It started out with Martin Luthers criticism of the Catholic Church under the reign of Alexander IV (if you've watched "The Borgias" or played Assassins Creed 2, you should know him) which was followed up on by Jean Cauvin and Ulrich Zwingli. What started out as attempts to reform the Church somewhat accidentily created new denominations. From that point onward they went full retard and everyone and their mother started a new Church. As for that earlier Criticism, the Council of Trent dealt with it to a various degrees.

tl;dr: Know your denominations, it helps you differentiate misguided brothers from uneducated plebs.

Well, depends on whether you're telling the story from a Catholic or an Orthodox standpoint. Before they split, there was really only one Christianity (and a few minor sects like Arianism, that were almost instantly deemed heretical for being semi-pagan). I guess it's better to say that prior to the split, there was no Catholic or Orthodox.

We've been over this. If it's gonna happen, it won't happen until after the HF adaption is done. And when the HF adaption is done, there's still the possibility of a HA adaption. And if a HA adaption happens, that will add at least a couple of years to the the wait for an Apoc adaption that may never come to be. At best, if it does get adapted in the future, it will be sometime around 2020. That is, assuming Ufotable will handle all these adaptions even in the future.
