>800 BD sold
after Kill Me Baby S2 maybe
The numbers were like RPG levels. Bests aren't bests because they have stones, they just leveled up until they were super. The stones were attracted to people with strong spirits, so bests just ended up finding them as a matter of course.
Hibiki was making progress towards becoming a best though hard work and determination. "No shortcuts" was like her takeaway lesson from the whole journey.
Stones were just starship fuel
the stones were a placebo and every human in The Rolling Girls world can level up. Hibiki started the show at level 1 and ended at level 3. She needs to be at least level 5 to reach Best level.
>Masami and Shigyo realize their true power was within them all along
>first thing they do is hit each other
I swear to god if you're right I'm going to kill myself
I need this in my life
>mfw actually flying to Tokyo tomorrow
I WILL BUY ALL OF THEM
I thought that whole schtick was silly. How does losing self-confidence suddenly make you fragile enough to get KO'd by a bottle after being resilient enough to do all the crazy stuff they did in the 1st arc
get me one
Send a few to the Netherlands please!
>I need to buy Gugure stuff too
I'm going to need to sell my body to pay for all of this
Maybe it's a psychic projection that augments their offensive and defensive capabilities, rather than an innate quality, hence why the only Best that's really particularly brawny is Dandy, while the rest are just girls with athletic builds and a handful of lean guys.
What else did you guys watch besides RG this season?
>Binan Faggot Magical Boy Anime
this season was lame, but Rolling Girls saved it,
even if it was only alright
>Stones were just starship fuel
Starship fuel can't lift steel beams
I finished Gugure today
fucking hell 2 shows in a row that I hate to see go that I know will never get S2's
hold me, money senapi ;_;
Jojo and Jesus christ I dropped everything else.
Well I'm off to bed, I wanted to stick around longer now that it's over but I'm really tired.
Maybe I'll have a cute dream of the rolling girls after this heavy ending.
Watched a bunch of the harem shows and the only one that was worth making it to the end was testament because it was basically hentai with a story.
Death Parade and Maria were enjoyable, though.
The show as a whole was just decent, but it's an episodic show and the quality of arcs ranged from total shit to absolute masterpiece. Ep7/8 carried the whole show, but it's worth watching just for those.
>Chiaya didn't show up in the epilogue
Chiaya died on the way back to her home planet
Long hair no glasses
Anything with Masami, Shigyo and the mysterious Maccha Green were great even if they were depressingly underutilized. Motherfuckers were writing letters to Maccha Green for a reason.
Geisha and singer were cool too.
>Yukippe's manga is about her and her friends adventures
>Running after a ship and waving
>"The power was in you all along!"
I'm on episode 8, I want to watch it slowly, do they play Linda Linda on the last two arcs?
he new song collection is only for Blue Hearts songs. Stones is an anime original. Although Stones isn't on the OST besides for 2. Rolling Girls. So maybe it'll be on the BD release?
Goddess of direction.
Rolling Girls was one of the better shows this season, but it was a pretty good season overall.
You got it.
>repeating footage (i.e. the frame with Kaguya standing with the robot threatening to stomp her, even though she was down with Machan beside her)
>Nozomi's mouth moving with no dialogue
>staying on one frame while there's clearing sound effects and dialogue going on
Did the studio run out of money?
Like this is a question.
jesus christ get a life you bunch of
I envy you both for having enough time to do what you love and I wish I could do the same
Am I the only one who liked the Always Comima arc the most?
20 shows a season is still only 2-3 shows a day, which is literally 1 hour of anime watching.
Even on a busy workday you can find an hour to sit down and watch your shows, either all at once or broken up over a longer period of time while you get something else done.
If there are days where you can't even spare that hour, you can just save those shows for a day when you have more time, like a day off.
I like watching a tonne of shows because it helps me to organize my free time better so I don't just end up blankly staring at a dead thread whenever I run out of things to do.
I want to insult you but I'll just keep calm and tell you that I do not agree with your statement.
Would you a squid?
I'm in the cockpit now
Yes beaks. Also a stitch would be handy for reasons.
easily AOTS for me. Satisfying conclusion. I liked the bit about the stones being a placebo, and not having a cop out ending and having Chiaya actually go back to her home was really nice, even if it was a bit sad.
This show is pretty much is the opposite of the shows I hated this season.
This focused on the side characters and the world, instead of the main characters, while the other shows focused on the lead when the side characters were better.
She drove off with her lieutenant wasshername.
>Who are the Takumi Za and Evil Takumis and why did they attack near the end?
The builder guys. They were there since episode 1.
The good Takumis were the guys who made the inflatable Maccha Green. The evil ones made most of the destructive things that were all over the episodes.
>And why was pirate lady trying to build a spaceship
She fucking said it last episode, she wanted to take over the moon too.
