruh the guy gets hilariously bad scores in math classes. 8mans a wanna be holden Caufield and a social outcast who will have his day. But he's no prodigal genius. Esp when it comes to non humanities courses.
There's more, but I have no idea what's going on.
>tfw HS used "Irohas" instead of "Irohasu"
I'm being triggered again.
Atleast they used "Senpai~"...
She is highly calculative and everything done so far are probably all plan out.
Hayama probably saw through her fake confession and knew she was only using him.
Remember her line where she said something like "making others people drop her guard around her because she is heartbroken", she is doing that right now.
Also she kept her date receipt to file it under the school budget.
Umm, I just realized something
In Vol. 10
we find out that Yukinon might be obligated to marry Hayama. We also find out that Hayama won't refuse it because it's what's expected of him.
Yukinon won't stand up against her family.
I wonder if 8man will actually go into the whole family deal to try and help her. His relationship with Hayama seems to be at a boiling point, so I wonder what would happen if he ended up interfering with their family matters.
Bill gates is not smart in the sense of books you tard, he is not a steve wozniak, if anything he more like steve jobs. The guy has such a mastery interacting with humans, that he would remember your name from one night and and two years down the line, come up and talk to you, as if he was your best friend. that the reason why he is so successful.
This was so cute for some reason
Why the fuck is Hikky even listening to Haruno he knew it was a bad fucking idea. What the fuck can Haruno even do it him? Besides poking fun at him. He could have just stayed home and turned off his cell.
>Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973 and was a National Merit Scholar. He scored 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT and enrolled at Harvard College in the autumn of 1973. While at Harvard, he met Steve Ballmer, who would later succeed Gates as CEO of Microsoft.
>In his sophomore year, Gates devised an algorithm for pancake sorting as a solution to one of a series of unsolved problems presented in a combinatorics class by Harry Lewis, one of his professors. Gates's solution held the record as the fastest version for over thirty years; its successor is faster by only one percent. His solution was later formalized in a published paper in collaboration with Harvard computer scientist Christos Papadimitriou.
Why is 8man always on the couch I found it creepy he was just sitting there in the dark. Does even have a bed room?
He wants to find out the truth about Haruna, so he decides to humor her whims every once in a while.
Just look at how he tries to analyze her at the end, and how it looks like she was completely prepared for it.
They're playing mind game with each other THat's also why he gets pissed at Hayama. Because he did something he didn't account for.
>Using outdated Heath Ledger Joker and not Jared Leto Joker
So Yukinoshita is totally bullshitting when she says what Haruno told her didn't effect her decision to run for president right? And what the hell did Haruno want with the whole situation anyway? I take it she just likes watching 8man, but did she know Yukino and Yui were going to be there?
The plot must be advanced my friend.
that still doesn't discredit my point, is that he has a high mastery of interacting with human beings, without steve jobs, do you really think wozniak could have successfully started apple?
Could you fuck off with these memes please?
>What the fuck can Haruno even do it him?
>>“If you don’t show up, I’ll drop by your house and drag you along, okay!”
>>What the, were you a childhood friend? On top of that, you even knew where I live? That’s scary.
>turned off his cell.
She had Komachi's number.
Haruno didn't know why Hayama was so insistent on having Hachiman come on the double date with him, so Haruno tailed them to try and find out. Once she realised what Hayama's plan was, she used it to her advantage to antagonize Yukino some more and to give Hayama shit for trying to be like Hachiman.
>implying 8man won't cuck every single one of the friends in Hayamas group away from him.
>Implying he won't get cleated in the face during a soccer match
>Implying the end of volume 11 won't be Hayato challenging 8man for Yukino's love.
>Implying that when they meet. Hayama won't pull out a single 10 yen coin.
>Heads. I win. Tails. You win.
>Implying hachiman won't be devastated when his final showdown is a coin flip
>You want to leave that to chance, you bastard!?
>8man runs off too shocked to even rub in Hayamas face
>Hayato picks the coin off the ground
>double sided tails
>You make your own luck.
>mfw Hayama out 8mans 8man.
Just realized Yukino should have been rachel in the memepic because two face and batman have a little cuck fight over rachel before she gets vaporized.
Can someone translate this I am curious what they are saying?
THe best thing about it was how Hachiman himself was actully super chill about it. He got some closure, and he was humoring them.
Hayama then decided to act like the great hero defending poor 8man and got shat on by both 8man himself and Haruno
>why is Hikigaya listening to Haruno
1. She's got connections
2. They run deep
3. She's actually hot
4. She's LIKE HIM
5. She might like him
6. He can be himself with her without having other people act like fucktards
It's a 50/50 split between win and lose. Might as well.
The gradients on the eyes of the characters fuck with my brain, Ebina looks like a total yandere in this shot
never once did i say he didn't know his shit, i just stated that he was smart because of his interaction with human beings, also he is manipulative as fuck, that why one of the hedge fund managers called him out on it, when he asked him to join his charity.
