He's never gone as long as he lives in our hearts.
I hope you never come back to /a/
You're playing a most dangerous game OP.
and I hope you die and lose
You don't cry when you're at absolute happiness?
I pity ya.
You're trying so hard, aren't you?
I like Planetes but holy shit this slut is fucking retarded.
Shitty comic relief characters that make up 70 % of the cast , annoying romance thing that you see comming in the first fucking episode.
These 2 alone is enough to make me hate it eventhough i did like the general idea.
I was OP, that was an amazing moment.
It didn't make you cry? It always has the onion ninjas going, the stream confirmed it.
>this is a story about space debris
no it isn't. it's a slice of life with political, social and economic critiques thrown in. and a topping of the human condition as well.
didn't make it a bad anime. it's just the premise of the show was superfluous to what the creator wanted to convey. i enjoyed it personally. i was just expecting more in terms of hard science and actual technical issues related to space travel. one of the series selling points is that they had actual japanese space program personnel advising. but all that ended as mere window dressing.
Part of that is because the manga was very soft sci-fi. The director decided for the story and tone to work in the transition, it needed the harder setting. The science of it was pretty much immaculate, and I liked seeing the hard sci-fi world from the eyes of those in it rather than being taken on a tour of it. Still, I get how you'd be disappointed if you were sold on a JAXA-approved series about the trials and tribulations of space, even if it does feature elements of them.
I think it was more going for 'it's the same shit as always, but it isn't all bad'.
We have more tools at our disposal to destroy ourselves than ever. Our coded tribalistic nature is what helped to get here and is exactly what is going to destroy us. Evolution did its best, but not good enough. I'm sure somewhere out there superior beings exist who managed to populate their whole galaxy at some point in time.
>We have more tools at our disposal to destroy ourselves than ever.
The same can be said about every facet of humanity, including the ability to save lives rather than end them. I agree that the chances of the current cycle of civilization lasting too much longer (in the scheme of things) aren't great, but we are getting off this rock first.
Nah. Humans will probably never become a spacefaring race because it's a lot harder than most imagine. Unless we reach the age of augmentations and cyborg bodies, it's just not possible. The best chance humans got is terraforming and colonizing Mars in hope that it change completely how humans think about themselves when we're no longer all bunched up on one damn rock.
For the moment being, humanity in itself needs to continue growing up and become more or less united.
Hahahahahahahaha good luck with that
I don't think we're ever getting beyond the solar system, I reckon Planetes probably has it more or less right. A century or three after 2076, something so economically bad will happen that humanity will collectively make the 'logical' choice and more or less withdraw back to Earth. The galaxy is likely littered with the graveyards of civilizations that made the logical choice.
Despite browsing 4chan since 2007, I never really cared for moot. He was the admin and that was the end of it. After listening to him for 8 hours talking about it all, I started to genuinely respect him. I really hope things don't change too much.
DID YOU GUYS WHATCHED PLANETES WITH MOOT AFTER THE Q&A AND DIDN'T INVITE ME ?
Fuck that blue haired bitch to Hell and back!
Oh, wait a minute...
Eh, I can see what you mean with light purple, but something still feels a little bit off, like there's added blue and white to the mix...
It looks like it's gray mixed with purple
Apparently I was right on the account that Blue was the most used color, but a whole lot of other stuff have to be added.
Pretty sure he was refering to that one kyoani show everyone already forgot about, not kara no kyoukai.
This anime was so retarded, it gave me aids and ebola even if i'm white. The only reason it didn't also gave me cancer was the opening.
It's not your fault, it's everyone elses. I hate it when a new, fairly insignificant and very forgettable show comes around and steals the acronym.