They're not Masami, none of them are superpowered, but they're still going to see all of Maccha Green's commissions to the end.
Thank you for indulging my forgetfulness.
Mob characters, the background, irrelevant to story in the end characters. It's about those types of people giving their all and doing what they can, even if they're destined to not be the center of things.
A NICE MIND
Started and dropped
The unstoppable Maccha Green.
M-maybe they are just saving up for the OVA, right?
>Shirbako and Rolling Girls are both over
I get the impression that their schedule collapsed int he last few episodes. They tried to pack more than normal action into the last few episodes and couldn't keep up.
There were some absolutely gorgeous scenes in the last arc, but they obviously took their toll.
>mfw I picked this show up and it was cash as fuck.
>tfw didn't get to see macchan and paperclip kick ass in the ship
Part of me hopes they were just in a hurry and will have more time to clean it up for a BRD release. A guy can dream, right?
Yeah, the rest of the series was paced for one shiny fight every other episode, and I always assumed it was so they wouldn't blow their wad. Ima watch it over soon to see how it affects the story, though. I find it hard to judge just from memory.
It was a great scene to include the exhaust noise and the muffled voice to me, luckily I waited for cthuko for that episode. We are lucky its not a 2 stroke engine, shit even worst.
Theory is it's made by Chiaya herself because she wanted to have friends, based off her memories when they were young, with how she expected them to look when they were older.
And some other stuff. I'm actually very happy with the season overall, enjoyed this season far more than any from last year.
Akatsuki no Yona
Nanatsu no Taizai
I dropped KanColle and Ange
Shirobako is AOTS.
>even joking about lewding the Rolling Girls
Why was Yukina such an amazing character
Like conceptually, everything about her personality and mannerisms were amazing.
I lost my shit in the 2nd last episode when the other girl asked her if she knew where she was going and she just cringed and didn't answer. Every single thing that character does is subtle humour.
To be fair, if you can't complete an episodic arc in 2 full episodes, no amount of cours will save your show. That's just on the director and writers being unable to pace a short story properly.
And honestly, if I had to say one thing that was the biggest weakness of rolling girls, it was the directing. This was a show where the ambition of the creators exceeded their talent.
Momiyama is such a lady killer.
>Yukippe's book in the future maybe
Guys, the whole show was pretty quality.
fuck, even the opening was quality!
what the fuck were you watching?
>Check his voice
>It's Tomokazu Seki
I fucking knew it.
There would've needed to be a lot more substance to the show for any of the arcs to justify another 24 minutes.
I don't think I would've made it through a 3-episode Comima arc.
Is there anything more perfect than loli tomboys?
Don't worry Chiaya will come back in 217 when the next extreme super double moon happens.
One last appearance, alone. So is she everywhere or actually sisters?
>This was a show where the ambition of the creators exceeded their talent.
Yeah, that's a good way to put it
Anyone expected much out of the screenwriter who did Bible Black and Sengoku Basara?
The geisha rock arc was worth the whole show. Not to say I didn't like the rest, but that arc was just amazing.
That was the climax of the whole show. The finale was surprisingly more toned down in comparison.
Still "Nonsuke, you were my Macha Green, you know" was my favourite moment of this season, right with Zuka's breakthrough and Aoi's emotional reaction.
Power ranger on the left, anon. She's a super hero now.
holy fuck Yukina's evil face. I love it.
When it got to the end and there wasn't a scene of something descending from the sky while the girls got onto the bus and that meant no heartwarming reunion after they've grown and become stronger and more fulfilled individuals, I really lost it.
Every time I see somebody type "bye bye" in the threads it hits me again.
I'm gonna wake up tomorrow sad as fuck.
Well, /a/, it was a ton of fun. I hope there'll be something as vibrant and dynamic as this in the future.
Right in the feels
I fucking loved the music in this show. I'm really going to miss it.
Is it weird that I didn't cry? Like, I really didn't feel sad at all. I don't get why everyone is crying about it, I feel like there wasn't enough character development for me to get attached to anyone.
Nah, I'm actually a little attached and it still wasn't like that. There was nothing monstrously sad about it, if anything it was a kinda happy moment.
Maybe people were just due for a good cry. That happens.
None of these.
But I'm really sad, not only for the bittersweet ending but also because it has been a while since I've got this attached to a series.
Last time I felt like this was when Joshiraku ended.
The art, style, characters, setting, it was damn catchy. Sometimes confusing, but it was an awesome way to end my week and I used to look forward to each episode and /a/'s threads. Maybe not the best, but my favorite from the season. I'll miss it,
and you faggots too.
I would rather be an overly-emotional person, sometimes I feel like I'm not alive because I don't ever get sad or angry like I used to. I just want to feel something again.