>So Yukinoshita is totally bullshitting when she says what Haruno told her didn't effect her decision to run for president right?
Most likely not. The LN haven't revealed what's her true reason yet.
>After she said that, Yukinoshita adjusted the collars of her coat and directly faced me.
>“It’s because I realized that there wasn’t anything that I could do that I started wanting to have something that you and nee-san didn’t have… I thought that if I had that, then I can save something.”
>Just what exactly was it that she needed and what was it that she could save? I wanted to fill in those lacking words so I asked her.
>However, Yukinoshita wouldn’t tell me.
>“…Who knows? What could it be, I wonder?”
>Yukinoshita’s only response was a girlish smile as if she was testing me.
>Perhaps the answer to that question was her “reason”.
>Why did Yukinoshita Yukino try to become a candidate during that student council election?
>Or possibly, what was it that she had yet to talk about or that I didn’t try to ask about?
Yep. Hayama's mistake was misunderstanding why Hachiman does what he does. Makes one wonder why Hayama assumed it was a cry for help.
No, she really does find him interested. Pay attention to when Haruno uses her scary cold tone of voice and when she talks sweetly to him. She has expectations for Hachiman to follow along with her plans, which is why she constantly leads him on about her and Yukino's relationship.
Volume 11 can't come fast enough. We'll never get anywhere in our discussions until we find out what Hachiman's misunderstanding about Yukino is, and what happened between her, her sister and Hayama in the past actually was.
well psychology was on to something when they say girls are pretty unstable, it the reason shit been going to hell with the whole notion of feminism. Without a strong man to keep a women in check, it leads to overall unhappiness. problem is, there is only a few strong men in the world.
She really does find him interesting*
Its what all underachieving betas do when they make their daily mental gymnastics about how great they could be. And then they underachieve so hard they forget to check their own fucking facts.
This part unsettled the shit outta me
If this thing ends with the NTR ending I'll be very pissed off.
>Yukinon wants something neither 8man and her sister have to save "something"
>She wants to become a woman better than her sister so Hayama can stop feeling obligated to marry her, and actually do it because he likes her.
>She wants her and Hayama's marriage to be genuine
>The entire series was a set up to show that the first possible love interest is just using to main character to make herself a better person, so she can go and marry the mega popular handsome hot pretty boy
>My ROMCOM was a wrong as I expected.
The most recent episode finished off at Volume 8 Chapter 6. I would recommend re-reading all of Volume 8, because a lot of Hachiman's inner monologues help fill in the blanks people here are often confused about.
Iroha is pretty strong considering how everyone hate her and got bullied into an unwanted position.
I think she is the most matured of them all. Already has her own future all plan out.
Eh I think it's more to do with people not knowing much about his history, they look at the fact that he dropped out of Harvard and makes the conclusion that he was too dumb for it when it was actually the complete opposite.
She just loves 8man and doesn't want him to suffer by being the one to give a bad campaign speech. She's essentially trying to solve the problem by taking all of the harm onto herself the same as Hachiman does. Hachiman doesn't understand this at all because his great observational skills are almost always wrong.
Yukino even makes a statement to him at some point along the lines of 'I thought you would understand this...'
Yukino is coming to understand Hachiman's point of view. You'll see this again in volume 9 when she stands with Hachiman as a villain to resolve the problem with the council meetings.
Why would that be NTR? Yukino has been a terrible match for 8man from the beginning and there's absolutely nothing that sells them as love interests. Not everything has to revolve around 8man's dick just because he's the MC. He's allowed to have female acquaintances that aren't automatically harem members by association, and there's nothing wrong with them getting together with someone else.
hey guys this is a great show am i right?
yui is my fav girl
>When I turned around, Isshiki placed her left hand to her cheek and showed a sweet and poppy smile. “I’m going to marry a publishing editor.”
>When I turned around, her eyes sparkled and as if to talk in secret, she placed her hand to her mouth and whispered near my ears. “Senpai, I recommend becoming an editor.”
Best girl as usual.
>Haruno using seduction techniques to manipulate her own sister
Truly a force to be reckoned with.
I am trying to like her character, but so far her is voice annoying and both her so called personality's to be horrible. She is going to have a redeeming factor soon right?
Threadly reminder that some people still deny that Iroha is aiming for 8man.
I'm guessing you didn't read the LN.
She will be the one to bring back the romcom and slice of life to this series on the next arc, on top of that she'll an internal change in 8man about how he sees her. Truly a blessing from the gods.
Just be patient, she's the best girl for good reasons.
Her personality is supposed to be horrible. 8man rate her as the worst human being outside of him in his monologue.
She is basically a female Hachiman with cute looks.
I'd be so pissed. I don't even like this harem shit, but 8man/Yukino seemed like the route it was going to take.
To have the most popular female lead (Not waifu war shit, she was voted the top female character in japan) end up with the handsome perfect pretty boy "rival" would be a little bit too cruel.
