Will school boy anime ever be popular?
It would be if they did it right.
(Danshi Koukousei no nichijou)
binan magical school boys was p good last season
NICHIBROS THREAD!
Maybe if they made the boys tomboys.
I feel like Kimi to Boku would have been boring even if they had been girls, but it's hard to say

>>123740880

Looked like Hopper to me
>>123741338
Sounds like a winner to me
@123740880
nobody cares about boys
every anime should have a main cast of 4 girls and all male characters should be tertiary at best
K-On is a good example

Kimi to boku may have been a bit boring, but it fulfilled a comfy series that I had been craving for a while, and the music was pretty good.
>>123740880
Free was popular. Much like school girl anime, the secret to popularity is gay subtext.

Holy fuck, I know you're probably trolling, but still, just get out.
>>123740880
Kimi to Boku would have been explosive if they didn't spend the whole time wearing clothes.
>>123741338
>This is never going to happen
>Even if it did, it would sell like shit
>>123740880
No matter how /a/ feels about it, I enjoyed this anime.

>@123740880
Holy smokes, where did you come from?
>>123740880
This was pretty boring. But something about it made me continue watching.

Me too anon. The OST was fantastic and the romance was really cute.
I'd say schoolboy anime is brilliant in a metatextual way because it shows once you strip away the cute girls, high schoolers' lives are fucking boring.
To that end though, stuff like Nichibros is hilarious, especially for anime, and I think it's because writers are far willing to be more emotionally and physically cruel to male characters.

Weren't they always?
I love Nichibros but it's so painful to watch I can't stand it.
