What was she trying to say?
Why is Ai so perfect? Best girl of the season by far.
I think you might be mistaking Ai for this girl instead.
Seriously fuck Aoi, how can she not use her connections to get her friend a job?
That scene in bar don't fucking count, sad Zuka said it's ok but it isn't!
Miyamori should later ask every fucking producer/director she know to give friend a job, without her knowing it. Even suck a dick if she must, that's what friendship is!
Am I the only one that can't stand her? Her autism doesn't add anything to the series. She's only there to give Ema relevance as a caretaker/senpai. She'll manage to say one whole word in the last episode and everyone will go "Omedetou!". FUCK YOU!
Why is she still here? Just to suffer?
I wouldn't mind were it not for the fact she gets way too much screen time.
Also too much apologist scenes on Hiraoka.
Sorry, Ai got NTRd by best girl.
Funny story, a new anime-original character is added at the end as a sequel hook. Said character ends up being voiced by Zuka.
>Even suck a dick if she must, that's what friendship is!
What is this face trying to convey?
VA is not supposed to be an easy
The show seems to expect her social anxiety and inability to communicate in the workplace to be seen as cute and not problematic but she's not cute at all and winds up being annoying most of the time.
I find it funny that the only person in the show who says that Tarou gets his work done promptly and well is Tarou himself. Everyone else still holds him up as the bad example. And we don't even know how well his episodes even turn out.
Catching up with the show and on Ep11. I'm not going to miss this show with /a/ like I did with Tari Tari.
Why does Miyamori always race that guy on route to Segawa's? Is Segawa a freelancer that works for any company? I'm asking because Endou always works at the studio and not at home like her. They're both Art Directors if I'm correct. I figured that maybe the other guy is from another animation studio Segawa animates for.
Segawa really has a nice pair Segawas on her.
The way I understand it is that Segawa is more of a freelance animator for different studios and accepts jobs as animation supervisor sometimes, too. And her Segawas are pretty nice. Who wouldn't want to race to see those in action?
Remember when Ema used to be bullied, good times.
She races him for a parking spot and yes Segawa is a freelancer.
The entire show is an advertisement for women in the anime industry and all the problems they'll encounter. Ema had Imposter Syndrome this episode, Diesel encountered sexist accusations from Emo Kid a while back, and the Incredible Autist is a self-insert for women/girls who have zero confidence/social anxiety in male dominated environments. That's what she "adds" to the show.
You could argue this is a case of an agenda ruining the story if you want.
You're right I think. For me, this shows is an advertisement to get more students on applying for slave labor animation jobs. They falsely make the SoL looks enjoyable to get them onboard.
>how can she not use her connections to get her friend a job?
Because she can't? She's a newbie production desk. She has little to no pull in the studio she works at, what makes you think she can affect the decisions in other studios?
I don't think it's that cynically motivated but it could certainly have the same result.
Have you noticed how they bully Zuka so much? I think it's because VA roles are the most contested so they're managing the expectations of anyone who'd choose to apply so they don't get disheartened too easily. That's also why they made Zuka stop Aoi from giving her a social leg up when she was in a meeting at the bar; they don't want VA's trying to social network they're way to the top.
>The show has cute girls as the main cast because otaku like cute girls.
If that were the (sole) reason why the cast are all women and girls it wouldn't explain why the female cast is so incredibly well fleshed out relative to 95% of all other anime women. Every character in this show, male and female, has at least one other thing besides their role in the company (with the exception of Aoi). If you compare that with some other anime where the cast is mostly girls to appease the otaku you'd notice immediately how all of the girls in other shows are defined almost entirely around their appeal to the MC. They're shrine maidens, or twin tails, or exchange students, or maids; in Shirobako they're women talking late at night in a street bar about their future, they're living alone and calling their mother to tell them they don't have to worry about their finances anymore, etc.
I'm exaggerating when I call the show feminist propaganda but if you compare it to what's airing then it's not far from it.
>why the cast are all women and girls it wouldn't explain why the female cast is so incredibly well fleshed out relative to 95% of all other anime women.
For the most part, they're not. Even the main characters aren't very well fleshed out. I wouldn't exactly call Shirobako poorly written, but its character writing is one of its weak points.
Fair enough. It's just the stark contrast from it's context that makes it feel so intentional. But you're right, it could just as easily be the miracle appearance of a decent writer in the Anime industry. (not sarcasm)
Hmm, I don't agree with you there.
Let's say that a well written character is one that's realistic. They have a personality and they behave consistently with respect to that personality. They also have multiple, sometimes conflicting wishes.