I wonder if he'd risk pissing off his fanbase that much.
>Not everything has to revolve around 8man's dick just because he's the MC.
Why not? He's already surrounded by a bunch of cute girls of varying ages who as a majority have a crush on him despite have nearly null redeeming qualities, a practically asexual alpha that wants to be like him, a trap, and the physically obvious loser sidekick that will never threaten his harem.
>Hachiman x Yui
Lets be real here, anon. Refusing to face reality is only going to make it harder when the time comes.
Just got off the phone with watari and he told me
8man x Komachi (Oreimo author was a pussy, he told me)
Yui x Suffering
Iroha x Everyone else (gotta milk that doujin money)
Yukino an heros and Haruno gets murdered by Yui for cucking Hayama away from Yukinoshita.
You heard it here folks.
Either Hachiman x Yukino or the NTR route: Hayato x Yukino
Volume 11 seems to be going full on into the romantic triangle route, with 8man clearly starting to have feelings for Yukino in Vol.10.
So is Hayato full of shit when he says he isn't in love.
So far there's one girl with actual romantic interest in him, another that flirts playfully but draws a clear line and the rest that have shown absolutely no interest in him.
At this stage he's had more romantic development with the trap that Yukino.
How to insult the entire fanbase is just one post, featuring f/a/ggot-kun.
>When I looked around the classroom, Isshiki was just about to eat lunch with several friends in the back of the classroom near the window… Looks like I’ll have to ask someone to call her for me. No problem, no problem, I did do all that practice after all… Hachiman, do your best! (VA: Totsuka Saika). Alright, I can do it
I'm sorry, but did the Yui already lose? Oh, that's right. The LN isn't even over yet. In fact, it's only halftime. Does not having the lead at halftime count as a loss? Is that what you're saying? Because if you're saying that I can assure you that you're wrong. Why would you make this topic when the game is still on? Yui is still playing right now and she has been the best girl in the Yaharibowl for how many years now? She's revaling with one of the worst girls in the whole medium who just happens to have a lead because she's feeding off the energy of being favored by the editor. But you know what? She still fucking sucks. Yui is one of the best fucking Characters in the Japanese literature, she went 12 episodes last year and would of won the Yaharibowl if the director didn't choke. Maybe you should shut the fuck up before you make retarded topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when the Yui wins and someone bumps this topic. Are you a fucking drunk? Are you retarded? Are you autistic? You are a fucking idiot and you should never make a topic on this board again and I'm fucking serious. I almost have a feeling you're the only guy making all these anti-Yui topics because you're a faggot hater who doesn't like the girl because she’s good. Fuck you, be good at something in YOUR life and then maybe try to troll these fucking best girls on the board, like I give a fuck. It's so easy to spot out your threads now, you're a retard. Always doing stupid shit like this. Why don't you try to be a good poster? Just for once? For once in your fucking life try not to make a topic like this. That's just you, you're always right at getting it wrong. Fuck you. You are nothing.
wins the iroha request, but yukinon wins 8man's request. If 8man helps clears yukinoshita's request from disneyland he wins. If yukinoshita clears 8man's genuine request, then so on.
See how irrelevant the others are going to be once we go in full yukinoshita plot?
he's the same as Hachiman - he hates himself so much that the notion of 'love' isn't something he can understand. But Hayama reaffirms that belief about himself while Hachiman can be seen as trying to free himself of it.
why the fuck would 8man end with any girl?
Everybody here is the typical shit "Muh waifu>Your waifu", but seriously though, why do you guys think that 8man will actually end in a relationship with any of the girls in the story?
I could see still hayama having hate sex with hachi because of how much he hates himself.
>gets cucked by Hayama
>best mans the wedding between Hayama and the love of his life
>when the two kiss the image will be imprinted into his mind until he hikes into a mountain a month later with no backpack.
>nobody really tries to look for his body
>being Hikigaya is suffering
Honestly I could see Hayama more prone to killing himself then 8man. He is always unhappy and never gets to do what he wants always keeping up a fake smile. Believe me eats at you if you keep it up.
Jesus Christ, Hayato what the fuck. Thought he was just trying to get Hikki and Orimoto together.
THis is what makes this post >>124508369 so unnerving.
What if we missed the point, and while the story was always about 8man/Yukino, it was not truly a RomCom. Hell, this sure as hell isn't a comedy, why would it be a romance.
I have a feeling we might end up with a shitload of curve balls by the time this is over. EIther 8man mans up, or the entire series was about a dude helpingg people while not achievieving any kind of happiness.
In episode 4, Haruno explicitly states that Hikigaya is reading through her every move, like she had evil intentions.
Yeah, she was prepared for it, but she also liked him for it. Hikigaya has seen through the ploy, it's why he wants to be the fall guy in the end. It's his way out of the "closed room murder" that Haruno is setting up. It's his
Incidentally, he sees through Hayato too, and amusingly, Haruno leaves stating "it's become boring now," not because it's actually boring. But that Hayato is there, he's too simple to read through, and she didn't feel like sticking around.
