Does anyone else here feel that FateZero is the greatest anime ever made?

- Amazing script by Urobuchi (some of the best dialogue in anime). "Dreams disappear when the dreamer wakes. Every last one of them, with no exception.”
- GOD-tier choreography by Ufotable (see webm related).
- Everything of its production oozes polish, from the consistently atmospheric artwork, fluid animation, methodical pacing.
- Intricate plot and characterization following several masters and servants juggling all of their character journies at once.
- Best execution of greek tragedy in anime.
- The 2 Kiritsugu episodes are some of the best storytelling in any TV series, anime or not.

I was talking overall. For me who's been following every season of the last eight years almost completely, this is one of the most stand-out and memorable (in a good way) shows I've ever seen, and even beyond that it's a great piece of fiction. Lacking in terms of character development (it's all over the place) and an engaging "real" main plot, but the intrigue is just gripping, the choreography a sight to behold, the directing in general. And in terms of characters they were almost all good in their own right (except for Kayneth and Ryuunosuke) and the finale was absolute madness. For me it was an amazing ride from start to finish and even after having it watched three times it remains one of my favorites.

Not exactly a good adaptation of the manga, but it's great as its own thing. I liked it, and it's a nice example of good directing that HxH 2011 didn't have. I preferred the tone, drama, and characterization over the original content too.

I finished the series literally yesterday, and I agree on this. It's just that the Grail War and the "diplomacy" involved (read: kill all other Masters) prevented anyone from breaking through Kiritsugu's flawed mentality.
