That way we finally have best Misaka and the shitty one is dead. Now, Touma will no longer feel scared when he is ever around and Index will no longer have a reason to antagonize her. Win-win!

Hey to/a/ru, after having watched Index S1 and half of Railgun S1 when they aired I started reading the Index manga just today (pic related).
I've noticed that there's like ~60 chapters out so far, and that it takes months for new ones to come out. What's up with that?
Also, can I get a grasp of the story if I read that manga and then railgun/accellerator/whatever other manga there might be for this series, or do I have to read the novels to know what the fuck is going on in the end?
Also, are illustrations like >>120781625 coming from the main manga? Considering after 10 chapters I'm not even into the whole Accellerator thing yet I'm confused as to whether that's from another source or if the manga is just super fast paced in comparison.

The Index manga is monthly - however, scanlations are sparse or just plain late
The Index manga also skips arcs from the anime and the novel, and rearranges a thing or two to make it still work
You will have to read the novels to know what's going on in these threads. The second season of the anime adapts up to Volume 13 of the novels, and the manga is still behind even that.

For a comparison, the ToAru verse is like Marvel and DC, just not so much expanded. Characters have their solo series, but they interact with each other (that's why Touma is present in the Misaka story).

I guess I'll start off by reading the manga (as honestly I'm more of a manga buff than I like watching anime or reading novels), after that I'll look into that one index movie and S2, maybe take a look at the railgun anime again, and if I'm still super confused will think about checking out the novel in the end.

pretty sure similar can be accomplished very easily with real ar by getting white or nylon painting handguard, stock, foregrip, mag, and slapping some stickers on

painting metal parts is slightly less diy