I'm certain she'd stayed longer if only Hikigaya was there.
Lastly, Hikigaya delivers some pretty scathing remarks to Hayato too when Hayato acted in the interest of Hikigaya. While I found the idea and his attempt touching, his delivery was bad and his end game (Hayato's) was atrocious.
Hayato fucked up by taking the pity route, the "I'm above you, haha--you bitches are so funny," route.
Eat a lime you cuck, a Yui end is far more likely.
I hope he doesn't do it. Maybe Haruno and 8man fucked like animals after the doughnut shop scene but life is important.
I can't feel sorry for Yui, not only have her confessions failed, she really cannot get into 8man's mentality.
Now she's hardly even relevant and Iroha has pretty much taken her place AND is actually doing a much better job.
>why is she mad at him?
Its fucking perfect
>Eat a lime you cuck, a Yui end is far more likely
She just said good bye to her relevancy in this episode.
She admitted to it, in her contextual statements to Hikigaya in front of Hayato.
"...like she has evil intentions." It was very subtle, but the inflection of her tone was just enough to pick up on it. She wants him badly, but social standing and other structural "issues" and also general societal laws, are preventing.
It's funny, I'm starting to see Umineko parallels between hikigaya and haruno. Not as much the denial of magic between Battler and Beatrice, but the tsun-tsun dere-dere chemistry they were building.
I'm digging it.
Man, I got hooked to this series because of the great characters, but I sure as fuck hope 8man mans up and at least gets into a romantic mindset in Vol 11.
To have him simply hand Yukino over to Hayama without even putting up a fight would be ridiculous.
Well, Volume 9 is intended to be much calmer in nature and alleviate some of the tension caused by the drama of Volume 8. BRAINSTORMING should be a nice bit of comedic relief, and we still have Destinyland to stir up the shippers. And, of course, there's the
genuinescene coming up.
It's fairly tame in comparison to past resolutions, but wouldn't you get tired of drama after more or less 2 entire volumes' worth?
Don't worry, anon. SYNERGY, COLLABORATION and WIN-WIN will save the day.
Haruno is making fun of Hikigaya - he has no background of the circumstances of their family and assumes Haruno is just being a slightly overbearing sibling. Haruno is actually trying to help Yukino - Hachiman completely misreads what is going on.
>Yukino confesses to 8man on the school roof
>Just as she's about to finish, 8man holds up a hand
>"Sorry Yukinoshita, but my heart belongs to someone else, a person I've watched since the very beginning"
>Yumiko appears at the doorway and embraces 8man romantically
>They leave together with Yukino standing frozen in shock
True story. Screenshot this post.
I think if I had to drink for each time I saw the word cuck or something about batman I would die a hundred times over from intoxication. Seriously people find more creative ways to do things its getting stale.
I actually expect most of those twists to be true (especially the "Yukino wanted to be better than her sister so Hayama would genuinely like her, instead of feeling abligated to), but I don't think the end will be Hayama/Yukino.
I think Yukino will realize how selfish her desires were from the get-go, and how what she's doing is not actually for herself or Hayama, but to fulfill some twisted desire to overcome her sister.
And then 8man wins the Yukino bowl
Only for the hate sex but I think they would be a terrible couple
It's hard to be depressed when you've got a loyal side girl (Miura for Hayato) to fall back on and get that sexual healing. Yes the walls Hayama puts up are cooler looking but are they necessarily as tested or beaten as 8man's?
He hasn't tasted social suffering for a long long time.
In the words of best girl,
Victory has made you weak.
>Hayama probably saw through her fake confession and knew she was only using him.
I never thought of it that way before
But it's not like OreGairu is a romcom that aspires to do grand things. So far, all the resolutions have been fairly mundane things which only have significance in the context of Hachiman's character growth.
The closest comparison I can think of is Hyouka, which was similarly tame in its execution of things.
>They leave together with Yukino standing frozen in shock
Holy shit this would be apocalyptic NTR
Don't forget that she was also trained by the League of Shadows.
>Does Haruno have any solid reasons for disliking Hayama
It's kinda like Hayama betraying Yukino when they where younger.
>everyone singing "hayama and yukino sitting in a tree"
>Hayama going "I don't even know her"
And now, Hayama is sensitive about breaking friendships and getting pissed at people saying him and Yukino having a thing. Atleast that is what I gathered from vol10.
>Yukino liked Hayama
>He likes Haruno
>Yukino wanted to be more like Haruno
>Hayama stopped caring because he'll have to marry Yukino either way
>Yukino wanted to be like her sister so she could win Hayama over
>She met Hachiman
>Her motivations changed and stopped wanting to mirror her sister for Hayama
>She is still stuck with having to marry him either way
>Haruno met Hachiman and thinks he's the reaosn for the shift in Yukino's actions
>Hayama is still a huge faggot and will marry Yukino just to fulfill his social obligations
>Haruno wants 8man to save her
>Yukino wants 8man to save her
>8man wants to save her, but feels like he shouldn't pry into her business.