I'm not usually one for getting emotional when watching Chinese cartoons but the geisha rock reunion and "You're my Maccha Green" definitely got to me a bit. I think I might even have gotten a little misty eyed at the latter.
They'll see each other again, right?
>There won't be Rolling Girls next week
Hold me /a/
>forced to live a shitty life where she isn't allowed to have friends and be a normal girl
>finally makes friends
>decides to leave them forever
It was messy. They made a mistake by trying to make the final episode also the arc's climax and were stuck trying to balance the exciting conclusion to the current arc as well as concluding the entire show as a whole.
The result was kind of an anticlimax. It was a good end for the whole series but not for the current story that was unfolding. Compared to the other arcs that all had relatively strong climaxes, it was jarringly lame.
It was fun and cute, I will miss this qt alien. Will maybe see some of you in threads for the next comfy show.
Second season confirmed.
I'll be in her cockpit if you know what I mean.
It was a good series. The ending was weak though.
Pic related; was in the new time-line or the old-one? If it was the original one why is Chiaya look older/wearer her older clothes? I am guessing they cut back on animation or something?
Also Did Chiaya have to go?
Why didn't the Professor leave with them as well?
>"Oh making friends is important and through friendship one is able to do anything!"
>"Sike! See ya guys!"
It was a good show with some genuinely amazing moments, but I really wish they could have handled their budget better. I'll miss it anyway.
>Pic related; was in the new time-line or the old-one? If it was the original one why is Chiaya look older/wearer her older clothes? I am guessing they cut back on animation or something?
That's when they first landed on Earth.
>Also Did Chiaya have to go?
No but it was probably important to see her family
>Why didn't the Professor leave with them as well?
Ambiguous but he probably liked Earth.
Weren't they travelling between time-lines? Chiaya on the space-ship is just going to a different timeline Earth, right?
Also Didn't Chiaya like Earth too probably more so than the Professor?
Super ambiguous ending for sure though.
It's definitely not her book in the future.
Lil Chiaya is reading in the past.
>Weren't they travelling between time-lines?
Please not this shit again. Can't stand this timetravel/timelines shit in my media anymore
I literally have no idea anymore. The plot is the show was complete shit the more and more that I look at it.
At point; Momiyma tells her she needs to return to the home-planet; but Professor made the space-ship for time-travel?
>cont Pic related
She needs to go back in time to get to the portal they opened at that time in the past.
The portal takes the Chiaya home. The space-ship at the end travels back in time to the original point when the portal was still open.
If they can travel back in time then why does it matter when Chiaya leaves?
She could have kicked with Nonsuke and the gang and at later point in the future traveled back to the portal?
Now I am just nit-picking but still.
Anything possible with space-time travel!
Yeah that'd be a little bit of shock for her folks I suppose.
>every 400 years
Was that in the series or the manga? Also time-travel so that doesn't really matter. They could just back to the original time when the portal was opened. I suppose if they missed that one they're fucked though because if they waited 400 years for the next one, who knows what happened on Chiaya's original planet.
The Japs had trouble with it too. Here's a translation into Japanese. The dudes responding were like "oooooh, I had no idea what it meant, but that's pretty cool."
>literal translation of best and rest
But the literal translation is best and rest, it's already English.
It's based on the common metaphorical pairing in English of "The best and the rest". You're the the best or just the rest. Slam with the best, or jam with the rest.
>Track 40 - 人はその輝きを・・
I knew I recognized the first minute or so to this while watching the episode. The song from Yuushibu EX05. And there was the man's name: Yokoyama Masaru. I remembered it because it was such a beautiful song. Here's a link to listen if you don't have it on hand: http://a.pomf.se/pkurul.mp3
He changed it up some and segued it into the actual STONES/Rolling Girls theme part but I still caught it.
Best part was the concert arc and the beggining, everything else feels really weak in comparison also what was the deal with the president? Did she returned or the squid was a different alien?
>It's a nice day
>It's a nice day
>It's a nice day
>It's a laid back day
Wait so the Professor/Otonashi started the Takumi's for the purpose of bringing himself back to his home planet 100 years ago since he landed on Earth 100 years earlier than Haruka/Chi's mom and Chiaya. And the Professor left with Chiaya to go back to their home planet but Haruka stayed on Earth? Why did Chiaya want to leave anyways, did she want to return home more than staying with her friends on Earth? Why didn't Haruka leave with Chiaya and the Professor?
Didn't like a lot of the show because of the lack of budget and the fact that the director seemed to have no idea what he was doing most of the time, but I enjoyed it overall for the theme alone.
Also, dem painted backgrounds.
I always interpreted it as girls like Nozomi trying their best, for others, for herself. Even if they're destined to be a "rest" instead of a "best".
Seriously just "rest" and "best", instead of "mob" and "leader"
