He's pretty good, but it's not him you lay your life down for it's your dream. So that's a pretty contradictory thing you just said!

That smiling image in question is a bit dubious though, it was like he had trolled the protagonist of that series all along and was smiling in joy at the moment he crumbled.

What did Maetel see on Pluto?

This one part has always really unnerved me. Whose body was Maetel going to see on Pluto? Was it just a red herring?

I think I only know just realize that she might have been visiting her mothers human body.

I'm not sure it was a copy of Tetsuro's mother, she probably takes new bodies but they don't look any different from each other. The similarity was probably just a huge coincidence and more poetic story telling than a hard plot point (her being sort of a surrogate mother to Tetsuro in his real mothers stead. The conductor would probably be a lot more unnerved around her if she kept showing up in different bodies, unchanging ancients seems to be more the norm. Not only that but don't other unaging ancients recognize Maetel on sight? Like that time witch for instance?

I think it really is her mothers body actually, that would make a lot more sense for her to go look at.

I think it's more likely that the plot is just inconsistent, so there's no real point thinking too hard about it. Trying to piece together consistent facts in GE999 and Space Pirate (ESPECIALLY space pirate, holy shit leiji) is headwrecking.