It's funny. The villain is cheesy and overblown and the dialogue reads like ESL chuuni fanfiction. Everything about it is pure unintentional comedy in much the same way that something like Black Bullet is.
Except, Hikigaya points out that he too has a sister and then realizes what's going on.
The evil intentions statements is two fold. At first it was an assumption that Haruno is screwing WITH Yukinoshita. But Haruno baits Hikigaya, and he does bite.
But realizes a second later, as she checkmates him, her actual intentions due to having a younger sister of his own.
Yeah, she did poke fun at him--but she left stating it was boring because Hikigaya also realized her intentions. I think it's facile to assume that Hikigaya misreads the situation. Considering that the LN has made him the GO TO guy to getting shit done.
It's one thing to not understand, it's another to claim that it's been misread.
I guess but I seeing people over use it is like seeing someone use the same joke and expect the same reaction. But I guess if the people still posting it gets a kick out of it then so be it.
Hayama and Yukino were set up to have that amazing childhood friends relationship you see in novels and anime.
He liked Haruno and that gave her a huge sister complex, and made her feel worthless.
She only started to finally move away from it after she met 8man. It's similar to how 8man's heartbreaks shaped the way he sees the world
>expects anything good from the 24/7 back to back threads that have been going rampant since S2 episode aired.
The Student Council President never wins ;_;
>Hikigaya points out that he too has a sister
Literally right after he says this, Haruno says
>“Hikigaya, you seem to understand everything, huh?”
and the novel goes on to describe this sentence like so:
>Those words that dripped with sarcasm felt like it was sneering at the depths of my shallowness. Simultaneously, there was this rejecting sharpness that barred all outsiders.
It's clear that Hachiman is misunderstanding Haruno's true intention. He doesn't really have any idea why she's doing these things to her younger sister.
>walking in the mall
>suddenly this appears beside you
Tries to hide boner and keep calm.
I'd lose it when she uses that sly voice though....
Honestly, I guess as much, which is why I used the LN for context. If you know that ahead of time, putting the pieces together in the anime isn't hard but takes some stretch of imagination. How you're supposed to figure it out in the anime is by what tone of voice Haruno uses when saying things, kind of like how Iroha changes her tone of voice for Hachiman.
He reads it too shallowly. He attributes it to a basic sibling dispute when it's actually something much deeper. I don't think it's out of line to say Hachiman's impression that 'Well, Haruno is messing with Yukino because that's what older siblings do' when in reality Haruno is making a very real effort to save her little sister is misreading it.
It's also interesting to note that in this case Hachiman also makes inferences based upon what he perceives as basic patterns of behavior but once again completely ignores any emotional aspect of the Yukinoshitas' connection. Which is ironic because Hachiman loves his little sister very much and should certainly be able to understand that emotion in others but refuses to even consider what might exist between the two emotionally.
It's because Hachiman (and Yukino) cannot read these emotional connections that he is constantly falling into misunderstandings and not able to make his own connections with others.
Not him, but she does go on saying
>“Don’t make that scary face. I really am impressed.”
>“Thanks for that…”
>I rubbed my clothes at the area where the goose bumps were as I answered.
>Haruno whose gaze was directed at me was surprisingly soft.
>“You really are interesting. The way you always look beyond a person’s words and actions. I actually like that quite a lot you know.”
I think most of her sarcasm stemmed from anger from him acting like he understood, not necessarily the inaccuracy of his statement. Although it could mean anything.
So if Yukino wanted to be like her sister because she like Hayama, and if she stopped wanting to mirror her sister after she met 8man, could that be the reason Haruno acts the way she does?
8man isn't going to sacrifice himself to help the yukinoshita sisters. He got over it. The 3 of them are going to solve it themselves. The solution is easy if Hayama like Haruno, they just need to make Haruno accept Hayama.
Not even close. Her presence becomes less and less throughout the novels and she's more or less a plot device used to spur Hachiman into doing things he normally doesn't want to do.
Aren't his failures to pick up on emotional cues simply a result of him finding himself in a position where attempting to address those emotional events leading to situations where he may end up over stepping his bounds? Is that a correct approach to understand his character flaws?
I will never understand why hikky ever like this girl in the first place.
I've just finished volume 5 and right at the end 8man is disappointed by Yukino's supposed lie. The only bit I assumed she lied about was the "that's the plan" line in regards to the club starting that day. Is that the lie? None of what she said seems to contradict anything. Is he going on gut feeling or how she said it?
8man has been proven wrong multiple times.
Real human bean are more much complex compare to the stereotype he usually applied them to.
He just thinks of himself as a know it all expert.
mfw I thought about that possibility for the first time.
