We already know he is, but not really the usual type of crazy; not the "Lol I love destruction", or the self harming sort per say. Not any of the types of crazy you see in anime mostly.

Just mostly warped

Has very little sense of self and denies his own existence, is used to seeing death, doesn't mind throwing his life away to save people, has a strong ego which is in contrast with his denial of self, just whatever else.

Someone who has thrown away his soul in exchange for ideals that aren't his own because he thought it would make him happy at the time due to imprinting upon Kiritsugu when he died in the fire and came back to life at the verge of death. All he can become are those ideals, because its all he has in a sense, its what his new self is entirely based upon.

Two routes are about breaking him down and rebuilding him in different ways. One path makes him human again, and the other path makes him a more manageable type of hero.

I'll try. What would you like to see if I actually did? I'm a college student and like most of /a/ I probably have ADD and have issues with follow-through and laziness. If I were to do something, it'd be fairly short. That's not actually correct. The VN tells you that Shiki stopped training for years and even got brainwashed which locks his abilities. He is considerably weaker than his past self just like Soujuurou.
