Just got through Owari no Chronicle. Holy shit, Kawakami is either based as fuck or the greatest turboautist that ever wrote.

Hikaru ga Chikyuu and Allison/Lillia and Treize,

The former is a pretty good romance, translations are pretty slow though.
The other two are awfully fun considering how simple the writing is, good worldbuilding though.

I'm surprised at how chill Julis is. I was prepared to dislike her since she was a fiery redheaded fire-using princess, and since she and the MC were introduced via the usual "accidental walk-in and peep" vehicle. Though of what I'm reading, everything is either caught up with the most recent novel or has rare irregular updates/dead translations so the only one you could say I'm really "reading" is Overlord. Altina Translations next month, though. Also looking for recommendations. Is there anything out there that has a strong/intelligent MC who isn't overpowered, doesn't have everything nice dropped into his/her lap, and actually faces challenges?

I saw the thread about it on AS. Basically kid got born with a sign of the demon lord which led to his entire village including his parents treating him like shit. Don't take romance in web novels, or lns in general, too seriously.
A 4 year-old could be told that they're cute with no further interaction, and show up 12 years later after having decided to randomly devote their life to the person who literally only told them that they were cute.

Finding a novel with a good balance somewhere in-between easy-win heroines and forced romance is hard.