I don't know if you want say Iroha was using hayama. Not in the typical way where there's some up front deception and because Hayama trusts her (he prolly doesn't) he just goes along with it. It's more like Hayama's presence there was a tool for her to make it clear who her friends think she likes. He probably didn't think too much of it (the guy gets fucking swamped by pussy.)
in vol 10 hayama spends a whole soccer practice dealing with rejecting girls after a rumor shows up about him.
who does Iroha sound like right now?
I'll leave that rhetorical.
Why does she do this?
Hint for the normalfags.
Don't you notice that people of the opposite sex act differently around you depending on whether or not they know you are interested in or dating someone else?
Best girl iroha but she has the potential to become a sociopath. Sorta like Hikki. Yui is just in an emotional downward spiral and you worry about her too. Yukino's family troubles are probably weighing on her and it becomes very clear that if Hachiman really fucks up the bowl for himself, he's gonna make a lot of people sad and mad.
School days taught me. Harems are unrealistic because you're juggling a bunch of girls that you dont ever want to be seen by while with another girl. Pretty much one fuck up and its over.
like this fucking nigga 8man here, he goes around and pulls Yui to him like ep 9? of S1. He hates how she is on the superficial level ("nice girls" yadda yadda). He just squashes it. NO FUCKING RESPONSE TO THE CONFESSION. He just completely ignores it.
Outside impression of him so far: fucking faggot
Now he's kicking it with Iroha and he goes on that infamous fake date.
Whats your objective opinion, normalfags?
This guy is a stone cold player, yes! But he's jugglin now.
If 8man can pull off a miracle, we mught end up with Haruno/Hayama and 8man/Yukinoshita
Much better than the cuck ending of Hayama/Yukinoshita, where Haruno and Hikki get fucked over,
>Although it could mean anything
That was what I was attempting to imply. Basically, Haruno wanted to reject what he was saying because it was belittling the situation, but after realizing she overreacted she attempted to praise him for being inquisitive.
Another thing is that Hachiman is genuinely afraid of Haruno's personality. When Hachiman reacts like he did in the anime, it's because he knows Haruno doesn't really play around when she uses that tone of voice.
He's disappointed in himself, anon, for holding Yukino up like some sort of perfect idol to be admired. He wanted to believe that Yukino was infallible, and after realizing that he has once again gotten his hopes up for no reason, chides himself for forgetting why he keeps everyone at arm's length.
It took us a shitload of volumes for 8man to finally consider Yui and Yukinon friends.
I wonder if we'll see him finally falling for someone, or if the series will just completely ignore 8man's lovelife (I mean him liking girls, not the other way around)
I actually want to see what he'd do in a possible love triangle situation. Would he roll over and let "better people" find happiness, or would he finally stand up for himself.
I just finished reading chapter 2, volume 10,5 and holy fuck...
>gets him to go on a date
>decides to do the things that he wants to do, even though he's like the opposite of Hayama
>refuses to watch separate movies
>acts all cute and sly during the entire fucking date
>“I asked the vice president if there was any place I could go out to to have fun on the weekend. And that’s just for today. Just for today!”
>goes to said fun place
>takes the picture together with him and keeps the receipt
>admits having fun
>tells him that there is going to be a next time
>asks him to not forget that day
She had the entire thing planned all along.
It's not even subtle anymore, it's so fucking obvious. How the fuck are some people unable to see her true reasons?
Its me again
I just finished the 1st 2 chapters of volume 8 and Im not really sure how they manage to skip over most of his inner thoughts
Also is the author a fan of kancolle or something?
I can't wait for Vol.11
8man on a collison course with Hayama, Iroha going nuclear for 8man, and him finally getting personally involved with Yukinoshita at a deeper level.
Will he remain oblivious to Yui and Iroha? Will one of them confess to him? Will he fight for Yukinoshita?
I'll raise you some
>is the author a fan of KanColle or something
Wataru is a massive otaku. He constantly references recent memes, fads and current anime.
You could always just re-read whatever chapters the anime covers as it airs, anon. There's no need to spoil yourself ahead of time and you can use the LN to fill in any blanks you might have after watching the anime.
He certainly has a lot of issues with trust and isolates himself from others by setting up barriers and lines which he will not cross - you could argue that that's a type of emotional detachment.
But even so he just really cannot read other people's emotions at all. Call it autism or whatever you want but it's quite severe. There have been multiple times in volumes 8-10 where he had conversations with Yukinoshita where he perceives her as sitting calmly before him in what he would just consider to be her manner and he makes absolutely no attempt to assess her emotionally. If the novels were written from Yukino's position I can pretty much guarantee you that her inner monologue would be on the same level as Hachiman's Genuine speech.
There's something just really wrong with both of them where they don't have the ability to understand people this way. Which is why most likely eventually Yui will have to be the one to explain to them that they love each other.
Oh wait... Is the lie actually something to do with the car accident? Now that I think about it she might well have lied earlier on about not knowing about that then when 8man sees her it all sort of hits him and he ends up being disappointed. Cheers for jogging my memory anon.
