Shaft has their own style, but they don't normally ruin perfectly good series just to show it off.

I love both talking about animation quality but I like two series made by Kyoani and I love a bunch of shows made by SHAFT.

Neither are particularly bad compared to Aniplex and A-1 at this point. For /a who seem to think they are the only two studios in existence I'd say SHAFT is marginally worse at this point if only because Kyoani at least seems to give somewhat of a damn about the animation quality of their show rather than just working some hack directors visual gimmicks to save money.

Mostly I just wish people would shut the fuck about both of them though and pay more attention to other studios output too.
