How? Shinbou's work is usually as a director, so his influence shows more in cinematography, editing, and cuts than in animation. Could you have been mistaking that? Perhaps the scenes DO share an animator, but it's not Shinbou.

Shinbou has dreadfully little famous stuff to his name as a key animator. He became famous as an AD and a storyboarder, and it shows. His calling cards include fish eye views, super close ups, extremely varied palettes, unconventional photograph textures, rapid cutting, and constant 4th wall breaking. Those aren't animation related.

Directors rarely animate their own shows, though they might have a supply of loyal animators that give their shows a signature style. Imaishi often does his own animation, and Yoshinari Yoh is a good friend of his who often ADs and does Sakuga for him. Yutapon and Kameda at bones, Matsumoto and Yamashita for Nurutu, Hosoda has Ryosuke Sawa.

Some directors didn't even start out as animators, and know little about animation. Watanabe is a famous case, he more often is involved in sound production and scriptwriting than the visual element, handing it to the ADs and even the key animators themselves, hence that SD situation.