>Haruno riding 8man cowgirl
>8man trying to push her off
>She gets up real close to his face
>He awkwardly tries to look away
>She whispers into his ear "You're such an amusing boy"
>She grabs his chin to force him to face her
>She spits on him and lets her drool run down onto his face and says "You love this, don't you? You little slut"
>8man cums with the force of a thousand blackholes
>the car incident
Nailed it. He initially assumes that she didn't bring it up because she didn't know, but later finds out she just doesn't want to talk about it and lies. Yui makes this point, as well.
I haven't been following this thread since the end of S1. What's the general(majority) opinion on this Iroha girl?
I think she's the shittiest character of them all. Her voice is also annoying.
Yeah, I think the feelings they have for each other lay in a subconcious level. 8man actually makes the effort of trying to cross over "the line" and get closer to her at the end of Vol.10, and she seems incredibly receptive.
I don't think Yukinon truly understands why she stopped trying to out do her sister, and I don't think 8man understands why he felt the need to cross "that line".
Many LN readers really like her because of development that occurs during the next couple volumes, which obviously haven't happened in the anime yet.
She's supposed to seem like an annoying kouhai who's hard to deal with, but she quickly warms up to Hachiman and even worms her way into becoming a pseudo club member.
Stop baiting, faggot.
You should be ashamed of yourself
>Someone talks shit about my favorite (thing)! Hey guys, it's bait!
The amount of ignorance in 4chan is abysmal.
So wait, shitposting aside, from what I'm reading in this thread, did 8man manage to cuck Hayama TWICE?
>Haruno likes him more than she likes Hayama
>Yukinon wasted years trying to become like her sister to make Hayama like her, but she stopped doing that after 8man joined the club
I'd take any bodily fluids coming from Haruno.
fixed, have a best girl pic
>The drama ensues and 8man gets cornered by his own club mates.
Nah the only thing they have on him is that he's guarded. It's true but it's irrelevant ad hominem.
That don't have shit on him concerning the actual club activities, as he's been successful in injecting himself where he doesn't matter by any objective measure.
Your first point is correct, but there's literally no evidence to suggest the latter at the moment. The people spewing shit about Hayama being engaged to Yukino are purely speculating and there's no solid grounds to believe that at this point.
All we know for certain is that at some point in the past, Haruno was chosen over Yukino for something, and the person doing the choosing was likely Hayama.
About 8man and Yukinoshita family issue, Does 8man think himself worthy for Yukino? He always acts like Yukino is something out of his reach and completely belong to different class. Not to mention Yukinomom completely ignored him. Yukinomom wants a long lasting relationship with Hayama's family in that case, if Yukino and Hayama are really in arranged marriage, and if Hayama actually likes Yukino.
How can 8man stop them? It will cause a bigger social suicide for him.
I can see the story goes that why because it fits the fairy tale ending if 8man x Yukino can solve all that problem and end up together. It also can give a big character developmet for 8man for Yukino's family to accept him he needs to change and stop thinking like a loser.
Does anybody else have a problem with how some fan artist draw Irohasu as like seven fucking years old?
LN cover: realistic
anime: slightly KyoAni level moeblob
fanart: photoshopped misaka mikoto
of course there's artistic freedom but I'm just lamenting the trend.
>mfw Yukino thought the meeting was all Haruno's plan and that Hayama was just being her puppet as usual
>mfw Haruno sees the angry glare she gives Hayama and smiles
>mfw Haruno just wants Yukino to be herself
>mfw Yukino is finally trying to be herself because fuck Hayama
>mfw Hayama won't get either of the Yukinoshitas
>mfw Haruno's master plan with 8man is finally revealed
>mfw Yukino knew the plan the whole time
>mfw Haruno was never bad
Just treat her as the younger version of Aoi.
tfw you realize 8man's Saika boners are really just an expression of his deep seeded desire to protect his own boyish innocence and covet "easy mode" childish things, while pushing complex adult relationships away and maintaining a jaded disdain for the real world.
that and he wants to jam it in
He stops seeing himself as a loser by the end of Vol.10.
He finally has the balls to look at Hayama eye to eye, and see an equal.
He also has a great exchange with him
>I hate you
>I hate you too.
>Someone talks shit about my favorite (thing)! >Hey guys, it's bait!
No that's not why it's bait. It's bait because its a post that just talks shit without backing any of it up. Not to mention the baitposter placed his fucking edgelord thesis statement under an unnecessary spoiler tag. Unnecessary spoil tag = you just want to rustle some jimmies because they are looking intently at what they think is a comment but is more just a continuation of the text post.
You're the fucking ignorant one bruh
The amount of ignorance in 4chan is abysmal.
She doesn't lie, she just obfuscates the truth. The end of volume 5 shows that Yukinon likely wanted to talk about the incident, but Hachiman kind of blew her off there.
He said that he wanted to try and fix what he broke. He knew what 8man does is effective so he tried it. Obviously things didn't go as planned because Haruno popped in and Yukino thought it was about something completely different because of it.