If that's an acceptable definition then there are a few characters who are straight out. Tarou is unrealistically dense and stupid, the Director has no interests outside of his job and the thin producer character who's the liaison with the author doesn't do much besides mahjong. Also Daisuke is "rounded" but not "well rounded", by which I mean to say his story has been relatively ham-fisted in it's delivery. There are a few others but with a cast so large it seems unfair to focus on fringe characters with little screen time.
The rest of the characters do better. All of the other characters behave consistent to their personality and have an interest outside of work or a strong motivation that shapes their work. The main cast want to make an anime together, all of the high level talent that were recruited for Ariel Girls had their drive and even the Goth Loli animator had her backstory for why she dressed the way she did.
But I'm going to stop half-heartedly there because it's getting late and we're getting dangerously close to arguing over subject preferences. Have fun, anon.
There must be a reason for that scene in the OP with Zuka and sunshine. It probably means she will get her big break in voice acting soon. And not hentai/JAV either, but actual anime.
The director was already on the record saying they don't want make it look easy for Shizuka to get into the VA business.
They are probably worried about the mass number of people wanting to get into the VA industry.
I bet I know what'll happen.
The next ep will have the original creator forcing them to put in a sequel hook featuring a new manga character. Musashino will look at the sales and get a sequel greenlit, and hire a proper established VA to voice the character, not Zuka. However that character will themselves have a subordinate that also needs to be established, and Zuka manages to land that role. It's an incredibly minor role and she has like one line, but it promises her a chance of voicing that character in S2 so it's basically her potential breakthrough in a few months.
Basically just enough rope to keep her fighting.
Maybe more than we can understand
Crash into what? I'm not a car. You sound upset anon.
I for one welcome our new zipper swimsuit fad overlords.
>No Tarou we are not planning an S2.
Just give any role to Zuka pls, be it on anime or hentai. I just want to see her do something before the show ends ;-;
Already been confirmed by official art.
Hilarious how she is the only with her clothes stripped away.
I want to give her another child.
She was supposed to be dressed modestly in a white dress but it got changed to >>122606780
Condoms are actually used in VA training sometimes. The idea is that practicing blowing one up as much as you can in one breath increases lung capacity, and that somehow makes your acting better. Nips are fucking weird.
It says here, you have absolutely zero work experience and are drinking yourself to death. Your only hobby listed is "Donuts". Why should we hire you again?
Someone needs to make a doujin of this.
Well which grandma would you?
You just need to look like nicholas cage.
Checked Amazon. Glad to see it was just an edit.
Omedetou, anon. Your first day on the internet has been a great success!
Why do you do this anon?
Since the beginning.
This feels wrong, but also right at the same time.
What is this facial expression?
Goddamn, this show is full of hot milfs. I want them all!
Improved for your powerlevel hiding needs.
>Lewd Mature Bakos
That's it, we have reached the pinnacle of anime
It can be anything your little heart wants to be
Thanks you're the best.
Old post, but I don't see how what you're insinuating is a bad thing in any way. People hate western feminism for its focus on shitting on others while doing little to actually help anyone. If this show's trying to encourage girls, that's fine because it's not doing so by shitting on all men.
You're an idiot. You need more kids because you need a workforce. If girls are entering the workforce, let them. You get a worker and put them in an environment they're more likely to meet a suitable husband in.
Are we bullying each other now?
ricchan has been bullying everyone since the beginning
But Ema, Aoi, and Micchan have all been doing well for themselves. It's only Zuka who's suffered. Perhaps it's because she was getting in the way of EmaxMi and Diesel didn't like that?
Fun fact: Back in high school, at first Shizuka was the only one serious about a career in anime and was already practicing every day to be a VA before Aoi even got it in her head to start an animation club.
So can we talk about Yano or is that disallowed too?
Zuka fucked up

please stop. zuka suffering isn't funny anymore.
zuka suffering is too real.
>every girl is in airforce
>only the jew has a uniform of some sort
What the hell?
meh, attempted to adapt it for smartphones, doesn't really work if you don't hide your dock and center everything in the top bar
suppose you can use it for lockscreen though.
Miserable little misanthropes who probably have a "knife collection" consisting of kitchen knives, and have to be driven by mom every Wednesday to their anger management therapist.
It's still a trusted recommendation nonetheless, especially if she pulls through her job as production desk. That's all you need to move into serious consideration in any workfield, especially when there's 50-100 other competitors which they don't have time to examine individually very well.
Because it'll be too convenient for Zuka to get a role within 2 episodes
Either S2 or she just suffers more not because we hate her, but because she has to for the sake of the show.
And while at it dumping wallpapers maybe someone here doesn't like subtlety.