Anons say that he did that because he wants to move 8man up to his level, because he doesn't like losing to 8man who is inferior.
He did that to see 8man get ridiculed, then pretend to stand up to him while Yukinon and Yui are watching.
About the car accident, did it knock 8man out? I seem to recall that he broke his foot or something, but if he didn't fall unconscious or anything, then he should have been able to meet both the owner of the dog and the driver/passenger of the car.
It's the former. This is of course from knowledge that anime watcher won't have yet, but the second is so far off the mark that spoiling his intentions is probably necessary to avoid future confusion, especially during Volume 10.
I believe Hachiman only remembers diving out onto the road to save the dog, and waking up in the hospital afterwards.
The problem is 8man can't save Yukino - she has to save herself. But doing so would fly in the face of all of her societal responsibilities. It could happen, but I'm doubtful that it will.
I think that a step in that process will probably rely on Hachiman's family - at some point Yukino is going to need to meet them and see how a real family works if she's to take steps and break away from her own.
Of course then that will probably also lead to forced drama where it turns out Hikigaya's Mom/Dad works for the Yukinoshitas' somehow.
Commies subs: 8: "maybe so, but we could always solve this without an election battle" YY: " are you talking about your idea from before" 8: 'yea' YY: "you greatly overestimate yourself if you think you can influence the entire student body alone" 8: "then I'll just have to think of a method that takes that into account" YY: "if you think everybody cares about you enough to hate you, then you think far too much of yourself"
Crunchyroll subs: 8 "That may be, but not trying at all is also an option" Yuk: "Are you talking about your own suggestion" 8: "Yeah" Yuk: "Thinking that anything you say or do will move the entire student body is arrogant" 8: "Then I just have to think of how to do it with that in mind" Yuk: "Thinking that everyone concerns themselves with you enough to hate you is overly self-conscious"
Which is right?
>hates superficial shit
>delicious modest breasts
>a competitor in bed
What more can you ask for?
He did it to humiliate hikky and asked Haruno to help ring him in. Haruno agreed to help because she wanted to see hikky's reaction and to help him get over Orimoto by confronting her.
Hayama pussies out because he feels ashamed so he called in Yui and Yukino.
Haruno is pissed he did that but she was able to trick Yukino into running for president.
Haruno calls up Hiratsuka and tells her the situation. Hiratsuka talks to hikky and asks him about what he's going to do.
8man got played by Haruno to save Yukino and find a solution without hurting himself. According to LNfags he gets Iroha to take the presidency seriously and offers to assist her.
Maybe Haruno asked Sensei to put 8man into the service club from the beginning , so that he'll become attached to Yukino and one day be obligated to save her from their mother.
Haruno that fucking fujo probably just took him to pound town against his will. Haruno is Griffith
there is a lot of common events that are brought up in these threads. Engagement, betrothal(!), other prearrangements made by their wealthy families when they were young.
when you meet Yukinoshita's mom for Yukinos bday dinner Hayama is there too. He ultimately goes in with her, hikki and yui get the cold shoulder. That along with the sickened reaction 8man has when he thinks of betrothal as their bond, makes me think we are on the right track.
>waaay better sex
>Maybe Haruno asked Sensei to put 8man into the service club from the beginning
They don't know each other before his date with Yukino
>Haruno calls up Hiratsuka and tells her the situation
It is Yukino who tells Hiratsuka sensei
Do you even watch this show or read the LN at all?
To be fair, I speed read through Volume 10 in order to be caught up before the anime aired, so I very well could have missed some things. I plan on re-reading Volumes 9 and 10 since there seem to be points where I can't recall certain aspects of.
First season. Hachiman still isn't able to fully trust Yui because of that whole 'nice girl' thing she does.
YY: "if you think everybody cares about you enough to hate you, then you think far too much of yourself"
Yuk: "Thinking that everyone concerns themselves with you enough to hate you is overly self-conscious"
These seem different. You think far too much of yourself vs overly self-conscious
Not being a cunt
properly apologizing for running someone over with a car
inflating the club with huge amounts of uneccesarry drama
Still doing it even after 8man solves iroha's request and even worsens it
takes ten volumes to buy the teacup
isn't still officialy friends with 8man
>Delicious modest breasts
Doesn't like her personality, also thinks she likes him for the wrong reasons (superficial ones or whatever).
It's not like he hates her but he's just a huge fucking pussy about it. He should have at least let her finish her speech. Even fucking Kanye West did that. Nothing in terms of a real answer, just keeps Yui on the hook for suffering.
>Yuigahama and 8man sitting far away from each other in the club room as usual without yukinoshita in it
>I realized that the distance between us is still the same
>That's just how yuigahama acts to everyone, even to people she has little to no interest in
>i think i can finally put an end to that stupid idea that she was trying or did confess to me. What a stupid notion.
>Remembers miura's remark about yui never ever considering going out with her
>Yeah, i guess it's time to go home
Sorry guys, Yui's not going to win this one.
